I know I’m in the minority, but I love this movie! It’s 1 hour & 45 minutes of Wolverine in his prime kicking ass! I understand I have nostalgia, but I really enjoyed this movie!!!

I'm gonna be real honest, this is one of my favorite so bad it's good movie ever. So much of the plot makes no sense, it's all rusted, the CGI can look really bad sometimes, they massacre Deadpool. And yet, my brother and I love this movie and find it hilarious. And maybe it's because of nostalgia, but I can find a few positions in this mess. The action is still fun to watch, Hugh Jackman is still cool as Wolverine, the movie is short. Hot Take: I actually really like the change they made by making Wolverine and Sabertooth Brothers. They should have saved it for a better movie. But see how similar they are as a kid, and now as an adult I still think it makes sense.

For me personally, this is what you would call a Taco Bell Movie Liev Schreiber is a FAR better and more interesting version of Sabretooth compared to Tyler Mane from X1. I overall think that Ryan Reynolds is pretty enjoyable as Wade Wilson, even if towards the end, they complete miss the mark of him as a proper version of Deadpool. I personally like the version of Stryker we get here, and how disgustingly manipulative he is. I agree with the CG for the claws was pretty rough, but likewise I thought there were multiple times that they did a REALLY good job visualizing Gambit's powers. Overall I am WELL aware that this is not a good movie, but it falls into guilty pleasure, Taco Bell Movie for me

Is it an auteur movie, sure isn't, but as a superhero popcorn flick, it's pretty nice. Saw this in theater with a few buddies, got beers afterwards, did the job. It has flaws, but the fact that it's like a 3 in 1 isn't one, the Hancock haters have the same argument and I also don't understand it. It's not a common story structure, but it can work. There's quite a few MCU movies I wouldn't rewatch over this, Black Panther being also an all over the place, video game ish, with some bad CGI movie is one of them.

I was a massive X-men fan (still am I guess) and I was so stoked for this movie when it was leading up to it. I was actually lucky enough to attend the red carpet world premiere for this in Arizona back in 2009, and seeing the actors walking up and seeing this kindof even first hand was honestly so surreal, it’s still the only red carpet world premiere I’ve ever attended. I was in denial and shock at how badly I not only didn’t like the movie, but I really thought the movie sucked. I was really trying to convince myself I liked the movie because of the whole experience, but in the end I couldn’t do it. This movie really is up there for one of the most disappointing movies for me. I always think of that event whenever I think of X-men Origins Wolverine.

When Collider interviewed Rob Liefeld in conjunction with the release with the first Deadpool movie, he spoke about how excited he was for Origins to feature Deadpool and telling the studio that. But the studio told him that the movie would be giving more focus to Gambit instead. I mean looking back on that, it's clear the studio shoehorned in Gambit because the first three X-Men movies didn't feature him and they assumed audiences wanted to see Gambit at long last, despite the fact that this was supposed to be a Wolverine origin story. Here's the thing. After Origins fell flat in its reception, I've always considered it non-canon to the rest of the X-Men franchise sans Deadpool, even if the later X-Men movies had continuity issues of their own.

I remember a massive problem I always had with this movie was that in the first X-Men, and definitely with the flashbacks in X2, it was established that the Adamantium caused Wolverine to be much more in pain when revealing his claws, particularly when he first got the Adamantium. In Origins, he just unsheathes them like it’s nothing, not even a wince and almost always a quick discharge, save for one sequence, but still no pain there either. It just feels more sanitized and not nearly visceral enough for someone as feral as Wolverine.

This movie is fun to watch, but if you continually critique this film’s plot and chastise it for its indifference to the comics, of course you’re not going to like it! Both Origins and Salvation are amazing films that take a unique path that shies away from its predecessors, while still providing great action and nice visuals. Just try to view these films as being in their own universes, different but still entertaining.

Rewatching this movie for the first time in years several months ago, it’s the type of movie that’s kind of a “marvel” how it turned out to be such a trainwreck. It gets so much wrong that it’s confusing. The special effects are embarrassing, the exposition goes on forever, the edge of the first two X-Men movies is sanded off, and of course, the treatment of Deadpool is atrocious. On the positive though, Hugh Jackman does play the character of Wolverine. After X-Men: The Last Stand and this film, the Fox X-Men universe wasn’t exactly in a good place. Fortunately, Matthew Vaughn delivered X-Men: First Class two years later. Definitely the creative energy this franchise needed at the time.

