Wow, this is such a blast from the past for me. I used to be really into following Fred Grizbowski and Team XPogo, but it looks like it was far bigger than I ever knew. I made a couple videos, too. I still have a Flybar 800 and Gravity Games Super Pogo out in the garage. I'm glad to see there are still people pushing this sport forward. (although you can't buy a Flybar 1200 or 800 anymore? what the heck?)

Oh my God, this brought back memories. In 2003 or 2004 I had a janky foam-coated pogo stick that I would try to do trick and big jumps on around the farm I lived on. I would do jumps off rusty chest freezers and thought to myself "there's gotta be an extreme scene for this."

Another great video diving into a sport some are completely unaware off but when witnessed are captivated by the high level of trick capability of these pogo sticks

I jumped on one of these extreme pogo sticks years ago , for about 1 minute... just a few big hops. the launch you get from these thangs is scarey. Landing is like the ultimate precision jump, the pad on the stick is tiny compared to a human body. The frontflips down gaps is the craziest to me.

I knew about Dan Brown quite a while ago (because he made a few rubik's cube videos way back when I was into that sort of thing) and never really made the connection that his username "pogobat" was actually due to the fact that he, like, helped invent the sport of extreme pogo.

I remember bugging the heck out of my parents to buy me a fly bar pogo back in the day.

even since you started these "wtf is..." videos, I knew one day you would do one of extreme pogo!

Regarding that world record; I got a pogo stick for christmas when I was a kid in the early 90's, I also got the guiness world record book. I misread the record as either 1700 or 17000 (Can't remember which) but it seemed attainable on my new christmas present. Well after 15 or so minutes, my excessive bouncing had heated and softened the cheap, thin steel of this stick so much it bent in half :(

I remember the first thing that sparked my pogo interest was seeing "The Unbeatable Banzuke" i got pretty good until i put my teeth through my bottom mouth against my concrete basement, i still keep the scar. Much to my chagrin, I saved up my allowance grinding out chores in order to afford a Razor Bowgo. After that thing broke like 8 times i just wasnt able to fix it anymore, unfortunately that took about a week, i havent really done any sticking since and it seems like something odd to get into as an adult.

I love this! As the Dan Brown referenced at 4:56, let me go on the record saying that Joe Verzal is the truest closest thing to the founder of extreme pogo sticking. It's hard to find documentation of his early stuff so I understand the oversight, but if you check out the "Illinois Pogo Crew" video from I believe 2003 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nZ13T-ekYms.html), you can tell that "Joe" is the most experienced of the bunch. He'd already been at it for years at that point.
