Yeah there is actually little to nothing that reminds me of skyrim in the trailer Like if u take out bethesdas name I would've never known it was made by the ppl made skyrim It has alot of fallout though, from settlement building to hiring recruits. It also seems to have Oblivions dialogue thing that shows up to an npc face and stuff but nahhh very little that is inspired by skyrim....
It's always fun watching EZA's reactions to games and game announcements, but I'll admit the funniest part was the massive non-reaction to Hideo Kojima's announcement that wasn't followed up with anything. Just pure blank stares for several moments haha.
I'm actually quite happy with what was shown. Personally that was a 8/10 show for me as it showed quite a few things that interested me. Also am really excited to see what Kojima gets up to as I really enjoyed deaths stranding! Quite curious to see what others think of it
@@The_fahadkhan 100% agree. Starfield is of course a huge jewel in their lineup, although I've seen quite a few red Bethesda flags during that presentation. But the rest was like "bwoah".
@@EasyAllies No worries, someone else had posted some while I was writing those too! Timed with segments (Starfield starts with Phil Spencer talking about Bethesda) rather than straight trailers.
Yes, I am almost 100% certain that you will not land on planets manually in Starfield. There is a reason why not many games have attempted that. I actually really don't want that for Starfield since there are other developers doing this kind of stuff and I want Bethesda to focus more on other aspects of the game that they can contribute great stuff to (like the Ship-Building they showed or deep companion-Gameplay...)
@@dinukrajapakse2218 I think the demo implied that you would pick it by clicking on the locations in the map they showed (since they had a circular marker that was produced onto the planets Surface)
Well it depends on what you mean by deep companion, hopefully I hope they dial back things like relationships and marriage and things like that. Never cared for it in Skyrim don’t care for it here.
I don’t know if Fortza would actually be interested nor if damage is due to what is being “allowed.” Real damage would add exponential more work to the project and all the cars they feature in the game, and the physics associated would tax the processor way harder. And for what benefit? Is the Fortza audience really THAT into damage? Generally it’s less fun to drive a damaged car. I think it makes more sense for damage to be relegated to Games where that is a gameplay focus. But I can’t say what MA specific reasons for not including it are. Maybe it’s manufacturer rules, but maybe it’s a creative decision.
@@JazGalaxy as it happens all the major car marques explicitly prevent accurate car crash damage/deformation in their licenses. If you do that you're restricted to non real world cars. They're very particular about how you present their stuff.
wdym the single player will determine if it’s a new game? it’s 5v5 now and most hero’s have new abilities. it’s already a different game because you have to play differently than overwatch 1 that’s what no one is understanding
@@David-uc6sg the problem with them just coming out a patch instead of a new game is because everything being added is so large. there’s new cosmetic features and a bunch of new maps and hero reworks that couldn’t possibly fit into a patch or else the update would be over 100 gb maybe even more. plus the graphical upgrade is pretty good if you go look at comparisons
@@David-uc6sg i don’t understand how it would be a patch taking away 6v6 and you basically have half of new characters because of the move changes to a lot of them. wouldn’t work in a patch buddy
Remember to wishlist the games you liked so you'll remember them. I personally liked: High on Life Flintlock Ravenlok Wolong: Fallen Dynasty Scorn The Last Case of Benedict Fox Ereban
Is it weird to say the things exciting me most lately have been legacy things I missed first time around coming to modern machines? I was more excited about Persona 3 than Starfield. I am more excited for the fact I have Wild Arms on my PS5 with trophies than The Last of Us Part 1. I must be hankering for the classics lately.
Easily the best Xbox show till date. Thankfully they stopped that voice saying "world premiere", "exclusive" before every effing trailer. They mixed it up a lot more. It didnt feel like only FPS and shooter games for a change. Overall a lot more variety. The downside though is these arent the kind of games I play but they are definitely on the right track.
i swear everytime i see any game that come from blizzard, there is always 90% chance this sentence will always be said. "*insert game name* is all about choice"
Solid showcase imo but not great. Game Pass continues to be the big push, which is fine, but with cross gen still being prevalent I'm not too stoked to own my Series X right now. Also, games like Hellblade, Fable, State of Decay 3 and Perfect Dark being MIA is starting to get on my nerves.
They said at the start this is for games within 12 months, so was never going to be Perfect Dark, Fable, State of Decay 3. I do wonder if Hellblade is a holiday 2023 release.
With Starfield, I'm gonna assume that the takeoff/landing animations are canned and that there will be no in-atmosphere flying, probably to stop people from attacking the world hubs from their ships. Still gonna hold out hope but I just have a feeling.
