WTF Happened To Jason X? 

Jason X has always looked like a SyFy Original to me.

Well Jason X was about Jason in outer space so they got that part right that's more than I can say for Jason Takes Manhattan where they're only in Manhattan for about 5 minutes.

Jason stalking people in a cold winter forest... That would've been brilliant!

I've always appreciated Jason X because it doesn't even try and pretend to be something that it's not. It knows what it is, and doesn't hide from it. Doesn't even waste anytime trying to tell us a Story. It starts with Jason killing folks, and pretty much ends the same way.

The part where he freezes the girl's face and shatters it is still the best Jason kill.

Jason Voorhees just wanted to go to space. He wanted to take out Leprechaun, the Critters, Pinhead, and James Bond.

Jason X is a underrated gem of a movie.

Caught this one in theaters with a few friends. expectations were super low, but my goodness what an enjoyable watch. laughing til the tears flowed. one of my favorite movie experiences from my stoned youth 😂

When I heard about this movie coming out, I thought they were making a feature length version of the MAD TV skit "Apollo the 13th: Jason Takes NASA."

Lol, the kill scene with the two girls in a sleeping bag was not only the best part of the movie but absolutely made me laugh hysterically when I first seen it. Has to be one of the top kill scenes in horror movies ever.

I sell this to one friend at a time with the following sentence. "It's Jason skewering Star Trek The Next Generation." That's why it works, despite all the flaws... because it puts this insane killing machine in this holodeck loving super science playground and the guy just gets to demolish it.

This is a fun guilty pleasure movie for me. Sure it looks cheap and nasty, but I like the futuristic setting and that its stand alone. It also has one of the best deaths in the franchise and Uber Jason looks good visually.

I have a soft spot for Jason X. One of the things I liked was that the characters were not stupid. They made decisions based on the information they had instead of being idiots. They were for the most part likeable too. Yes it could have been better, darker, but it could have been so much worse.

I actually love Jason X. I can't even count how many times I've seen it.

I really loved Jason's pre-uber look in this movie. It showed his age and he looked badass.

They should have just set it in the prison facility at the start and had him hunting people through the dark corridors.

I have such fond memories of seeing this one in the theater with a few of my most obnoxious friends. Far from a good movie, but an absolute blast if you watch it with the right people and with the right mindset!

Jason X will forever be my favorite. I watched it as a kid and it was just so goofy and fun, but still scared me. I’ll still always prefer the normal slasher films like Ft13, Halloween, even Alien, but these ones just hit different and I’m glad they were made

I'm in the minority by actually like the movie there's a few cool death scenes and that Terminator Jason look is not too bad

I ordered this from Amazon back in July and like watching it occasionally at night in my man-cave while drinking a beer and working on a model.

Saw this at the cinema with about 10 friends, I’m not even sure why so many of us were there now . Only maybe another handful of people there. Hands down one of the most fun 90 Mins I’ve ever spent in a Cinema. We all loved it. By the end my friend Sharon was shouting’ go get em lad’ at the screen.

I personally love the movie. You can see where the studio interfered or where budget got in the way. As much as it looks like a direct to video movie it also has some solid moments. It really coulda been great. But its still a lot of fun in my opinion

Jason X really has grown on me over the years, I remember renting it on DvD back in the day and me and my friends ripped on it, super disappointed by a lot of things but now I really have a soft spot for it and lets be honest Jason barely went to New York, we didn't get to see him in Hell but he sure as shit spent this film in space doing as many cliche things as he could.

I love this movie. I saw it on a Tuesday afternoon in an almost empty theater and I just ate it up. I took it for what it is and love it dearly

While I am glad that the winter story has been told in one way or another via fan film but I do wish they would have done a theatrical version of that story. It seems like there was so many advantages of setting it during the winter. A winter storm could explain why the phones don’t work or the cops can’t show up, there could be the fear of freezing ontop of the fear of dying by Jason, a whiteout could mess with peoples sight (obscuring Jason), Jason’s bloody kills with bright red blood on white snow would be beautiful. Not knocking Jason X, it’s a fun goofy film, but I would have loved to see that film.

