I came here after watching the 11 year old record-holder: He's very disappointing; actual hand movement isn't fast at all. Apparently, he gets more rebounds than anyone, while the sticks barely leave the head. THIS, HERE, is REAL speed.

the ONLY sad thing about this video is, that it was not recorded with 50 pictures per second (or more). At 320 bpm you would hit the practize pad about 42 times per second. One last idea: analyse your high speed rolls by using a camera that records with 240 pictures per second and look, if all is nice and precise :)

Amazing. If technique was the whole basis of drumming, he's a great drummer, no question. The other aspect is, "what do you do with that technique?" What kind of music does he create? I didn't hear anything really musical here. I don't think drumming is just about speed and power. So many drummers do. "Yeah, musicality, blah blah blah, but can you believe how fast he is?"
