At the time this was read it was down to Edmonton, Buffalo, or Arizona. I'm actually surprised Gary didn't pull some strings to get him to Arizona and maybe save the Coyotes from what has happened since.
No, that would’ve been his reaction to going to Buffalo. At least Edmonton has become a yearly playoff contender a few years after he was drafted. Buffalo has not even sniffed the postseason in a dozen years.
What about Claude Gauthier, André Veilleux and Garry Monahan in the 1960's all 1st overall pick. Have anyone heard about them? Daigle had a good hockey carren despite most of people say about him.
Pierre's worst sin was yakking over the phenomenal game-winning Eberle goal in the World Juniors. That's a moment when you don't need colour commentary Pierre! But of course he had to insert himself in. I don't necessarily think it was an ego thing, just a mistake. It makes you a bad colour commentator doing something like that. Let the play-by-play guy make his call and then shut the hell up and let the pictures tell the story.
Rask NEVER won the Stanley Cup as a goalie, Tim Thomas did. You only TRULY win the Stanley Cup if you play significantly during the playoff run that lead to a Stanley Cup win. Rask did not play in the playoffs in 2011, Thomas played all the games and won the Conn Smythe.
Ryan Nugent Hopkins deserves to be on this list. Without Mcdavid or drai to inflate his point total, he's a 3rd line player at best, and one of the worst faceoff takers in the league
At the time of this video, Campbell had two seasons where his save % was above .920. Just because it wasn't with the team he was drafted by, it doesn't make him a bust. Hickey played parts of nine seasons with the Isles, played over 450 games, and averaged 18 minutes of ice time per game. Considering the average NHL career is five years and/or 400 games, I would say he was just more average than a bust. Mueller has injury issues, which derailed his career. If you are including those who were injured and became a bust, why not list Angelo Esposito? He was considered to be the #1 pick by many a year prior to his 2007 draft. But by the time 2007 came around, he dropped all of the way down to the Penguins at #20. A year later, his rights were traded to Atlanta. Within a year, he re-tore his ACL. He bounced around the AHL and ECHL over the next two years before bouncing around Europe. Or what about Sasha Pokulok that was drafted by the Caps in 2005, who also had concussion history but never played in the NHL?
It's ridiculous that Rick Pagnutti is always included in these lists. In '67 major junior hockey teams were all in sponsorship agreements with NHL teams. and the NHL team had the rights to all the players on the teams they sponsored. The amateur draft was only for players playing in lesser leagues. Of the 10 players taken in the first round of the draft only Serge Bernier played any games in the NHL.
Mike Milbury is a damn loser and Neanderthal. 12 years later, and the scenario Milbury described still is not deemed an illegal hit. Milbury just wants to see star players with damaging brain injuries so they can be as dumb as him
