Finally salad, maximum salad, ahh so good. It's easy to grow lettuce outside, providing there's not critters eating them. Winter in a greenhouse or plastic covered row bed is absolutely perfect to grow lettuce through winter with a southern exposure.

I'd put either mirrors, aluminum foil, or some shiny silver mylar space blankets, to reflect light behind back to the plants. Cheapest and easiest option is the space blankets at $2 for two direct from China(Just have to secure them good to prevent the wind from tearing them apart).

what a great idea…the bugs that ALWAYS came in the seedlings I ordered from lettuce grow are crazy making. How long did you soak the seedlings in the Hypochlorous acid? and did any of your seedlings seem bothered by that ?

Yeah! About 30 seconds to one minute each one. Just the medium/roots. Only plant that's supposedly averse to it is Dill, but I haven't tried it personally!
