Yeah fr like I'd be scrolling through RU-vid looking for something interesting to watch and then a Tyson highlights post would come up man I always click on it!
@blakjack3053 I don't mean this disrespectfully. I was just watching a documentary on Sonny liston don't know if he could have been able to beat. Liston was a beast
Really, if I was asked to fight a dude with 16 wins with 16 knockouts, I could only assume I was about to get knocked out. These guys were extremely brave.
1985-86 was one hell of a busy time in Mike’s rise through the ranks. What a time to be alive and witness what was to become the youngest heavyweight champion of his era.
You certainly don't see that now these days, these so called champions, we are lucky too see them fight once every 1.5 to 2yrs between bouts, long gone are the great ones, the 3 kings, Gotti and Micky Ward, my all time favorite of all Sugar Ray Lenard one of the 3 kings, he beat the dogshit out of Mayweather's father...if only it was another era cause he would put Mayweather Jr on Qweer street within 4 rounds, Mayweather would try and run but Ray Lenard would beat the brakes off of him. Mayweather is a runner...fought tomato 🍅 cans most of his life to get 8-0, what about Julio Chevez went 74-0....and what warrior...imagine Hagler in there with the buns they have now a days...the 3 kings would feast on all of these so called buns....there seems to be more belts now then fighters lololol...such a joke now
Every punch thrown with bad intention. Here he is 18-19 years old so still a child really, what a sensation he was, and boxing needed it at that time. Incredible.
Right. That was Cus's school and it had to do with a person learning the peek-a-boo style. It takes a lifetime to master the style. It took Mike 14 years to master it.
Nah, I can reference fighters, great fighters, who had had fights every week, even after they were champions. Easy to beat up guys who are not in your league. A little harder as the competition gets better.
The great Mike Tyson is the fastest KO machine in the history of boxing. At present 2022, retired from competition, Mike still retains his strength and devastating punching power. Admiration and respect to the living legend the one and only Mike Tyson!
Cus wasn't just a positive influence on MT, he kept Mike surrounded with competent people. Tyson turned into a much better fighter after Cus passed, but regressed after he teamed up with Don King and replaced his corner with lackeys.
@@bthorn5035 Cus kept him grounded, as did Jacobs. When they died he had nobody left to tell him "no". Tyson fought a combination of a Patterson peek a boo style but much stronger than Patterson. And the ferocity of Dempsey who he emulated. Both of those styles have a "you have to be at your best at all times" to be dominate. If you lose your timing even a little then you are vulnerable. He did and that happened.
I think that Mike Tyson, is and remains the most impressive boxer off all time. He was a mix of power, agility, speed, and precision. Today's heavyweights relay on power. But Mike have it all
He's ranked about #10 alltime when asked by people who really boxed. Marciano and Sugar Ray Robinson were better....and through in Joe Lewis....and none were convicted of Rape like mike.
Tysons toughest opponents where Lennox Lewis and Real deal holyfeild, he lost every fight between the two. Not saying Tyson isnt one of the greatest but Ali fought Liston twice and beat him twice, fought joe lewis 3 times and beat him twice, and also fought someone named George Foreman......and wouldn't know it he actually beat that guy too.....
I love Mike Tyson even with all his faults. After all, everyone I know falls into this category. I loved heart. A great boxer, not soon to be forgotten.
All those human beings who got into the rings to fight Mike Tyson deserved Golden Medals. I still can't figure out how their loved ones felt as they walked and climbed into the Rings. " Watching your Husband or Brother being escorted to the Slaughter House " 🏠 🤔 Maximum Respect to Iron Mike 🙌 Big Love for those poor Victims 😭😭. They really were Men with unmeasurable Guts .
Nobody realized at the time they were facing the hardest hitting, most savage, and surprisingly technical fighter of his generation. Everyone thought they could figure out Tyson, everyone thought they could come up with a plan to beat Tyson. And then he hit them in the face.
We love Mike Tyson forever and ever. He was so inspirational, and you know what? He still is! Perhaps even more so now that the wisdom of the years has come over him as well.
You were fooled by black grifters like Don King. Most of those fights he fought against bums and his sparring partners. As soon as he was in a real fight vs a real boxer like Douglas, he lost. Badly. And then he lost 4 more times vs nobodies. He wasn't a good boxer, it was basically a scam.
