After toying with the metal-boned Logan (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Ian McKellen) captures Rogue (Anna Paquin).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
One of the most popular superhero teams in comic book history finally comes to the screen in this big-budget adaptation of the long-running Marvel Comics series. Psychic Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) leads a school of skilled mutants called X-Men, a peacekeeping force to safeguard the world against a race of genetically mutated humans known as Homo Sapiens Superior. However, Magneto (Ian McKellen), a mutant with a powerful magnetic charge, has also begun to organize a team to strike first against what he believes to be a threat from humanity. When he kidnaps Rogue (Anna Paquin) from the X-Men's compound, Xavier and his forces must rescue her, even as they continue to vie with Magneto for the fearsomely strong mutant battler Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Both Xavier and Magneto also have to contend with Senator Kelly (Bruce Davison), a heartless political leader who wants a final solution against mutants on both sides. I see why people thought Storm was portrayed as “weak” in these movies. But this lightning bolt scene is one of my favorites. I think it’s a “realistic” portrayal of her power. She was being choked so lighting from her finger tips was not an option. She uses the sky and has to create a storm using the clouds and the result is a bolt strong enough to send Saber flying across the train station. I actually liked that she had to build up the right amount of energy in her strike.

What does being choked have to do with not being able to generate lightning from her body? Even if she can't breath her body is still full of bio-electricity which is what she uses to generate lightning from her body which would be alot easier for her to do in the situation

Right and she also had to make sure the lightening bolt only hit sabretooth and it didn't hurt anyone else. Storm did her thing, its an underrated scene.

Actually plot armor is a problem shared by all blockbusters. As for the film, it was one of the founding fathers of the genre and some scenes may have not aged well , but the overall movie is still great

Lol you have no idea what you are talking about. She can use her powers anywhere even in space. In fact she becomes more powerful in space because shes able to control solar flares and other space weather phenomena. Storm uses her powers inside all the time. Shes able to produce and channel lightning and wind from her own body. There is air inside a building. She can stop u from breathing in an instant. She can scramble the synapses in your brain with just a thought like she did to mr.sinister.

@@Bardim18 It's a valid criticism. Most of those people acknowledged how good Jackman was after the fact but when you are adapting something if it's not true to the source material people will react accordingly. Most of the time deviations don't work out so well, so it's understandable.

He did a good job because he's a good actor BUT, 1 crucial thing needs to be said.: he did not offer a faithful portrayal to the Wolverine in the comics personality and especially physical looks-wise. Wolverine has a much more volatile and unstable personality overall than what Hugh Jackman showed and 2, Wolverine in the comics is never taller than 5.'5". Most of the times he's actually 5'3". So choosing an actor that was a whole foot taller than the character he was going to play can only be described as a massive brain fart on the part of the producers and casting crew LOL. I don't care how much people like the way Hugh Jackman played Wolverine, he was not at all a suitable choice nor did he provide a faithful portrayal of the character. In fact he departed from the comics character a lot.

I love both versions of Sabertooth for different reasons. Tyler Mane was a lot more intimidating and animalistic, more like an awesome brute villain. Liev Schreiber was a much more interesting character and antithesis to Wolverine.

When it came to the moment in which Wolverine un-sheathed his claws to confront Magneto, it almost seemed as if he was going to defend not only Rogue, but everyone else on the train against the powerful mutant. And it also looked as though Magneto didn't even care about frightening the 'normal' people on the train, which seemed to fit his character.

Yeah, it's a toss-up between Franklin Richards, and Wanda Maximoff. (Taken as a whole, you could argue Legion, but as they're split between personalities, he can't control all his powers at once.) Also, Thanos is a Deviant, which is basically a Mutant Eternal. Regardless, there are many Mutants, who are far more powerful than Ororo.

him actually being a mindless animal made way more impact on me as a kid then if they had made him more human . i could actually understand why people were so afraid of the mutants with some of them seeming so animal like . i actually think thats brilliant . sane goes for mystique . i loved her in the first movies . when i saw her when i was younger she sticked with me for months because she seemed so inhuman . she was a fucking monster . she sticked with me for months and she didnt even say much . i hate that in the new movies they made these two so more "human" because to me they become very forgettable . i also feel there is this character development overload these days . people get so greedy . not all interesting characters need a fucking backstory . some make much more impact by not even saying anything wich is much more impressive

How can someone who can create localize or even so called "portable" storms get strangled? I mean, she can basically condensed the air in the building to localize the storm. But I think she was caught off guard because sabertooth was too fast.
