@@noturfather1106 are you new here? He activates the recording mode on the go pro with his phone and can watch what it's seeing on it as well. You can see it plain as day if you've watched more than this video from Dave. Clear to be seen whenever he's gotta scramble for a bite.
Not even so much as a simple "Sorry". Worthless, entitled something or the other.... But Dave can say, "You should have seen the one that got away!" LOL
What's dude need to apologize for? He split the bridge pilings and is in the channel of the river, rowing with a 16 foot spread tip to tip. Dave watched him coming long enough to decide to turn his camera on and allow him to plow right thru there. Keep in mind dave is crossed up in the middle of the river, stationary. One of these clowns should apologize, but it aint the rower
@@mosescross163 or, now, hear me out here... Or, he could have tapped his trolling motor control and got his ass out of the middle of the river by 6 feet and it would have been fine. But there wouldn't be a video. And we know how yootoobahs gotta have that footage.
@@mosescross163 i mean, are you gonna yell and wave at a big ol powered vessel coming at you in that situation and make them alter their track? Because that's not how it works. Try that with an AEP barge.
Some would say the other guy did. Some would say that throwing hooks and weights into the water where people can be boating is dangerous. Fisherman don't own the water.
There are rules that I would never in a million years ride my bike on. The road around Lake Mendota here in Madison, Wisconsin and County Line Road? Just south of Denver. Both of which I rode on once LOL
In my city they took regular size streets and painted a white line about 3 feet from the edge for bicycle riders to wear their fancy tights and ride their bikes. It's just a matter of time before we see bike riders looking like squirrels on the streets.
The "bicycle's" have the same legal right to be on the road as cars do, just like both fisherman and paddle traffic are both legally allowed to share the river. The only stupid here is the guy not watching where he is going. I've almost been run down a bunch of times in my canoe by poorly trimmed fishing boats not paying attention.
@@camojoe83 This was 100% the idiot in the kayaks fault, and I dont think Dave realized how long the kayakers oars were which is what actually tapped the side of his boat.
I fish from a kayak (facing forward) - and the amount of times these guys just try to go over the top of you, even in rivers 300 metres wide, is phenomenal. They can see you most of the time too, with little mirrors, but they don't care because they want to row the tightest course possible. Just insane.
I fish a saltwater harbor where they row every morning and I park my kayak right in their lane and fish the grass beds. I’ve only had one guy ever have the balls to say anything the others just seethe silently as the go around 😅
I've seen people deliberately run their boat through/over people's lines from the bank, just because they thought they owned the whole dang river. Good job, Catfish Dave for not ringing that guy's neck.
I keep a 9 foot rod with a 3 oz sinker tied on the end of 100 lb braid and a huge treble hook about 3 ft up the line because they did that once. Now when I think they're getting too close I'll grab my rig and just hope they try again. Either someone is getting ripped out of that boat or giving me a free piece of catfish bait as they pass by. 💯 And ole trusty rusty bang bang is always in the tackle box should someone decide to reverse instead of heading back to the docks across the lake.
Bud, you'd sit in the channel right past a bridge and let a rower plow into you and then have a problem? That's a good way to find out how much of an athlete a rower is. An even better way to end up in the water with said athlete and learning that you really *can't* hold your breath *that* long anymore.
@@joef.2908 he was using his phone to turn on the camera. He'd been watching the dude long enough to decide it was worth kicking the go pro into record mode so he could get this on video instead of tapping his trolling motor and backing up 5 more feet.
Not sure how the laws work in other states, but in VA if you're in non-commercial water (basically outside of a main shipping channel) and you are anchored you have the right to that spot and any other vessels are required to maneuver to avoid you. Guy's lucky he ran into Dave, and not someone else. Also very lucky he didn't get a hook.
