With every bit you improve on this wagon the more appealing it becomes for a potential buyer. If it's not sold I bet it will turn out like the XW with having the rust done on it.

It's like an old Massey Ferguson.. fettle it n it will keep on trucking! I had a vb commodore that initially had a 202...after 42 years the 202 has been through a couple of bodies n done about a million klms+. I've lost count of water pumps,alternators n starter motors n distributors n timing gears it's eaten over the years. Strangely it just keeps on going...maybe because l have serviced it every 5k (oil n filter). Bit smokey now but l've got a spare 202 waiting....waiting...waiting. l love old 6's as they're sooooo simple to work on. Cheers Graham n thanks
If the crack in the manfold is leaking, it would run rough like that, and no amount of carby tinkering would solve it. Looking good, probably a good parts shop runner. Me back in the day fix rust prep it bucket of white job done.. I've never been a fan of Patin, as that's all I could afford back in the day. I never had a car without it! Before that became a thing, it used to be called look at that worn-out old bomb the guy couldn't afford to fix.

Another fix towards that 15K! If you have a problem getting the cooling system to flow get white vinegar, is cheap, let it sir overnight and really flush it well! It will eat all the rust, no problem!😅
Hi Graham, looking gr8. Did you take out the drain plug on the side of the block? Do they have one? My experience.is with holden red sixes and 253 v8's. Looking forward to seeing more🙂
you have the skills to restore the xa it would sell quick if completed as the person who wants it dosent want the effort or expense to hire someone who has those skills eh
