Casey asked when & how to push with the Freddie, and I had some footage around anyway, so here goes. Is there a secret that's going to make it work every time? Nope. But with some practice, and a weather eye on the minimap, it's doable.

I just wanted to say thank you for your content! Your game analysis and reviews are outstanding! I also enjoy watching Yeah Bouy's but subscribed to your channel the first time I watched one of your videos. Please keep doing these!

I wish my teammates could communicate like that in the games I play. Nobody listens to me. I say, "Stick together". They all spread out. "Defend our base". We lose because an enemy destroyer caps our base. I once had a very low scoring game in a Warspite because I spent the entire game all by myself in our home base dodging stealth torps from an enemy destroyer. If I left, he would have capped.

Believe me, it doesn't always work. You'll find working teams mostly in the top tiers (9 & 10, sometimes 8), but below that, it's mostly a matter of luck. Now here's the fun thing, though - even though you often can't get a mid-tier team to play together, you can still read your teammates, and adjust your behaviour accordingly (like what you described in the Warspite). Yes, you won't get much score, but I prefer playing that way as well, "plugging holes", if you want - whatever gets my team to victory. And sometimes you find someone in lower tiers you can do an "impromptu" teamup with, just by supporting them. I've been practising quite a bit in the Brooklyn, I'll have another video on her and how to play support cruiser in a random team up the coming weeks.

@@angc214 I've got to honestly admin that I freeXP'd my way to the Brooklyn... it really took me a while to get the hang of the USN lights. But, I feel like I've gotten the hang of her.

@@FunandGameswithTerry So, I am also going for US cruisers, but should i go for the light ones or the heavy ones. Can u opt one above the other or do u have any comparison videos.

@@FunandGameswithTerry I'll admit it's not an easy grind. The German and French cruisers feel more natural. It does get frustrating when you fire 100 HE shells in a battle and only start a single fire that gets DC'd immediately.

I now have a fear of pushing after I went forward of my lines by about a mile in a cruiser, got focused by some battleships and fled backwards. Of course, I did not die then, but even when I was close to 3mi behind my own battleships their battleships still decided to focus me and I got ripped to shreds.

cruisers, when out in the open, will attract BB fire, simply on account of the BBs hoping for some good hits and an easy kill. There are a couple of things you can do. Don't broadside, but angle in against BBs. That'll reduce your target silhouette, and if you're bow-in, they can't see which way your smoke is going, so they don't know if you're going forward or backwards. Vary your speed (not while broadsiding, but bow in). You'll get them to overshoot, or fall short, and waste their salvos. You'll only get your forward gun turrets to bear, but you'll reduce the amount of damage you take, and give your team chances to get shots in. Keep moving. Cruisers aren't great at taking point, or tanking (although you can minimise the amount of damage you take, see above). A moving, manoeuvring cruiser at range is a hard target to hit, and it's possible to dodge BB shells if you see them coming. Try staying close to your max range, and rain HE down on them. Get into cover. Depending on the cruiser, that can be quite effective. E.g. in a USN CL, your high gun arcs often allow you to shoot over islands, while having some degree of cover from return fire. In a British CL, you can take aggressive positions, because you have smoke screens, and can't be easily rushed due to your torpedoes. IJN CAs can use their low detection range to get into flanking positions. I've got an item on my backlog for advanced cruiser tactics, covering those things in more detail.

So bots have a semi-colon at the beginning of their name? I just want to make sure I can differentiate players from bots. And 16:02 holy moly that drift (this is happened with me a couple of times but not with that intensity🤣)

Yes. If it starts with a semicolon, it's a bot. Note that there are some restrictions that don't apply to bots, e.g. turn rate (they can turn on a dime), turret traverse (I've seen them do a 180 on the turrets - one second they point away from me, the next they shoot at me) and magic torp dodging powers. Also, bot DDs rarely torp (they've gotten a tick better, but not much), so can mostly just be ignored, if you've got something better to shoot at. Yeah, the drift... a while back, bots would clip through you when they pushed hard enough, but they seem to have changed that. Such is life in bot games :)

I just started playing and I do t know what tech tree I should grind I know that I want to play battleships but I’m not sure which line I should grind. And I want to grind cruziers what do you recommend

It's difficult to recommend a specific line for new players. I'd generally say try a couple of things in lower tiers to see what you enjoy, before committing to go up beyond tier 5 or so where things start to get expensive. You can spend quite a wile in mid-tier in general, and practice your skills. Personally, my favourite battleship line is the German one. It should be relatively easy to play to tier 6, with a big change in tier 7 with the Gneisenau that has more of a dynamic battlecruiser style, but Bismarck is very rewarding, and many stop there. German BBs are quite sturdy, and great at mid-range. If you prefer more the stay-behind / long range style, Japanese battleships are a good choice.