@@forestcityfishing4749 Bums and sparring partners?? damn, I wouldn't go that far! and you think Douglas was a good fighter? Your comment just doesn't make much sense at all... at one time he was fantastic and absolute Beast, doesn't mean he's the greatest though
Absolutely inspirational he came from the pits of the slum to the heavyweight champion of the world in six years time, Golden gloves winner, Junior Olympics gold medalist, To become the youngest champion in history, if that isn’t inspirational then I don’t know what is, bums and sparring partners 🤦🏾♂️ foh’ and dude never even Said he was the greatest, you’re just an insecure dickface being negative for no reason, if that dude considers mike his favorite that’s his right, if he thinks he’s the greatest who tf are u to tell him otherwise, everyone has their favorite. I think you need to go educate yourself with a little boxing history and research some of the people mikes opponents fought because u obviously have no clue what tf you are talking about
Watching Tyson defeat his opponents with not only unmatched power but, technical skills, I believe, not seen since the great Muhammad Ali. As well, Tyson continually went to his opponents and helped them from the mat. The sign of a true champion. To the ones that faced him in the ring, you all have great courage and, I commend you all. You should all be proud, you have earned it.
Mike had the best trainer in ol’ man “ Mr. Cus “ he and Mike clicked like the four winds that blow. If he had lived…Mike would have never been beaten, never !
Tyson, the greatest ever. He made boxing an art. They dont come greater than Tyson. So finetuned and precise and powerfull with the greatest defence ever. Agility. A force of nature. The GOAT no doubt, no one comes close.
GOAT means you have to beat or at least compete with the greatest in their prime. His win over Spinx was his only signature win over a guy who beat everybody else and was still in their prime. He never fought an even old Foreman. But no seriously knowledgable boxing fan considers Tyson as GOAT as it played out. I do consider him as fighter that who, had Cus and Jacobs had lived, with that potential. But they died and he fell apart. Him knocking out people on his way up doesn't count as GOAT.
11:24... This fight against Richardson was on my 20th birthday, (yes, I'm old :), and I saw/heard of Tyson for the first time that night. I have a good friend I grew up with that was a boxing fanatic. His brother was golden glove champion of Ontario, Canada. He saw this fight and later Somehow got a VHS tape of this fight and we watched it about a month after my B-day. Tyson was my man from that day on...
I don't think I saw a jab from Tyson during the whole video.....everything was bang bang.......and so fast.......Probably, along with maybe Lennox Lewis the last of the great heavyweights. I doubt if we'll see his like again in the ring. Thanks for posting. I'd forgotten how spectacular he was in his prime.
He had a criminally underrated jab, it was both strong and fast, also very accurate, and his opponents couldn’t figure it out, he used it many dif ways
@@DaDominicanDawg agreed. Tyson's jabs were so fast and his arms were so stout, which would snap the opponent's neck back, they were mistaken for hooks.
I said the same thing. Tyson virtually never threw jabs. He was a slugger, a brawler. No great slugger will ever beat a great BOXER in the ring. Out on the streets? Well who knows.
@@DaDominicanDawg Tyson never jabbed. Just constantly throwing bombs. Trying to demolish his opponents with one punch. Most of the time it worked because most of the time he fought guys that were scared of him. He intimidated them. They couldn't handle him. Lennox Lewis handled him with out ANY problems what so ever. None. Holyfield too.
That guy was and will always be they badest man on the planet i dont care what ever fighter came before him he is the baddest ever, they way he moves and punches he is a wrecking machine his body shots would cripple a normal fighter let alone that upper cut he is was and will always be the bassest ever bar none!
And then came along Lennox Lewis. Lennox lewis is the guy you send to kill the bogeyman. It was cruel what Lewis did to Tyson. Glad it didn't go beyond round 8.
Imagine if Cus had lived another 10 years? There would be zero doubt about Mike Tyson being the greatest ever! Unfortunately the leeches got ahold of him.
He would have gone undefeated. Mike tyson had it all. Even at a young age, he looked like he was already the champion. His combination of ring IQ, speed, superhuman strength, aggressiveness, and agility made for the perfect killing machine. This version of tyson very well may be the most technically gifted boxer we have ever seen, and when you had his insane strength, I don't know many people on this planet that would have beaten him.
