2008 should have been Carlos Tevez... He had about 5 goalscoring chances and he displayed all the finishing ability of a one legged tortoise 2019: Harry Kane. He was absolutely nowhere to be seen at that game
tbh Karius didn't really scream to the world that he had a concussion. All he did was say "sorry" to fans, break down, then go and have a checkup after the game. The staff reported that Karius showed all the signs of a concussion.
Poor Karius. He was actually playing well before his Champions Final nightmare. It just shows, confidence can make or break any player. I don't know what Man Utd are going to do with De Gea, but they need to be careful because the way he's going, the poor dude is heading in the same route as Karius. He's doing okay now, but you know, he's in Turkey playing in a lower league.

I disagree. Bias aside arsenal were the better team and even if we went 1-0 down im sure it could have been turned around with 11 men+a keeper that's not Almunia. Lehman deserves the blame

2014 would be Casillas for me, nothing Courtois could do about most of the goals. Casillas flapped about for Atleti’s goal like he didn’t know what he was doing
I'd say Sami Khedira or Iker Casillas (sadly) for the 2014 final. Khedira just got back from injury and lost the header against Godin that led to the goal while Casillas came off his line at the wrong time. They just got saved by Ramos in the end and Courtois actually did fine in the game and conceded the other 3 goals after the rest of Atletico got tired and gave up.
So you just didn't know who to give it to in 2014 and probably didn't watch the game because you choose Courtois because he "conceded 4" when he was a few seconds away from keeping a clean sheet and his team winning. It was 4-1 AFTER extra-time. 1 of the goals was a header in the 92nd minute which was very difficult for any keeper to save, the next he made a save but conceded on the rebound and 1of the next 2 was a penalty not conceded by him. If anything it would've made more sense giving it to the player who conceded that pen and the defending as a team was quite bad for Madrid's 3rd goal from Marcelo as well. Also Casillas made a goalkeeping error in that game, a worse 1 than any Courtois made.
Gotta disagree with 2013. From bayern team dante made more mistakes that game and overall I think that bender really lost control over bayerns offense midfield in the second half and later pisczcek and schmelzer seemed unfocused as well
I'm a United fan and I'd have to say in 2009 Ronaldo was probably our worse player. He was just playing selfishly (barley did that at United), shooting pointlessly from long range and was basic trying to be a one man team
I don’t get why people keep saying karius is a shit keeper and that even his performances for Besiktas are shit. I get that he messed up big time vs Madrid and there’s no excuse for that, however he holds the record for the most clean sheets in a single Champions League campaign. Besides that, his performances in turkey are great, he’s had zero errors that lead to a goal and he is without a question the best keeper in the league. I get that it’s only the Turkish league but he’s performing despite not having received wages by Besiktas in five months. Give him a break, seriously.

He definelty deserved it. He was a pro goalkeeper playing for a top club. He threw the match making the teams hard work meaningless. You need to be able to catch the ball as a goalkeeper no excuses.

Courtois pulled off loads of great saves in 2014. I would've gone for Ronaldo personally for that one: all he did was score a meaningless penalty with the last kick of the game.
