The 101st had American flags sown to their sleeves when they dropped into Normandy. Paratroops were not overweight, middle-aged men, and I suppose we are to believe they picked up English accents while they were training in Engalnd.

I thought this was excellent. I know that there will be those who will want to celebrate every little error made in filming but you can safely ignore those. Learn lessons for sure but those critiques are more about boosting their ego than be constructive. Yes, I’m sure you will review this and know what could be done a little better next time. I saw it for free and am very grateful. I obviously don’t know your budget but I presume it wasn’t large: well, you did a very good job. Good acting; excellent photography and a very interesting storyline. I love that you didn’t go straight into the guns firing - a lesson others should surely take. I very much look forward to the next episode.

Every one is an armchair critic eh , of course there is military mistakes in this short film . Even Spielberg with his massive budget made critical military mistakes so these guys on a shoestring budget did really well. They enjoyed making it and I applaud their efforts, if you want strict military discipline then join the army. This is for our entertainment and should be treated so .
@MottysMilitaryModels

Well said that man !!! There's always some armchair, KEYBOARD WARRIORS, that just have to nit pick at the efforts that these people take time out of their busy day to not only make this for our entertainment, but to then post it for our viewing !! People like the Keyboard WARRIORS are what's wrong with our Hobbies nowadays, they pick, pick ...oh ...eerrr...PICK ! a stone on the ground was slightly on the wrong side of that ant running down the road .. there will be some wholly that just can't help themselves and the attention is on somebody else and not them, so they desroy somebody's efforts which in turn can dent someone's enthusiasm and joy etc etc , so they don't bother which then slowly drops many of our Hobbies community and people's enthusiasm to watch or take part !!! Its funny how many of these plonkers rip peoples projects but arent brave enough to share their own !! bless them !!

comments are critical - but i will tell you even the highest budget films about WW2 fall far, far short of the mark on accuracy. saving private ryan - the opening beach scenes were FULL of errors. so, for a very low budget film this one is actually pretty cool - who (no matter what age) wouldn't want to be doing this ? hell, tom sizemore was 87 years old during the filming of SPR and he was about 300lbs overweight.

The guys with M1 Garands are wearing M1 CARBINE bandoliers in .30 cal. Wrong ammo. The GARAND took 30.06 cartridges! I was in the 502nd in the 80's and remember the history of the unit. There were no British guys and they are way to old to be playing those parts. I'll give them a shout out cause they filmed this. But it needed to be cast a little better and more detail should have been paid to the uniforms

It’s a movie….it’s “entertainment.” Made by an independent filmmaker without the Hollywood backers millions. You could also mention the clean shiny boots, not a speck of dirt on the uniforms, the precise wearing of all perfectly issue gear, the pristine condition of those Garands, etc, etc.. this is just nit picking. Unless your a WW2 historian as I, or a vet knowing of this era, this stuff isn’t even noticed by the average person watching for “entertainment….

What, there is 5 sub machine guns & 1 M1 Garand in a squad? Plus a captain a sgt a cpl who put these guys together? Why should there be a captain to begin with at a squad level? Where are all the riflemen? This is like a bad 70s dirty dozen or Force 10 from Navarone flick lol....

Those chin straps aren't just for looks. Tighten up your gear.

Most soldiers in that time didn't wear their chin straps buckled. They (right or wrong) thought the blast from a shell would rip your head off if your chin strap was buckled

I think civilians just got tired of us killing people in their own country. I don't think Americans are speaking Korean, Vietnamese or Afghani so I don't think we lost. I think we made a strategic retreat. 民間人は私たちが自国の人々を殺すのにうんざりしていると思います。アメリカ人が韓国語、ベトナム語、アフガニ語を話しているとは思わないので、負けたとは思いません。戦略的な撤退をしたと思います。
