Nathan Lamoreaux Zadra is incredible with how early it was, this one was delayed quite a bit so not surprising it beat WCR since it was supposed to open earlier than WCR from the beginning and not early like Zadra.
That technically could've actually worked since, in the show, it starts with a launch and ends with a lift hill as well. I'll be it there are no elements shown before the lift hill essentially making into a lift hill, but it still counts.
@@rattyeely actually that coaster is themed to rock bottom... sort of. While yes it is practically themed to the Fiery Fist O' Pain, it isn't officially themed to it, nor is it titled it. But by all means, it is the closest we have.
Awesome coaster. Actually does have footers. They are covered by the cement final floor. Uses 3 Gigawatts of power for the initial launch. Also unlike most coasters has a unique lighting system that follows the cars around the track. Each car has its own color scheme to signify which turtle your car is! - I work on the lighting team for the coaster
@TheDemonCat92 They actually Started this Last Year ... they've dragged it out for so long now ... in June the whole community was Joking it wouldn't open until Fright Fest ... Here we are almost time for Holiday in The Park ... Seriously this might not Open until 2020 ...
Its inside a building which will always be lit up. What you get in the day will pretty much be the same at night unless they plan on turning off the ceiling lights lol.
@@detroitdiezel7856 the ride has lights on the track and at night can give really cool light shows. For example, check out a video of Hangtime at Knott's Berry Farm during the night.
I think Takabisha is the best, most complete layout Gerstlauer has ever designed, and probably one of the best in the world. Wouldn't mind seeing more clones of it!
I'm glad to hear such a glowing review, as I hope to ride this coaster sometime soon. I live reasonably close (Philly), but $80 admission plus $30 parking for one credit is more than I'm willing to stomach, even if it's a great credit. I hope there's an ACE discount or something similar after the other coasters are open.
@@nicolepapole As far as I know, admission is currently $50 for an all-day pass, but going up to $80 on November 15. That's what their ticketing website says. I'm not sure what parking costs; it seems to vary depending on the time and how long you stay. Could be free, could be up to $24.
Shellraiser’s banana roll is designed in a way to only do 1 inversion unlike Steel Curtain’s banana roll which is designed in a way to do 2 inversions.
I'm writing a parody of that episode about this, since me, my brother, and his girlfriend are going to the American Dream over winter break and we might ride this.
Very interesting to hear you label it as the best 2019 coaster of them all. I'm pretty excited to get in this place in December when I head up that way. I am originally from that area (sad NY Jets fan) with SFGA being my original home park. We've been waiting for this place to open for over a decade and I'm so happy that it seems to be legit inside. I just love that it's broken up into what can essentially be two separate coasters. Thanks for the review. I'm really looking forward to this one. Not so much the $79.00 each it's going to cost for me and my kids to get in there but oh well. Is what it is I suppose. lol Oh... for now I'll be your newest sub. Great channel.
yeah i live between this and Great Adventure. This is only about 20 minutes away but i don't plan to spend the money unless all the coasters are open. I also really hope they offer a season pass at some point
Yeah I noticed the front row was tougher than the back. Also the airtime on the first dip is kinda insane for its size. You’re not overrating it, it’s my tenth overall
For me the back row felt way stronger than the front row. Out of the 3 times I've gotten on this thing, 2 of those being on the same day, front and back seats. I definitely felt more airtime in the back on the 121.5 degree drop.
this literally one of the best channels ever cant wait to ride this next april and its basically another home park for me bc hershey dorney and great adventure
Is it weird that I've never heard of this coaster until just two weekends ago when it opened? I've heard talks about a new mall and a new Nickelodeon Universe park but nothing to concrete until opening day. I guess there were so many additions that year that this one kept slipping my mind.
this was one of the best rides I've ever been on and I love how it's indoors too but that park is on my top 10 I've been to I live in East Rutherford and live close to American Dream's great fantastic ride they also take a pic of with the Turtles in the Shellraiser before you lunch the shredder is another one of my favorite rides there too lol
Cant wait to ride it when I use my voucher to go back, none of the coasters were open when I went but damn guess I have to wait a few weeks to make the most of it
Looks like a solid ride. Beating Cannibal is a tall order. The drop on Cannibal is tough to beat, and with Lagoon roll you are getting two heartline rolls, that are more thrilling in my mind being that you are actually up in the air. I think these rides will be compared a lot. Nice review!
