As someone who’s been a lifetime Doctor Who fan, and in the past year has fallen in love with theater and acting, I massively appreciate that this set is based off The Ultimate Adventure Stageplay.

Since Big Finish made a version of The Ultimate Adventure, (aka the play that apparently cannot be named) so they couldve done what you just suggested and included a copy of TUA.

Is there a reason why two of the boxes are gold and white while the other is blue and white?

No reason has sent given but I suspect it might be different per Doctor in future, but that’s just my speculation

@@CaptainJimiPie I second this, both yellow ones are sixth Doctor and denote "sixth doctor" on them. The odd that the five doctors set doesn't mention which doctor

Totally agree about the packaging, Hasbro are now going back to window boxes as I believe they use a recyclable clear plastic. Also does this mean we'll get a third doctor in a similar set from the stage play?

Hopefully the packaging is looked at in future . As for the Third Doctor, nothing has been said but it would certainly be a good and easy variant to make!

I don't believe the flesh tone is painted, HOWEVER the plastic used for the head doesn't have that waxy shine that the 2007 ones did, it's much more matte and in certain lights actually looks more natural!

@@CaptainJimiPie ahhh okay well thats not to bad then, (I doubt you'd have any insider info on this but) do you see this becoming a trend with figures that are more expensive to produce? Or would you be open to more figures incorporating this technique in future?

I don't have any "insider info" as I have no official connection with CO, but from a perspective of someone who also works in productions (albeit of a different sector) the simple fact that many fans don't want to accept/believe is that due to a combination of normal inflation and the lasting effects of COVID & lockdown, costs of production have risen greatly over the last few years. It's not a trend so much as just what happens over time, to break it down logically : 1 .Base materials cost more, therefore it costs more for manufacturers to buy them 2. Energy prices are constantly rising so the cost to run factories and manufacturing equipment increases 3. Cost of living increases which means employees that are lucky enough to keep their jobs have to get a wage increase So when the product gets made all of that has to be recouped, plus the company has to also make a profit because otherwise they're breaking even which doesn't help the business grow and helps with costs in the future. Figures are probably going to cost more in future but no through any kind of trend or decision on the part of the company, it's just how financial and economic factors effect things.

It’s a great set but £35 for a non electronic tardis what ? I understand the paint on the Colin figure increases the price but £15 when previous no electronic tard uses have been around £20 seems absurd

Unfortunately that's just the price of inflation, things don't cost the same as they did before. It's also worth noting too that the price is set by B&M not CO, and supposedly B&M want a little spent on the range as possible.

@@CaptainJimiPie honestly never knew the price was determined by b&m and I understand inflation increasing costs it’s just getting harder for people to collect the figures when every year or so the price increases drastically especially during a cost of living crisis hopefully in the future inflation goes down and these sets become more affordable once more
