@@AjaxStarfall I do sometimes, but generally it’s because I’d rather almost guarantee a torp hit than go for the devastating and hit none. A flooding is more useful to me than a bunch of torpedoes going off in the distance because the target changed course a tiny bit.

@@liamfreeman1812 but you can fire single torps in a spread like way as well. That way your torps arnt rng dependent on how they spread. (That's what I do)

I've been aboard Daring class Destroyer HMAS Vampire which can be visited at the National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour in Sydney. I highly recommend a tour of the ship if you get the chance.

Yeah ever since the IFHE rework, IFHE on Daring is useless and hurts you since your losing fire chance and wasting 4 points. Daring base pen is 19mm, IFHE brings it up too 23mm. Useless since you still can't pen 25mm

Oh jingles.. Daring captains don't take IFHE because without IFHE you can pen 19mm, which is BB superstructure, cruiser superstructure and most DD platings. if you do takeIFHE you can't extend the penetration to even 25mm, which is light cruiser plating, so the only benefit you get from IFHE is you can pen 21mm plating on Gearing. Not gonna lie, sounds like a really shit skill to me.

I believe they changed the high tier RN DD's during the testing so that they didn't need to take that skill. Before that change was implemented, the high tier RN DD's did need it.

@@MrDgwphotos Yeah, they added 1mm HE pen to everywhere by altering the math formula how to calculate HE pen, making RN DDs HE pen that 19mm what it is now. Before, when it was 18mm, it wasn't enough to pen standard DD plating, or BB superstructure, making it only viable against cruiser and DD super structure without IFHE, unless you just wanted to burn em down... The change actually happened early on this year, not during RN DD testing phase before their release.. It was part of that IFHE rework I believe, and it affects every ship in the game that shoots HE.

Hahaha, Bad Advice Cap! He is my top-point captain at the moment. ^^ Sad, you had the in-game sound so low one could't hear the HILARIOUS voice over. Even though I played so many games with him, I still chuckle every time he goes ape-shit when he sinks someone or is set on fire. X) Actually Jingles, Big Boy cared for the Goliath. He told him repeatedly to go undetected, but the Goliath was outspotted anyway.

Jingles, IFHE on RN DDs was for the HE to reach enough pen to deal with enemy DDs as without it they couldn´t even pen 19mm of plating. When the HE pen/IFHE rework rolled around a couple patches back, RN DDs got 19mm base pen at least on even the smaller guns so these days there is 0 reason to pick IFHE on these ships.

Sadly WG's UI does some rounding, so here are some actual numbers for reference: Gearing best concealment (w/o UU) - 5.9km in UI, actually 5.94km Halland best concealment - 6km in UI, actually 5.99km Daring best concealment - 6km in UI, actually 5.97km Grozovoi best concealment - 6km in UI, actually 5.99km Similarly, Smaland actually has worse concealment (6.14km) than Z-52 and Hayate (both 6.08km) despite the UI labelling all 3 as having 6.1km TL;DR: Daring is actually around the better side of average in terms of concealment Edit: a couple other things about the Daring: Daring's AP doesn't have an improved fuse, the arming threshold is the standard calibre/6, so 18.8mm-ish. IFHE became worthless with the rework, you only get 23mm of HE pen, which doesn't cross any significant threshold (HE rework was a huge buff for the ship though).

The last "King of the Sea" tournament made it clear that the game is "World of Radar" at that level ... and IMO WG should allow for radar to be damaged/disabled by enemy fire ... it requires "delicate installations high on the ship" to work (unlike Hydro).

in the 40s, long range hydro was sometimes dependent on towed arrays. those were even MORE fragile, and often did break so... of course, you also couldn't use them running full speed, or even half speed, like you can in this arcade game. arcade being the key word.
