Is this a coach? Kind of just seems like someone whose whole thing is doing the speed bag. EDIT: yeah, this guy's whole thing is doing the speed bag. Not a coach lol.
First time I saw this he made it look so effortless I wasn’t very impressed. Then I hit a speed bag for literally 3 seconds and tried to get a rhythm and just stopped and kept my mouth shut. Very impressive. I hope if I ever coach something one day I can demonstrate a skill like this
Haha yeah unfortunately three seconds trying aint going to get you there mate. Unless you've got some sort of natural freakishly good timing and speed and accuracy and know-how about the techniques without learning them first haha. Which would be pretty impressive i must say. 😂 And yes i realize "natural freakishy" is abit of a self-contradictory statement... but someone who could do that would be a walking self-contradiction anyway so. 🤪 Plus if it took three seconds to master, id be sick of it in about, two seconds. 😏
True but I learned it fast, he's not a boxer BTW but he has mastered this and it's great coordination skills that even those in wheelchair can utilise, it's akin to being able to do crazy basketball ball spinns or soccer tricks, punches on the speed bag aren't real punches they're all from the elbow and never ever will you see them in boxing altho some of the short elbow strikes could work in mma, I love Khan the speed bag legend he's awesome, also boxers use speed bag because it's great for timing much like the jump rope
@@GrimeBot-io7ho this old lard ass is fighing punching ball. human head does not behave like that. and these looks like slaps anyway theres no force in them. i think you might be attributing him a lot more than there actually is
@@GrimeBot-io7ho ur making a lot of assumptions based on vid of some old fat dude playing with a ball. could you perhaps guess a lottery numbers for me
do you think keyboard typing and punching you in the face are related past times? i thin you would get fuckin chinned as well you little pussyhole hjahah talking aobut typing as if that makes any fucking difference to anything in a fight you fucking melt@@themanhimself3
no he wasnt he's a speedball champion its a party trick for him. he was never a boxer and speedball does not relate to good fighting skills@@mymans3284
I was 15 and was hitting the bag pretty good and had a crowd watching me. This old man with a Boston accent asked to hit it after me when I'm done. This man hit it like nothing I've ever seen. He was humble and he just said you are pretty good but practice makes perfect. If I knew then that being pretty good wasn't enough.
This is what every martial artist should learn to do. The reflexes get honed in the mind. What incredible skill. First time I used a Speed bag, I got bopped hard on my face, ha ha! I thought it was so easy. It is not! I feel like a toddler learning to crawl next to marathon man, watching this man. Very impressive and beautiful to watch.
Just got my first speed bag! I’m already in love with it, even if you aren’t good as a beginner it’s still a great workout and gets your blood/heart going for sure. Love it for cardio!
@@weav10000 Heavy bags aren't nearly as good for cardio. I have both a heavy and a speed bag (replaced my reflex bag with a speed bag this year when it finally broke). The biggest difference is with a heavy bag you can utilize your lower body as well as your upper body if you choose to, but cardio is cardio. 5-8 minutes on the speedbag gets me breathing heavier and get me sweatier than 30 minutes on my Peleton or more than the heavy bag ever did. RIP the reflex bag - IMO this was by far the most fun of all the bags and as far as martial arts training, probably the best.
It is very difficult to do what he does at the speed but if you slow it down quite a bit a Little as long as you understand what he is doing it’s not really that bad
@@kemo1226 i also once had to try to make a comment like that lol since i see it alot on youtube 😁 but i guess most of them are not really serious and just like to troll that they dont get the joke
A young Irish American lad watched Alan Khan demonstrate this many years ago and the rhythm always stuck in his head. Eventually the lad grew up and started dancing. This lad got pretty good at dancing but always had the rhythm from that speed bag demo in his head. This lad grew up to be Michael Flatley. Creator of Riverdance. Source: Trust me bro.
This is insanely hard lol just trying the back and forth without mixing it up is super difficult. I'm on week 3 of trying and still can only do it slowly one arm at a time. Respect this man.
If I even tried this I would be out of breath in just a few seconds. This guy has so much mastery he's efficient and barely breaks a sweat doing multiple rhythms. Unreal.
its why 75 year old pro drummers can play way harder beats than me for 2 1/2 hours straight without breaking a sweat and i need to take a couple vacation days after playing a 90 minute gig at 29 years old
I saw this boy once like 15 years ago doing this routine and I was almost moved to tears. I hit the bag a lot. Sometimes when in the presence of such clearcut greatness, emotions become dominant. I felt kinda dopey going up to him all emotional and telling him it was one of the greatest things I've ever laid my eyes on.
@@gierno4828 dude... shut up.. playing a rhythm instrument certainly qualifies you to talk about rhythm.. at least compared to the average man since the average man does not play a rhythm instrument. if you had a problem with your electricity and couldnt get an electrician on the phone and you had two neighbors, one of which you know owns an oscilloscope and a soldering iron and one doesnt, who would you ask for help first if you knew nothing else about them?
I can't get over how calm and innate his facial expression is when he's rolling. Hell it even looks like his eyes are closed??! Regardless, this is a PRIME example of somebody at the pinnacle of their craft.
