West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins and guard Joe Mazzulla talked with Dick Enberg and Jay Bilas about their team's victory over Kentucky in the East Regional Final, thereby earning the Mountaineers a trip to the Final Four.
I'm watching this today, it's funny, those outside out state just don't get it. We don't have pro teams. We have 2 D-I schools, but only one with the Flying WV..and this still brings a slight, very very slight salty discharge to the eyes of even the toughest Mountaineers of all; if you don't live here, if you don't love WVU,it's just impossible to explain what this did for our state, in the wake of losing lives in the mines,of fighting off a President who hates our state, things like this matter
That moment, when Butler injured his knee (he definitely tore his ACL and probably a meniscus) and Huggins was right there, one of the most touching moment between a coach and player that I've seen ever in college basketball. This man maybe an asshole in the eyes of the public, but he's all about his players.
First off, it's 1959. Secondly, we did not "luck out". That team played their ass off when nobody gave them a shot. Every team has its haters. In all probability, youre a Pitt/Louisville/Nova fan who is just very bitter that WVU is the last Big East team standing. PLEASE explain how we lucked out, you big baby.