I am grinding for cruisers, I am in t4 in both USA and German , which one should I be more focused on. First, I was going for the Germans but then I saw the stats of des Moines and her guns numbers nearly matched montana, so I went after USA. which country should I get. I also have just 50000 xp left for Montana and the dispersion of the north Carolina is bigger than the length of yamato.

Depends on your playstyle. USN cruisers from tier 6 upwards don't have torpedoes, but they're great AA support & DD repellent. USN CAs are HE spammers, relying on fires to do most of the damage, and the heavy cruisers are quite well armoured. So you'll mostly be playing close to the battleships, or in defensive positions. German cruisers have very hard-hitting AP, but their HE is comparatively poor (except for the Yorck). They do have plenty of torps, but only 5.4km range. A very nice video, I’m going to recommend it to my noob friend hhhhhh. Your advices about when to push are pretty useful but before I have to suppose that I have a team of relatively “good” teammates or not a group of 100% noobs, lmao.

Thanks! There are games when your team decides that winning is for suckers, and either yolos one by one or tries to camp into the next map, or ... - nothing you can do in those scenarios. Especially in tier 9 and 10, that kind of thing tends to happen somewhat less. Also, this is one small set of scenarios, for one particular ship - playing the same game in a different ship would have been a very different video. The tactical possibilities are huge, so if there's one thing to take away it's that keeping an eye on the map, and how the battle unfolds.

My only tier X ship république have an unbelievably low win rate only because I played solely for first 100 games and....... you know -_- But all thing changed when I teamed with my fleet members, always crashing the enemies and easily won the game.

Fun and games with Terry Keeping eyes on the small map, let your teammates keeping vision for you, and never teaming with same kind of ships in a game, the three factors helped me increase my win rates and damage.

@@xuanyuemao5791 Teaming up is great, especially when you combine ships that work well together. I'm often playing solo, due to my time zone, which is, agreed, challenging to make work. How do you like the République? I haven't gotten very far in the French BB line, but was kind of disappointed by the Bretagne, and got stuck there...

@@FunandGameswithTerry French BB line (I mean only Gascogne, Alsace and République can represent French BB line) now was weakened by WG, their armor and guns have no longer overwhelming advantages among T8~10 ships. However they are still strong with proper tactics.

Thanks, much appreciated! Although I do realise I'm potentially making my own life harder, e.g. if I'm in a DD and BBs suddenly play sensibly :) But it's worth it :)

I really like your vids and the way you explain your thought process... But this flanking the cap and simply no going for the cap is absolutely bad advice and the reason why so many times ppl who actually play for the objective end up losing on this map

It _really_ depends. I've lost many games in centre cap because the team decided to rush the cap all at once, and we got outflanked. Imagine you're in a BB, let's say on Golden Channel. You position at the cap baseline, ready to open fire. Your DDs are rushing the cap (as they should). Enemy BBs do the same on their side, but one of their IJN DDs decides to move, unseen, around the flank. The first thing you're going to see of him is a bunch of torps coming at your BB from the direction of your own spawn. Now what? You either have to start manoeuvring, which gets you out of the cap, out of your firing position, and the enemy BB line keeps hitting your broadside. Or you stay and take it, meaning that Kagero is having a field day. Centre cap maps are the maps most dependent on teams. If you can get a single ship through the flank, and disrupt the enemy positioning, forcing them to break formation and deal with you or take punitive damage, your team can both gain cap control and fire superiority. The problems start when half your team is going flank, because then you don't have sufficient firepower in the centre to gain fire superiority. Then, the enemy can just sit in the cap, and you'll have a hard time winning. This is the dilemma with centre cap maps - you need a balanced strategy, where everyone plays their role, to ensure victory. Otherwise, you're just depending on the enemy being potatoes, e.g. their BB just rushing straight through the cap in the beginning, getting themselves focused / torped.

nice tanking with your bb .....unfortunately i always get weird team mates ...dds that head straight for red cv , bbs who refuse to get near the cap , cas rushing red bbs...gets frustrating

I'm thinking of making a series on "how to teamplay with random people". Would that help? This comes up a lot. I mean, obviously, if the team tries hard to lose, there's not much you can do, but there are some things I usually consider when not playing in a division.

That would be great... However there are players who focus too much on solo... I know a guy with over 80% wr, and still no one likes to play with him... He's very good, but not a team player.. Only help ull get from him is stealing your kills lol

@@tamerlane3931 Yeah, if you're chasing stats, that's what usually happens... I generally try to play for the win, not for the MVP, although it's nice, of course, if it happens. I've added it to the backlog.