I enjoy this movie more than most people purely for the “so bad it’s good” factor it has. This movie is bonkers and stupid and awful and I had a blast re-watching it last month. I think I rank it above Last Stand and Dark Phoenix purely for the ridiculous nature of it 🤓

Imo, this is the third worst of the X-Men movies. It fumbled the ball with a lot of things, Deadpool and the rest of the Stryker team, as well as throwing many weird twists and turns. It’s not worse than the MCU’s worst imo tho. Sabretooth was actually cool too.

This entire movie is good in concept but was destroyed in execution. Logan going after revenge, wepoan X, using different mutant powers to make 1 powerful mutant, all are good ideas just got destroyed. The only good parts the entire time is Liev Schreiber as sabertooth, and casting ryan renolds as Deadpool. Even Hugh Jackman isnt really tring, hes not bad, but he nows its bad and isn’t giving it his all.

This is the most botched up execution of an interesting story I’ve ever seen. It feels like 20 different stories being told within the amount of time that it takes to tell one. It is coherent enough and none of the ideas are outright awful, besides the treatment of Deadpool, but because we’re rushing through them, they’re not satisfying or impactful. So it’s watchable, but emotionally empty and just dull.

I like the beginning with wolverine going through different wars and stuff. The scene with him getting his claws was cool. The double cross with the gf was cool. Everything else was ok to bad. CGI was terrible. Wolverine is my top 3 favorite superhero characters and they did him bad

I grew up reading all the comics this was based on, most of which were written in the 90s (Marvel Comics Presents Weapon X, Origin, various X-Men and Wolverine issues) and when I first saw this, I honestly enjoyed it. I do not disagree with the criticisms of the movie, but I actually walked out of it feeling a lot better than I did after X-Men: The Last Stand. I absolutely loved Liev Schreiber as Victor and my take on the inconsistency with the first X-Men movie was that these were two different characters altogether - as a "movie-only" gimmick (yes, they were two takes on the same character, but why not?). I also loved Ryan Reynolds rendition of Wade Wilson in the EARLY part of this movie - the greatest sin of this movie imo is that they ruined his character in the back-half (I rationalized that this was Wilson's clone). Other than that, it was a little overstuffed (Blob didn't need to be in there for sure, but it added comedic relief).

When i worked at blockbuster, all my coworkers saw this opening night and i chose to stay home because i didn't want to waste my money, looks like i was right. It's a terrible film.

Best movie ever made i mean such brilliant and creative choices made i mean it just really gets you thinking about human morality and decisions people make under incredible pressure i mean just absolutely amazing and bold film making choices here. But seriously i mean sabertooth was cool at least , i much prefer that version of him over x men 2000 version and hugh is amazing as usual, but everything else is what it is😂

Ok Sean, can you please explain to me why Logan is so much of a better film. Because to me that film is boring, depressing and literally the worst way Hugh Jackman can go out as the character. I'm sorry I like this film. Also in a lot of ways all i hear you saying is you don't like some of the choices they made and to me the ones your talking about i don't really have a problem with, and I've heard you praising the movie Logan and to me i don't understand the praise of that film, i must be missing something.. I also believe this is the most confusing film to figure out where it takes place, like what timeline is it in. Is it the original trilogy, is it after days of future past, I mean I just don't get the praise of that film. I know Im not exactly defending the film your reviewing but I don't get the divide between origins and Logan.

Both films are made for different reasons. Origins is mostly an action movie, story wise it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I see it as a way of pleasing fans with a bunch of Xmen characters. Logan was made as a character piece with more serious tones,still some action but less flashy and more grounded. You could say it's for fans of Wolverine who like the aspect of him being old and tired of his immortality. I would consider Logan more like a grounded drama than a "superhero movie". So if you like the usual superhero movie with a bunch of action, I don't blame you for liking Origins

So i've been watching every X-Men film that i HAVEN'T seen leading up to DP&W. So my journey started with this film. And maybe i'm crazy but.. This movie(TO ME) is a SO BAD, It's good. From the opening scene where the kid screams after killing his father. I knew i was gonna be watching a bad movie with a lot of weird line deliveries, plot lines that go no where, cliches left and right, bad dialog left and right, bad acting etc etc. So, i do think it's the worst in the franchise that i've seen so far. But their is a so BAD it's good factor about this film to me

Logan is better than anything in the MCU and this opinion comes from someone whose favorite franchise is the MCU. It’s one of the best comic book movies ever.