Talk about WTF i was fishing over at island home park this week after work and saw a plane crash into the river. It was one of those planes that land in water and as soon as it made contact with water it did a NOSE DIVE into the river. Craziest thing ive ever seen luckily the pilot was okay
He sat there, saw the guy coming, and intentionally caused the conflict. And you like the way he handled it. Lol. A decent human who isn't fishing for clicks would have just said "hey, look out", the guy would have apologized, and no conflict would have occurred. Subbing says a lot about you. If you ever see me in public, feel free to intentionally cause a conflict with me. PLEASE.
Aww. One got away. I just don't understand why people have to come so close to anchored boats when they have the whole other side of the creek, river, pond, lake to make their pass. No respect.
😂 unless you fish from a pier, the last time I checked a bass boat, motor & trailer was way North of $50K! I built my own scull out of mahogany plywood for $800.
@@ernestayo6131 "mahogany scull" lol. Definitely not a rich yuppie sport😂😂. I'm no hater tho, the water is for everyone to enjoy, whether you inherited a family business work 4hrs a week and have a 90k bass boat or got hooked on "water cycling" with your frat buddies in college.
The backup camera on my pickup truck quits working at 15mph while in reverse. It is to prevent driving backwards any faster than that using just the camera. Maybe that skiff needs a speed limiter... ☆
That's pretty fuct up. My daughter and I kayak in lakes. Whenever I see someone fishing I have both of us stop, then look to see if they're stationary or drifting. I make sure we stay as far away from them as possible. Not for their lines, for the fish they're after.
Gotta get out further than where these people are. These affluent people are pushing further and further in to rural areas and effectively destroying them. Where i live there are massive islands that dont have any accessible shoreline because all these mansions and their oversized properties literally block every square inch of shoreline. Its happening in the mountains too. Just despicable.
In some states the cyclists are lawfully allowed to occupy a lane, but it makes no sense to demand it. When they get hit they may be right, but dead right is still dead. I gave up road biking for trail riding. Trees and rocks don't try to run me over...at least not yet. LOL
@@jakemiester45 Do you really not see that he sat there silent on purpose, just so the guy would run into his lines, just so he could cry like a bitch on the video? IS that the kind of person you want to follow, an asshole who just staged a conflict that he could have easily avoided, just to get clicks? It says a lot about you.
@@camojoe83thinking society has to warn people going fast BACKWARDS is the same level of stupidity/narcissism as thinking everyone needs to know your imaginary made up gender before meeting you and calling you by that made up imaginary gender…..
@@camojoe83 nah hes off to the side not the middle, and he is not the one rowing as fast as he can the opposite direction he's looking! These fgs need mirrors on their little boats
@@camojoe83 great take, you know boats just like cars also have "rules of the road" ? This will be a shocker to you im sure but,One of them is to be aware enough and give enough room when passing that you don't collide with other vehicles 😯
It's a body of water we share. People still fish, they aren't invisible! I give fishing boats a wide berth and slow down so as not to scare the fish near them. Jet skiers on the other hand seem to love buzzing stationary boats....I've never personally experienced row-tards..
I think he knew exactly what he did. He made sure to look to the other side behind him but you know he had to have looked your way at least once so he knew you were there.
That’s why I can’t carry a gun in my boat but an old man said when a jet ski kept running around him he threw out a Zara spook and when he came back by he raised the rod so the guy ran into the line. Well he lost his spook but got a hook up.
I caught a Ranger Bass boat one time. The saw my lines out and ran right through them. He emptied one reel before I cut the line. I was glad he didn't break my rod.
That is one reason I fish in the dark. I have got the University of Wisconsin rowing team on one lake and public rowing teams on the other lake. Luckily they row away from shore
Dave was sitting in the channel and let that guy hit him for attention tho. Bullshit move. This aint no different than that one mook that goes around asia and stirs shit for attention.
Been there! While I’ve come across a few respectable ones that use mirrors and common sense, the vast majority of rowers are the most entitled delusional people you’ll ever come across. I’m rowing here; everyone should be looking for me and getting the heck out of my way…
I was out walking the dog by our local canal. Went out on the dock & one of those rowers lost track where they were and ran up on the dock and hit my dog. On the dock. Idiots