7:32... Slow down the video to 0.25% at this spot and watch how this punch travelled from his face/head, then slowly work its way through his neck to the shoulders. Then down his back and down he went... WOW, what a punch....
Mike was definitely the most exciting boxer that ever lived. Just look at the way he slugs - every muscle in his body is behind every punch. And he's a very strong guy.
Pentru mine a fost și va rămâne cel mai complet boxer din toate timpurile, chiar și din viitor ❤❤❤. Respect maxim pentru așa fenomen. Nu cred că va fi vreodată egalat
cus d'amato sure knew what he was doing when he spotted mikes aggression and anger.....he fined tuned it and chanelled it through a pair of boxing gloves.the rest is history.
I think Mike was predestined to boxing without even knowing it, why? thanks to the fact that his morphological structure was perfect for the development of his type of boxing , very large skull ( head ) , this gave him a very strong neck , trapezoids etc , his center of gravity was very low which allowed him those rapid movements and elusive, and obviously a very hard training did the rest apart from his innate aggressiveness.
I agree. It was almost like destiny which is so eerie considering how perfect the stars aligned for Cus to find someone like Mike. What do you mean Mike has a large skull? Do you mean the size of his head?
@@HonorGuard117 In accordance with the rest of his body structure (body), his head (skull), neck, trapezoids, rhomboids, I observed them much more developed than other boxers with imposing physiques, only Evander, and when he was perhaps 25 years old, I also observed that his neck/trapezius was important although not even close to Mike's Obviously , apart from the physical in the emotional / intellectual , which is the Being , Mike Tyson was for me a boxer 24 hours a day , and in the ring he honored the world of boxing
Pretty much all great fighter have/had physiological advantages. Heck all professionals who made a name in any sport do. And Tyson was a great fighter. But beating up on tin cans on the way up doesn't make you the GOAT.
In my RU-vid analytics I see one of my videos gets suggested by this video, how this works I have no idea but I am thankful and grateful so I’m here to like sub and comment to show my appreciation.
A trinity in boxing. Max speed max power and max endurance. I couldn't figure out if Mike was left or right handed. His sweeping left was lethal. His right undercut was deadly.
@@SportVideosSvOfficial откуда вы берёте кадры из тренировок Тайсона? Просто мне нравится смотреть спарринги Тайсона больше чем его бои. Вы могли бы выставлять полные спарринги. А так канал бомба.
Mike was the baddest to ever lace up the gloves. Even Ali said he wouldn't fight Mike, so did Foreman. Holms had to try it out to see. It didn't go long, but he said Mike was a true fighter.. All that until he fired Rooney. He won a few more fights but Mike doomed himself. Without Rooney, Mikes only line back to Gus, he was not to long to go. Damnit! I wish he had kept Rooney! We'd still be watching him break heads!
As hard as it is, to believe, and comprehend Mike Tyson would have been even more awesome if his mentor, and " Savant " Cus D' Amato had lived..and he hadn't fired Kevin Rooney...
He has to land them first. Ali woulda destroyed Tyson 6 weeks before the fight. After the first bell it woulda been just a formality. Ali wins in round 5. Referee stops the fight. Rematch 2 yrs later. Referee stops the fight in round 6. Ali wins. Tyson taking too much punishment. 2 cut eyes. Ali wins by TKO.
@@geraldfriend256 Agreed. But Ali was not a knockout specialist. He was a destructive puncher. Gradually wearing his opponent down over time. Tyson was made for Ali. He would hsve no answer to Ali's style of fighting. Virtually nobody had any answer's to Ali's style of boxing. But I do have to say Ali was a 2 trick pony. And is tricks were dancing around the ring and his hand speed. Once these began to falter with age he was Virtually done. He should NEVER have boxed beyond 30. For my money the greatest pound for pound boxer in history was Marvelous Marvin Hagler. For my money he has no weaknesses. He gets the perfect 10.
His post-fighter interviews are revealing, Total respected for the man, very wise. To understand his intelligence during a fight, the man said he would study anatomy, the location of the softest spot to hit in the kidney area and the head. He literally said, "I aim at the center of the brain"'; therefore his crushing punches were so devastating.
