Hello my whoop friends. My legendary 37g lightweight 85 1103 11k is back! I call it Butterfly85FAF (Fast as F**k🤣) Just as light as before but with a heavier camera (which turned out to be not as good as expected, but sufficient). And I've finally gotten around to race the whoop indoors. Of course its not a real indoor racer (which was to be expected) but still surprisingly good! You feel the weight, but you also have a lot of power. (Something like a Dakar rally truck with 1200 hp and huge turbochargers. Not easy to drive, but once you get used to it it's quite fast) This Whoop feels very good outdoors and on large racetracks. And even in light and medium winds it can still be flown outside.
So it will probably never be my Top 1 whoop for indoors, but it is good for outside on windy days.
And it`s surprisingly durable! I wouldn't have thought that with the thin struts of the ducts. There must be some magic happening. I've crashed a lot (and some quite hard frontal crashes) and the whoop still flies perfectly.
I love it! And I'm very proud of that whoop. I've never seen such a lightweight powerful 85mm 2S whoop with 1103 Motors on the Internet. This whoop is basically a maximized/full-on race version of the Shutterbug85 from MrShutterbug. This one flew well back then. But the Butterfly85FAF is in a completely different league. And the Happymodel Mobula8 and Betafpv Meteor85 with their 43+g are real heavyweights in contrast to my version. If you like the Mobula8 or Meteor85 then you can imagine it something like this: Imagine your Meteor85 or Mobula8 with 25% more power and better handling. (I get the 25% because my whoop can fly with 2S 300mah in contrast to the standard 85 whoops which need 2S 450mah to fly properly). It's pretty crazy believe me. In any case, I will keep this whoop and fly it from time to time😃 And I'll let my friends fly with it. I want to see my friends smile when they fly it😃

Track 2…. I’ve never seen you fly like that before…. 😮 I’m sure you were having a lot of fun with those laps! 2s really has the power! I absolutely love my Meteor85, but I’m super curious to build something silly like a lightweight Mobula8 frame with Flywoo 1003 motors @14.800kv paired with HQ 51mmx3 OR Gemfan 2009.

Really? Then maybe I moved up to the Level Shit Pilot 2.0🤣But have you seen the other tracks? Yes, it was a lot of fun, I really liked the race tracks! But also a lot of work with all the testing etc. Yes, 2S really has a lot of power! But indoors, 2S doesn't really stand a chance against my 1S builds if I preheat the 1S Lipos to 40 degrees celcius. But I just wanted to get the most out of the 2S (by the way, there are one or more other 2S whoops coming in the future). I would recommend you don't think too long. Just build my friend😃I have to keep reminding myself of this too..

Hello. Nice videos. When it comes to weight-saving, you can try using the BT 3 battery connector without the battery balance lead, or you can use two BT 2 connectors for two small 1s batteries. Additionally, consider adding a tantalum 16V capacitor instead of an electrolytic, which can be soldered directly to the pins on the AIO board. This helps save an additional few grams

Hello my whoop friend. Thank you for your tips! I appreciate that very much. I'll do BT3.0 as soon as there are 300mah lipos on the market with BT3.0. Do the small capacitors have enough capacity to really effectively protect the electronics?
@user-fz3nb6mv3e
@user-fz3nb6mv3e Месяц назад
They can have the same capacity in much smaller cases and lower ESR than electrolytic capacitors, making them better for low-voltage quads. In this scenario, we need to filter electrical noise in the power system more than protect from transient processes due to battery switching. This filtering is more effective if the capacitor is closer to the board. Just make sure you have more than 50% of the voltage capacity. The tantalum capacitor can turn into a small firework in the event of voltage overload. As for BT 3 300mAh batteries, I think you will never get them. So, it's better to shorten long heavy wires for the XT30 connector and replace the balance lead with the BT3 by yourself@@butterflyfpv

@@user-fz3nb6mv3e Ok thank you! Interessting! But my old boards without capasitor always died when i switched lipos (5v regulator on the board died). So im not sure about this theory.

Nice👌🏼🚀 i have this board but with 2 ph2 connector and 0802/40mm props on 2S . You have this board for a long time? Big up my whoopfriend and i think like 'gilebike' for the song😉

Hey Ludo! Cool! Then do you also fly 2S from time to time? I would recommend you BT2.0. No, I have only flown the board about 50 flights. So far it's working perfectly.. Regarding the song: Ok ok, I understand 🤣

Ich sehe noch einspar potenzial. Den neuen BT3 connector. Kondensator kann weg. Den HQ vier blatt prop kannst du zwei blätter ab schneiden. Wie gefällt dir der jhemcu aio?
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv 2 месяца назад
Hmm also BT3.0 wäre möglich ja.
