Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone beats her own world record (50.65) as she punches her ticket to the Paris Olympics to defend her gold medal. #TrackFieldTrials24
Let’s put this into perspective. Sydney’s time bettered the Olympic standard for the OPEN 400! And, she would have finished 6th in the 400 open final. Try to picture her running over hurdles while the other women are running the open, and she beats 3 of them. Lastly, she would have beaten one of the men in the men’s 400H final!
Leaving the hurdle height aside, taking her personal best against a man's worst ever performance is a bit weird. That guy has run 47.5... He'd obliterate her - let's be clear.
She will ALSO run on the 4x400 relay at the Olympics. She has run 48.7 in the open 400 besides her world record performances in 400M Hurdles. I see TWO gold medals for her!
She also just said in an interview that she is open to running in both the mixed 4x400 and 4x400m -------I think she is closing all hope for teams like the Netherlands who thought they stood a chance of a gold medal in Paris.
@@kobbieafriyie21724 x 400m is not dependent on one superstar .. look at the team that had Shelly Ann , Elaine , shericka still they lost to an average American team
Bionic woman and stunningly beautiful athlete. I was sort of hoping that Femke Bol and Sydney would be the highlight competitive battle of the upcoming Olympic Games, but despite Bol's own greatness, Sydney is from another universe altogether.
❤❤❤I'd love to see her compete in the 400m and 400m hurdles.. if the schedule is right and she's healthy enough.. that would be a record in the 400m. Congratulations to MCLaughlin for breaking the 400m hurdles record with a time of 50'67. In the 400m event, she also achieved 48'78, but she decided to only participate in her forte, the 400m hurdles. See you again at the 2024 Olympics in France.
@@jorisoims3085 this was aired at like 6pm pacific time dufus 😂😂. Most people are off work and if you work during this time slot, you’d have recorded it if it was that important to you, but it wasn’t. So you get to be spoiled because of NBC’s need for ratings.
always astonishing how cold everyone reacts at US competitions to such unbelievable greatness. in any other country, people would completely freak out, including rivals.
@@Oyeolsakin she's tired ... in shock... what do u expect?!?! shes cool as hell in person met her in jersey at a track meet when she was 17 very humble and down to earth
As usual, there is Sydney and the others! And she's not yet at the top of her form, scheduled for the Olympic Games in a month, where she will again beat her record like the two previous years 2021 and 2022.
@@tz3841 Some women athletes get better even after giving birth. Look at Ellie St. Claire, Nia Ali when she won Worlds and a few others. If they're still on the youngish side, it makes them stronger.
The record that needs to be broken is that womens 4x400m. Surely the USA can finally produce four good athletes to beat that Russian world record which has stood since 1988.
@@kobbieafriyie2172 The n*ked *gression in your words is a DISGRACE for your name and for Africa. That beautiful continent deserves better representatives than you.
I really want to see her go all out on the 400m. If she can run this in the hurdles, i have no doubt that she can challenge the 400m world record and finally erase that shady record from the books!
It's beyond shady. They called Koch the walking pharmacy. She had to shave her face every day. The documentation is known also. It should be erased already.
The womens 400 hurdles need to be higher for the women. Sydney is above average height for a woman , femke bol can literally walk over them. These are not really "hurdles" for them compared to the men that need perfect technique to clear them.
Apparently the commentators have not learned anything from the mutual respect Femke and Sydney have expressed for each other as well as the culture and fair play competition they both bring to the sport. Save your uneducated and uncultured comments for some illegal street fight. Athletics deserve a better audience and Sydney deserves better fans.
@@grgr6720 the hell are you talking about? It’s a rivalry, they know good and well it’s fair competition. This comment has racist undertones btw don’t think you’re slick. Weirdo.
She is in top form. But the Olympics are not now...Quite a few Americans have already caught on to this. Of course, as a European, I'm rooting for Femke Bol, sorry😁
@@mauricebrew7712 yes... I understand that Femke Bol is the second best RIGHT NOW. But Dalilah Muhammad was the top runner a few years back before Sydney and Bol came into the picture. Se had the previous world record.
That's when the world thought Femke closed the gap, not happening, grats to Sydney on an awesome comeback after the injury, Femke missing on those Afro genes, that's the honest truth
I'm black and you just have an inferiority mentality, how really stupid without intelligence. I'll prove it to you, does Karsten Warholm have afro blood. Shame on you 🤡🤡
🤣🤣🤣---let me update you on their brand new excuse---it is kind of a weird one-----now, they are saying that Sydney is peaking too early and that is why Bol will beat her in Paris------but obviously Bol fans are not brilliant------Sydney broke two of her previous world records back to back within a month and a half----if they are thinking that this is the best Sydney can do before Paris, then they are in for a shock.
Grow up. They'll push each other till new heights. Femke Bol is worthy competition. Too bad Sydney not competing in 400m flat. But it's certainly looking tough for Bol.
