@@michaeldipietro5010 He's never gonna score that many goals and that many points, but around 35-40 points is great for a defensive-minded 3rd line center.
I don’t mind Larkin, Mantha, and Athanasiou getting their money, as they’re the guys that the team is supposed to be built around, but why are the guys from 2009 still around?
But not really (ok, yes, it's a lousy cap hit but thankfully we're more than fine with cap space). It's a shame that he never had a good team around him when he was playing lights out hockey. Now he's been plagued with injuries (sucks when it happens to any player, but Schneids is one of the real good guys in the league). That being said, after taking his time to get healthy he is playing really good hockey again. Hopefully he can keep his game up and we can ease Blackwood into the starting role. That all being said, there are some goalies in this 2019 draft not named Spencer Knight who I would be happy if the Devils selected in later rounds (Mads Sogaard, Dustin Wolf, Ilya Konovalov...). Hell, Spencer Knight would look great in a Devils jersey but it's pretty obvious he won't be around except for when they pick some nobody named Jack Hughes with the first overall pick.
I hope we make a deal to trade him off during the draft lottery for a pick. Some team I'm sure would be interested (let's hope lol). That or we may have to just buy him out. Let's hope he has a better season
Capitals doesn't have any particular bad contracts, so even if he chose Eller it doesn't mean it's a bad contract, he just had to chose someone. But I'd say Burakovsky. That dude is lost, he's never gonna be a good player. Eller had 18 points in 24 games in the playoffs last year and is getting 35-40 points a year as a 3rd line center with good defensive skills for 3.5m. Burakovsky is a pure offensive player who cant score 30 points even and gets 3m, so I'd say Burakovsky.
I have been saying this for the last 15 years. Sign any player entering the league at minimum wage and pay them based on the performance they get bonuses.
Even if he is found innocent,he has contributed absolutely nothing to the team.I hate having to shit on a countryman, but he is just no where near a nhl caliber player.
As for the leafs i really hoped they would let K.Kapanen a real chance now that nylander is back.Because i really do think Kapanen has a higher ceiling than Nylander.Hopefully K.Kapanen gets traded so that he gets to develop even more, instead of being buryd to the 3 line because of Nylander returning.I truly think kapanen could be the better option, hopefully some other team will get to reap the benefits, because staying in Toronto will slow down his development considerably.
@@bjorkell2006 I think if kapanen can keep his play up he'd almost be the better option to keep. He might not be quite as good as Nylander but he'd be close and he'd be cheaper. He can kill penalties. Plus you'd probably get a better return for Nylander so that seems like a better option to me right now. You never know though. That could change by the end of the season
i watched him stand on his head in that Caps game about a month ago. he was stellar. that save he made on Ovi was worth the price of admission. shit, no pun intended.
The Jay Bouwmeester contract looked bad for a while, but has paid off at the right time! He's become a necessary asset to our defense: one of our core players. And you know, he's in the Stanley Cup Finals.
ReepsFilms Yeah no a vid like this can be very difficult to do. I just think the length of Dubinsky is what takes him down, Savard on a lot of other teams could be a top 4 D just Columbus is so stacked back there. Great vid bro was glad to see your channel back in my sub box
I Disagree, I feel like a big piece to Kane is his ability to transition to offense and break into the zone with his speed and hands. After the cup loss where we were completely out skated, i feel like he is just the type of player we needed. Just because he's not always picking up points, he is a huge weapon for us on offense in other ways.
Quick isn’t the worst contract on the Kings. His numbers may look is if that’s the case. But the way he’s played has been like a normal Quick. The players around Quick haven’t helped him whatsoever. And u wrote Jake Boumester under St Louis. It’s Jay Boumester
Jayke Gilletz As a Habs fan, I feel you. Price and Quick aren’t horrible, their defense is. Idk about Quick but Price is starting to get better numbers so good for him.
Quick is not the same guy he was a few years back but kovalchuk is the worst contract for the kings,he just cant keep up with the younger guys anymore.
Määttä is decent defensively and still has room to grow as a player if he just stays healthy. He is still young for a defenceman, and i expect him to be a great third pair d-man
Alzners contract is worst than Prices one. Price has a really good season with a bad defence, considering that Weber just came back. Alzners contract is expansive and he doesnt even play...
As a Blues fan I believe STL’s worst contract is still Jay Bouwmeester at 5.4 million for 5 years. Jay is having one of his worst years in recent memory and after watching dozens of games this year, I feel Allen’s stats are to be blamed on the defense. Especially Bouwmeester
I thought Bolland's career ended like 6 years ago... He got traded to the Panthers who paid the rest of his contract for 2 or 3 seasons while he sat on IR, and now he's on the Coyotes, and STILL on IR? I know he's not actually being paid in full bit that's fucking insane... Must be a super nice guy or something lol
No way Maatta is the worst contract. He's a solid player. Johnson could be a better choice even thought he's played well ever since we got Petterson. I'd say Brassard is the worst contract just because he's been terrible this year. It is retained but he's barley worth the 3mill cap hit.
Price is getting back to the price he used to be, he is just putting up solid numbers since you uploaded this video. Karl Alzer is not even playing in the nhl anymore. Almost 5 million, not worth it at all.
Interesting video! Just a quick tip, try to not smash enter as hard in the future when you're done with the comments between each clip. Maybe it's just me but it takes a lot of focus out of the video itself :)
@SteelCityFilms based on how he's playing he should be scratched for Riikola but he costs too much. I hope Johnson finds his game cause 5 years of him being too expensive to scratch is gonna be painful if he doesn't.
Maatta is still trade-able, however I don’t see anybody wanting to take on Johnson. Rutherford’s going to have to send some picks Seattle’s way to take Johnson off the books.