Rode this 4x yesterday and I very much agree with this review! It's a very fun coaster, and one of the most unique I have personally ridden. I would note that the middle seats seemed to be a little less shaky than the end seats from what I noticed. The launch definitely caught me off guard every single time. Also some of the inversions are super fun when they go right up towards the ceiling. It's definitely super disorienting because you confuse it with the ground.
I disagree. While it definitely has better rides, the overall aesthetic of the park is REALLY disappointing. It's so bland in comparison to the Minnesota location. I'm hoping it'll look nicer once the mall is fully complete.
He should’ve also mentioned Rock Bottom Plunge with the other EuroFighters. On the topic of MoA, I’ve been there, but for some reason, my only credit was Back at the Barnyard Hayride, even though my siblings rode the other coasters.
I rode Takabisha, and the first section being in pitch black darkness really makes it a lot better. Being able to see it makes it such a weak section, especially being able to see the launch coming.
Cmation Either make it the last ride to open in the 2010s, or open a minute later as the first ride of the 2020s. Remember when Magic Mountain opened rides early? Goliath opened in February because they wanted it to be the first coaster to open in the new millennium and also possibly so that they could have the record for the world’s tallest complete circuit coaster before Millennium Force opened.
I would imagine in the summertime the temperature difference between ground level and when you are up at the top of the tallest hills on Shellraiser will be quite noticeable. Thanks for the in-depth review.
To compensate for this I noticed that there are air registers (vents) low down on the vertical supports as well as many more high up on the horizontal trusses to cool the high up air.
i rode this on saturday it’s my number 4 coaster... out of 32, it surprised me with that one airtime hill during the first half and the drop was as epic as expected. i went with my friends and they didn’t know it had a launch (nor did they know what a lsm launch track looks like) so i had fun listening to them freak out when we hit that launch. overall it’s a great ride although it gave me a headache when i tried to marathon it
AmusementInsider I was thinking basically the same thing. Makes sense to me to put a tunnel there just to hide the launch from people who don’t know it’s there. Sure you can see the beginning and the end of the tunnel from the line or station, but a lot of people probably wouldn’t realize that the beginning and end of the launch is the same thing.
I got to ride this a few days after it opened and I was so thrilled the only problem was it was closed half of my trip. So I only got one ride, but I hope to go back soon
GERSTLAUER For real, Gerstlauer is great. Kärnan is insane. Novgorod is insane Karacho is insane They buildt their rides long, smooth and intense. And for me, they’ve the best LSM Launches, looking at Novgorod
What is up with the roughness at the bottom of each drop? I got 25 rides on it today(10 zen :). )and I pray they do something about it because it will not age well. On the other hand, that launch to the dive loop is my favorite part.
You nailed it right on but i liked the front row better. I was able to ride it 6 times in a row. I didn't expect the launch to be as forceful as it was and this coaster is definitely in my top 20
Any word on when the theme park will be fully open? I know not all the rides weren’t open to the public and there weren’t any stores or places to eat yet
I literally just got back from a trip to Houston (we got back home an hour ago). Ended up getting rides on the Boardwalk bullet and Iron Shark. I Initially went to the bullet, but it was closed and "might" open later, so I headed to galveston and got an all day riders pass because Iron Shark was actually open. There was no line and I ended up riding it at least 30 times, most of the times, it was just me riding it. the most I marathoned it before I had to get off was about 12 rides, then 8 people showed up and I had to go back through the queue. Called kemah when we decided to leave galveston and they saidthe bullet was open, so I rode that twice(front and back). Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience since you showed iron shark for 3 seconds of the video funny enough, you also mention powder keg, which I've also rode this summer when I went to SDC.
Damn man on your videos You Nail it completely and I can't wait to ride this I am I a Connecticut resident I definitely will be heading down to New Jersey soon
Six Flags : WERE OPENING WEST COASTER RACER FOR 2019!! 2019: nothing: no one: absolutly no one: nickoloden universe : ShElLrAiSeR iS cOmInG tO NiCkOloDeN UnIVeRsE six flags: West coast racer exe has stoped working
It definitely looks like a fun ride, it's just a shame that it's by far the best thing there while everything else just kind of exists... definitely hoping to stop by here next year at some point within a reasonable window from coaster con 43 and it'll sure beat Crossing a massive ocean to get to, but I just wish there was more there that looked reasonably good...
Does anyone think that a beyond vertical drop aught to be considered an inversion because you are going down at an angle that is partially upside-down?
I went there on a sat I bought two adults tickets and my little one got in free. And the parking was free on that sat. But as for the ride awsome hands down. Or up