I dunno, Jason vs Ernest would've been pretty epic. Know what I mean, Vern?

Together with part VI, Jason X is my favorite entry in the series. It's just so much fun

I loved it. I went to the theater opening weekend with my friends to see it. I remember one of my friends being like, "WTF was that? That sucked." I told him, "What were you expecting? It's Jason in space? I didn't come here for Academy Award winning film. It delivered everything I expected, and was awesome for that!"

Horror movies that take place in the snow have a great atmospheric effect of making you feel cold which gives the film an immersive quality... Not a horror movie, but I was so enthralled with The Revenant... So much so that I was literally freezing during that movie and I normally run hot....

I just watched this movie for the first time about a week ago and, honestly, I really enjoyed it. I had avoided it simply from word of mouth and the absurdity. This is light years ahead of the dreck that is part 5 and part 8

I remember watching this in the theatre. My college buddy and I giggled like little girls through the whole movie. The best of times.

Nobody play's Jason like Kane Hodder !From the way he peers through the mask down to how he breathes. He brought the best out of JASON!!!!!!!!

Uber Jason, the horror we deserved, not the horror we needed

One of the other practical fx people who helped make the head freeze rig was Bob Hall…he retired a while ago after a bad motorcycle accident. But a wonderful guy who championed practical fx big time. He also did Crimson Peak, Existenz and so many others. My father in law had the rig for a bit stored with his own goodies saved from films he worked on.

With all of its problems, I would rank part 10 above 9, 8 or even 7. I just love how camp it is.

Jason fighting a bear in a frozen forest like in the movie Reverence would have been epic

STILL one of my favorite "Friday the 13th" of the series, I know a lot of people hate it but I'm also a Sci-Fi Nerd and have a messed up sense of humor and this hit both of those points in addition to my love for horror-sure it was goofy but it was just fun😊

We all went into watching Jason X, knowing what we were going to get. Personally, I had a blast seeing it in theaters and I love watching it again every now and then.

Jason X was descent and very fun and also a very different type of Friday the 13th movie. But,I will say that the script he read to us about the skiers in the winter getting snowed in Crystal Lake and Jason killing in the winter with the snow could have been a very fun movie and a great idea. It could have also infused the scare factor back into Jason. As he was starting to get a bit ridiculous and comical, without even having to say a word. That script with the skiers stuck in the snow at Crystal Lake would have been less costly,and also they could have made a lot of cool killings,and really brought the scary back to the series and it would've been much less costly than the more much seemingly nonsensical story of Jason in outer space. I mean really. If they were gonna do the Outer Space thing,they should've had more money. Knowing they didn't have the money for it,they should've went back to the Crystal Lake in the snow story,which probably would have been much more scary,entertaining,and bloodier,also less CGI,and more practical effects. Instead,knowing they didn't have funding and still trying to cash in on a half ass Jason in space, proved to be more of a cash grab out of their pockets. And it was still a hundred miles better than Jason Goes to Hell. Which in my eyes holds the title (and forever will), of the absolute worst Jason movie ever made. Not one Friday the 13th movie comes nearly even somewhat close to how terrible that movie was. Jason Goes to Hell made Jason X look like a masterpiece. And it's kind of funny but I think it's better than Jason Takes Manhattan as well, but that's where I draw the line.

I still think this is unironically one of the best movies in the franchise. Its a lot of fun, and even though it takes place in space, Jason is still in character as Jason.

I know there are temperamental artists who want to see their visions “realized. However I think some movies are designed to fail, like in The Producers. It makes no financial sense to have sets remade, or throw out days of footage and do reshoots.