Every Habs fan loves Price, whatever his contract is. We know he is still in the top 3 active goalies in the league and he doesn’t have that great of a defensive core in front of him. And for the number of games he saved on his own, Price totally deserved his contract
I wonder what Bergevin was high on when he made the offer. Plus, this causes a big problem for other teams, as other goalies will look at that deal and want the same terms. Bobrovsky's agent is publicly saying he wants that kind of money too, and I will be scared of what Holtby and Murray will be asking for once it's their turn for a contract renewal.
Zaitsev was very good the year he signed, the second year was a huge slump but this year he’s playing better, I think he’s more of a 3 mil instead of a 4.5 mill guy. But he’s playing decent this year
Not really. His possession numbers and plus minus were god awful. He just got PP minutes that year and piled up secondary assists because of the talent around him.
Soderberg has scored 20 for Colorado this season. I would argue that their worst contract is Erik Johnson. He's 30 with 5 years left and 6 mil each year. Yikes! His play has regressed and he's showing his age as of late
I know you had to pick someone, but Carey Price? I know he's been injured, but the guy's approaching the team record for most wins, he's had to stand on his head for much of the past few years with little to no help, and really, the bad contract should be pointed at Marc Bergevin, who has woefully mismanaged this team.
For the Rangers I will disagree, mainly because Belesky was aquired knowing what he was and they took his contract to get more out or the deal knowing that they will be bad for a bit. I would go Staal because he has a NMC and can barely play in the league or Smith for the same reasons. He is basically a penalty machine or press box warmer. You can even make an argument for lundqvist considering he is making 8.5 m and has a .90something save percentage, though some can be blamed on their terrible defense.
I’m a Bruins fan so I had a good feeling Backes would be your pick. I knew 100% you would say Lucic for Edmonton, poor guy isn’t very useful for very much these days.
Lol i disagree with lots of them like he said boninos contract is bad even though its very good contract and turris has the worst for nashville this guy is idiot
its not quick for La its Dion the Pylon you can not put the kings struggles on quick he has been injured twice and it doesn't help that team leaves him out to dry all the time
Bonino looking better... I’d say Turris is worse. 8 million for a second line center is a joke, considering Arvidsson is on a 4.45mil AAV and Josi on 3mil AAV
as a hawks fan this list makes me sick, just because seabrooks deal was so dumb and everyone knew it, then you see stuff like this and its like teams over pay at 3 mil, and we gave nearly 7 for a guy who was getting worse and worse every yr.......
Smith's contract is way worse for the Rangers. $4.25 mil for 2 more years and he's absolutely horrible. Boston is playing a lion's share of Belesky's contract and it's up next season.
I think Vlasic probably has the worst contract for the Sharks right now. Kane hasn't been putting up the points that a 7 million dollar player should, but at least he has other purposes such as being fast and physical. Vlasic has been pretty bad defensively and once he got injured the Sharks have been much better. Could be a coincidence, but still.
As a Leafs fan. Zaitsev is literally the only one with a bad contract and it hurts pretty damn bad with players like Matthews, Marner, Kapanen needing contracts
Watching how many bad contracts the Leafs shifted from the last era gives me hope we will be able to unload Zaitsev. You could argue that Nylander is a worse contract this year but that's because it's not a major issue to absorb this year and in the next few years when it really counts that deal will be a steal. Zaitsev is a real problem and one the Leafs can't afford. Something has to be done with him.
It’s not Jake Allen on the Blurs, as he has been good, my pick has to be Vladimir Tarasenko, who is a streaky scorer, love the guy, but don’t think he’s worth a 7.5m cap hit
This must have been made before Nylander signed with the Leafs because that is the worst contract in NHL. 10 million 1st yr and 6.9 for the next 5 years
Well when you think about price contract, I ts not really bad.. its just his team in front, bad defence, not many goal scoring, well the start of there 18/19 season, they doing alright but its a good contract for the best netminder i guess
Unless it Hayek or Roy it's overpriced for 1 goalie that has injury issues. A tandem goalie team should be under 10. Shea Webber contract is still probably worse though.
For the sharks... Kane is awesome. Fan favorite, clutch player, awesome as hell. The worst acquisition on the sharks is Erik Karlsson. I say this as a sharks fan. I was super excited that we were getting him but he has been a huge disappointment. We were expecting Burns x2. Not even close. Makes a ton of mistakes and doesn’t contribute.
Schneider for the devils? Nah, the honor of having the worse contract for the Devils will forever go to Andy Greene for me for the past few years with a 5 million dollar cap hit when he's barely worth half that.
Bro, Schneider hasn't won a single game for a full calendar year, that's horrible for any goaltender, especially one getting paid a 6 million AAV for 4 more years. So... Schneider is a good pick for the Devils worst contract
@@brandyndaigneault1758 actually he won a playoff game in 2018 also Cory at least was good in past seasons and was often leading the league in GAA and Save Percentage on a god awful team. You tell me what the fuck Andy Greene has ever done to deserve a fucking 5 million dollar contract for as long as he got, I'll wait.
As a Ducks fan I wonder why you didn't pick Corey Perry? He's been sucking for years now. Kesler is playing with hipp issues, yeah he can't score but he's still playing. But I'll rather keep Kesler than Perry.
Belesky isn’t the worst for the Rangers. The bruins retained 1/2 salary. It’s only 1.9 mil for two years. It is definitely Brendan Smith. He’s getting payed 4.5 and is in the AHL
As a Bolts fan, Price is the only player I like off the Habs, but that contract is going to kill the Habs in the long run. They should have invested that cash in some decent D in front of Price.
