There were glam metal bands that had similar powerful yet joyful sound, such as Tigertailz, Teeze, Madam X and more, but this kind of glam metal was overshadowed by mellow AOR and hard-rockish variety like Bon Jovi and Cinderella.
Brings back great memories...saw them at Camden Palace supported by early Dogs D'amour...would love that boot...how me and my mate managed to convince our parents to let us go was amazing...my mate was still at school...i had only just left...was worth it though.. a great memory...
These guys did it the right way. Great look, heavy sound,in your face additude. Wish I had a chance to see them back in the 80's,but I don't think they ever made it to the U.S.
@ironman86wb This lot were contemporaries with Motley Crue, in fact formed before the Crue and were making waves in the Uk before we had heard of the Crue. Remember seeing them in my local dive in 1982/83. They failed to transfer to larger venues.
I went to see these guys in a pub in Stockport, UK in the early 80's.. I was only 16 and they still hadn't come on by 11pm, so I had to leg it for the last bus. Shame, I was looking forward to a flashbomb frenzy!!
Saw these guys play in a bar in Southend (esplanade),when they were restarting after their legal issues, maybe 100 people there, fully decked out show, pyro, confetti bombs and all, still one of the best shows ever even if they did set fire to the celing!
As I said elsewhere, I saw them live, can't recall where (holes in memory and lots of gigs attended back in the day LOL!). Also I have a feeling I saw them on TV, The TUBE? Those were the days, lads from Evesham, superb!
Saw this band a couple of times and the "STAKK ATTAKK" sing along theme was fun when we were pissed and on the way to other gigs. The things you find funny in your youth, eh!

I remember the first time I saw this video. The counter said 1.200 views...It makes me feel great that always more people know something about one of the founder-groups of hair metal. Maybe even the first itself! LOVE THAT GUYZ!! keep on sleazin and pleasin wherever you are!!
Motley Crue was the first glam metal band actually. Motley Crue released their first album in 1981, and Wrathchild released their first album in 1982. Both bands rock though!!
Terrific... they were great back then... but honeslty... the are way better know... if you check out "STAKKATTAKKTWO" you will be totally blown away... Wrath N' Roll... They're back with a vengeance...
In other vids from a lot 1981 they have leather pants. What if they had Jeans ? Vince wear jeans in the video of "Girl don't go away made (Just go away) " from the album Dr. Feelgood (1989)
So this is Wrathchild eh ? .. brill to see 'em again .. i am not a fan, but just looked 'em up after remembering sitting down in the back room of a fish and chip shop here in Morecambe years ago. they are brummies if i remember, very funny guys and they like chips LOL.. good fun Guys.. thanks for the good laugh !
@thehabits09 people saw it as them calling the band wrathchild cuz of the maiden song with the same title which is an early maiden classic. also, this band went sleaze glam after crue went more sleaze glam with shout at the devil. WC claims they did it first cuz they were around before crue, but their image was glam, not sleaze glam when they first came out. it's a common thing underground bands say when they were around in the same era to look noble.
@jasonbittner Sadly Our hagerstown boys DId start After the English band. Never having seen These guys live I can't say as to how they actually perform as opposed to how well their producer makes them sound in a studio. But I know how Well Brad and the boys sounded Live. Thank God Shannon got his Due and is Poundin skins in GODSMACK
Yep, these guys pre date Motley Crue by some years. As for influence, Metallica list British NWOBHM bands as influences, especially Diamond Head, M.Crue & Kiss both named Slade as an influence. These bands weren't known in the US at the time - bands go searching for influences and I don't doubt Crue picked up on what Wrathchild were doing, or at least how they looked. It's what bands do...
@MJFAN2220 The funny thing is, I saw the drummer, eddie starr last night at a motley crue gig! He was stood in the crowd by me! He looks nothing like this now, like wears sorta corpse paint. He looks cool though!