I love Jason X. It’s my favorite Friday The 13th movie, which is weird because it technically isn’t even a Friday The 13th movie and it’s so goofy and bonkers. I mean, let’s be honest, it’s a bad movie. But I love it anyway. It has some of my favorite things from the franchise, like the badass Uber-Jason and the hilarious hologram sleeping-bag kills lol. I also love it because it reversed the roles of Lexa Doig and Lisa Rider. They were both on Andromeda together, where Lexa Doig played the ship’s artificial intelligence dubbed Rommie and Lisa Ryder played a human named Beka Valentine. In Jason X though, Lexa played a human and Lisa played the android.

Dude that entire movie blew my mind. When I rented Jason goes to hell on VHS and popped it in to the VCR I legitimately thought that the last person to rent it had not rewound the tape. It was always a childhood dream of mine to see someone take a machine gun to Jason Voorhees. And it happened in the first couple minutes of the film! Lol! It was truly one of the most shocking and entertaining moments in my formative early years of watching horror and sci-fi.☠️🤯

I saw this in theater and enjoyed it for what it was, I was actually surprised to see how good the special effects were and I loved the Android as a viable opponent with the makeover, this movie was just fun and never seemed to take itself too seriously.

Among the Spy Vs Spy cartoons, celebrity impressions, and original characters, the show became known for its spoof movie trailers. One of these was a combination of Apollo 13 and Friday the 13th called "Apollo the 13th: Jason Takes NASA." Six years after the sketch aired, Jason X debuted in theaters. I think it's slightly more than coincidence...

When I saw the film and he kills Lexa Doig a few minutes into the film I thought it was a shame to kill her because she was certainly nice to look at. Fortunately, she gets to be in the rest of the film, so they didn't kill her after all.

i never understoud the hate this movie got, as a Friday the 13th fan since the early 80, it gave me everything i could dream of, and then some. i was laughting my ass off pretty much all along, one of the most perfect movie to watch baked with friends.

I remember when this came out and I was a kid. Me and my buddy snuck into it at the theater. An employee asked us for our ticket and we said we threw it away, he was like “that’s funny, we didn’t sell any tickets for this showing” 😂.

This one always seemed like a movie just to make one. I never got used to this one.

Good episode, Lance. Which do you like the most? Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason X or Jason Goes To Hell? Those 3 are usually considered The Black Sheep of the franchise. Jason X overall is a totally watchable guilty pleasure for me but it's definitely not the first sequel I'd reach for to put on if I wanna watch Jason do his thing. It's funny how this movie came to be. It does have it's moments of fun here and there but ultimately I couldn't recommend it to someone who isn't familiar with the franchise. I feel like the sequels that work the best or are the most fun are the ones that you could recommend to someone that has never seen a Friday flick and they can just sit back to watch the carnage unfold and actually enjoy it.

Jason x is awesome and easily one if the most fun movies in the friday the 13th franchise. The movie knows its b grade and doesn't hide from it they just roll with it and have fun. They also gave them a reboot option with the ending.

I love Jason X. I saw it a bunch of times in the theater. Buddy and I went opening weekend and we were laughing so hard the guy in front yelled at us “I’m trying to watch the movie” and not to be a smart ass but I said “so are we!” It’s a genuinely funny movie and has some of my favorite kills. I lost it when he started beating the sleeping bags together.

I think Leprechaun in the Hood proves what the right setting choice would have been.

This reminds me of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise😂

It wasn't the best movie, but it's one of the most fun Fridays to watch with a group of people.

I really liked this version of the franchise. I always thought they would continue with Jason vs Alien since he was in space at the end.

I gotta say the writers for X did far better than many of the originals. I mean shit it took Jason going to Space where trees do not even exist to pick up someone in a sleeping bag and smack them against one.

My favorite Friday movie next to part 6.. Has some of the best kills, its funny as all hell, kane rocking the part one last time and I uber Jason.. What more could you want.. The commentary track is where I learned Freddy vs Jason was ACTUALLY going into production
