I chose the ONIT home water system out here in Texas because they connect directly to the city . The ONIT home water system lasts longer and improves hair, skin, nails, testosterone, and water is a way of life. I feel using a whole home water system helps the entire home water with the exception of irrigation. The Onit home water system will result in no chlorine, no calcium,and no magnesium throughout the whole home. If you have a new home, the ONIT whole home water system will protect all faucets, from hard metal build ups which can lead to corrosion if not properly maintained. I also had ONIT install the reverse osmosis system with ph filters under my sink. The reverse osmosis system improves drinking water as well as cooking by getting rid of excess minerals, softens water, and filters out many chemicals metals, dust and other unwanted particles.

Love what you do Roger, but I don't understand the technology that is in that descaler to remove all the scale. Is it a softener? Is it a deionizer? You said no added chemical so no polyphosphate... Would love to understand it. Thanks

during a summer bacteria/amoeba bloom in the water storage systems (reservoirs, etc), they will pump up the chlorine/ammonia levels. Some cities have more modern filtration systems that will use UV & microfilters, so they don't need to do this unless it gets really really bad. Check your local water provider's quality report for the "Trihalomethanes" levels (should be below 80 parts per billion)
@MARKE911

Also look to see if they list the unregulated contaminates of Chloroform, Bromodichloromethane & Dibromochloromethane. Big words bad byproducts from Chlorine.

my water is from such a good well that I have a pleated paper filter system, and the only special feature there is, is that I run two parallel filters so I can bypass either filter and depressurize it to change the cartridges without needing to shut off the water.

Would the Descaling system potentially help with very high iron content in the water? We are on well water and even though it's "Safe to drink", it almost tastes like blood and always has a slight orange tint to it.
@MARKE911
@MARKE911 3 года назад
If you are on a well, you likely have high mineral content, It would surely benefit you. You likely will need to deal with the Iron and from your description it sounds like you have Bacterial Iron issue over ferrous Iron or Ferric Iron. I would definitely submit a sample for testing and deal with the iron and use a specific filter accordingly.

Sadly I was fired after working 4 days as a helper. I joined since they offered the apprenticeship program. I’ve been told I was too slow. I was great at communicating with others and being respectful, but judging by my actions I was to slow. I don’t have much experience when it comes to labor such as digging trenches or using a jack hammer but I was willing to learn and do my best. I’ve come home sore and my hands has calluses and bruising but I guess that wasn’t enough. The boss told me he was was wanting someone who has some knowledge and experience when it came to the labor. Even though they checked my resume and everything and knew that I haven’t done something similar but they gave me a chance. I didn’t showed any laziness or giving up, but to him I was just too slow, even though everything I did this week was my first time.It’s sad that it happened, I was looking forward to becoming part of the trades. I have a strange idea, rating computer water cooling systems. Hmm there is an interesting idea a computer built with plumbing in mind. I mean should you put a filter into computer water cooling systems, and would the temperature be any different. Could team up with Linus tech tips and Ferguson. I mean they tried to use a car radiator to cool a computer. It worked....but they could have plumbed it better, i think.

talk to a local water treatment company about a water softener system. they will have the most experience with your area, and you'll be able to get local service. don't install a system that doesn't have local support or you will be paying more for travel than for the service work.

We don’t have to use any filtration system what so ever. Water source is surface water and has low minerals. pH is 6.8-7.0 water hardness is 17-29 mg/L or 1.0-1.7 Grains per Gallon Free Chlorine residual is 0.45-0.68 we are blessed to have amazing drinking water and rarely have any issues. Only issue we have is when Fire Dept flows lots of water( fire hydrant inspections) and the manganese they add to the water is stirred up from inside of the water mains. Only once a year and we get a months notice. Clears up completely by next day.

Chlorine reacts with the germs and dirt and give off that chlorine smell, so the dirtier the water the more you smell the clorine.
@robertoswalt319
@robertoswalt319 3 года назад
Chlorine is a gas that is added to the water supply to mitigate microorganisms. The chlorine smell is the gas leaving the water and entering the atmosphere regardless of the presence of germs and dirt. The reason boiling water gets rid of the chlorine smell is that the heat helps to release the chlorine gas into the atmosphere.

Question: it’s obviously not R.O., is it DI resin? carbon? Sediment filter? At $60 a pop, given the size, as a whole house water filter it must need replacing in a few weeks or less... much less. As for a kitchen (and aquariums) nothing beats an RO unit along with it’s sediment/carbon filters. As an aquarist, I’ve played with water for 40 years... all these gadgets do nothing or last an extremely short time.

Great you now have some type of filtration. You didn’t tell us anything about your water, other than it smells of chlorine. I know it’s coming from a municipality, but that’s about all. How hard is your water? That heater filter, what’s it’s range, etc. Where do I find this at Ferguson, you didn’t leave any info, down below. The lead filter same problem. Did you do any analysis of your water, does Ferguson supply this for free? Seems to me you’re suggesting a blind approach......come on! Jim PS.....I do have some some filtration at home, but where it makes sense, i.e. rather than use the filter in my new refrigerator (cartridges cost $30-$50 each...too expensive) I have added an inline 10” sediment/carbon filter, that I replace every 3 months for about $3-$5.

Wouldn’t smaller capacity mean frequent cartridge changes? I always tell my customers. Be very aware of any brand with “pro” or contractor in the name. Be vary aware.
