Great interview, I Love the Japanese stuff and the story's are great to listen too, I can tell you and your father are nice kind men, would love to go to America and see these people & shows and add to my ww2 collection. from England.
again wow fantastic video Alex what a great collection never seen a rifle like the one that came apart in the middle and what a great man ned is and his amazing father Linford Offner all the best to you and ned from England
This collection is absolutely amazing. Together with the pictures and stories. If you haven't already decided on what to do, I would highly suggest donating this collection to the WWII museum in New Orleans.
Great man, great son, and great collection. I wish I could afford to buy it and keep it together. Thank you Alex for documenting Linford Offner's story and collection.
I don’t want to be the guy to ruin the good mood, but as someone stated previously, at least two of those swords are fakes. A lot of this gentlemen’s stories don’t add up, especially the Chinese nationalist helmet. I don’t doubt for a second that his father served in those places and sent a few things back, but he definitely didn’t send home fake swords and rifles with new production slings on them. Note that the rifles that have been messed with are messed with in different ways, definitely not by the same person. The amount of money it would have cost to ship these dozens of items home would not have been economical for an enlisted man, heck, even an officer. Again, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but lying is not cool. Why not just be proud of your father for who he was? He was already a hero.
That is mostly shit swords he has stories Those photos are collections all the soldiers had. "His dad's girlfriend" is a photo I personaly owned in a gropup of photos of villiagers so I call it bullshit also!