I think the animation will take place when you land on pads in cities and such, i doubt that you can land your ship inside a city. In open areas in the wild i think you can land wherever you want and takeoff without animations
happy that more people will be able to play the Persona games (well at least those that Atlus acknowledges lol). But man, as someone who has wished for a Persona 3 remaster/remake for years now, that reveal felt like a slap in the face. Obviously that dream still isn't dead but...feels further away than ever now. Other than that except for Wo Long a pretty mid show imo
@@Enigmalake they ported a compromised version of a 16 year old game. A game that layed the groundwork for its more popular successors and is heavily featured in numerous spinoffs. I don't think it's presumptuous to expect more. But hey, I still have hope for the concerts in October.
just to clarify further: fans have been begging Atlus to release a definitive version of P3 that includes all features (full controllable party, femc route, anime cutscenes, the answer, etc.) for ages now. P3P is missing cutscenes, overworld traversal and the answer while FES doesn't have full party control and femc route. So it'd just make sense to put everything together and rerelease it as a definitive edition of the game. Maybe even modernize certain aspects of the game so it's easier for fans of the newer entries to get in. Yet, after all those years this is (apparently) everything we get - P3P with a terrible AI filter. As I said before - the fact that these games will be available beyond Playstation platforms is great. A lazy port instead of what could've been for your favorite game of all time is just a bitter pill to swallow. But yeah, maybe there'll be more...
So refreshing to see people being excited and looking forward for these games rather than acting so pessimistic and sceptical about every single thing. Just enjoy the show like these people, you can get mad if the games are s**t after the release.
I'd be interested to see a timeline with all the games and their release dates. From what I remember, there's not much there for me in 2022. 2023 looks like it's going to be a cracker, however.
@@Enigmalake Not sure about those. High on life looks fun if you want to play it high, it's like the audience Ricky and Morty has that will enjoy it. I'm not saying it's not looking cool but i don't know if i can handle that much weird stuff sober. Scorn looks beyond weird, it looks depressing as hell. It's just my opinion though. There's other games like the one with the child you have to flee with and survive and that one with that little fox with wings. Those i think are releasing 2022 and it's worth a try
I LOVE the Allies and watch all their content since GT, but again their reaction videos are turning into them making self-serving comments and jokes and having discussions amongst themselves rather than reacting and giving opinions and feedback, they also talk over all the parts where presenters are talking. I really think they could improve here. L&R
Starfield simultaneously got me interested in playing it, and made me realize how far ahead Star Citizen is with some of its detail in its design. (To make it a more convincing world.)
I also don't think that Starfield is shooting for SC in any way. For example while I was surprised that the entire planet is explorable in SF I think (from what they have shown) you will select the spot you want to land and the ship then lands there for you in a "semi-loading-screen" which is fine since Starfield has a different focus. For example the custom Star-Ships are simply amazing (but also something that wouldn't work in SC). What Starfield did successfully was becoming at least a contender for best destruction in Space-Combat because before it I think nobody came close to SC
@@latech7671 Oh yes of course I should have added that to my comment, but yes they are very different games with different goals. It just made me realize suddenly how much effort has gone into details like how they use advert space or signage in Star Citizen.
@@MithunOnTheNet this chat was about what has been developed not about a finished game and the stuff we talked about is in the alpha right now and was in the Gameplay demo of SF. When it comes to SCs release I actually don't care right now as I am more interested in Squadron 42 right now (the Campaign) and from what we know through monthly reports that will still need some time but at least is on it's way now. In the end for me I will wait until the devs feel good about a game (as it is with the SF-Delay as well)
@@MithunOnTheNet Well that's why it surprised me. It may never come out. They are working on it with an insane amount of people and they do make visible progress every month. But yes it's easy to lose hope or trust in that project especially if you don't stay up to date on the little victories they achieve. Yet I found myself feeling like: wow, they actually did do a pretty damn good job with the little elements that are in place and working to some extend. Like signage, and how people would use advertising space and such, to make it a more credible world. On the surface it's still a hot mess with disappearing elevators and NPC's disappearing into the ceiling, yet it's not that easy to achieve what they do manage to make work. It's actually quite impressive.
Starfield is underwhelming at this moment because I think a lot of the strength points they hit on, are things that most gamers have moved on from. After years of massive, open world games with a ton of busy work and scattered resources, the idea of 1000 planets isn't really appealing to many people. Size is no longer really a strength just on its own. Everything needs polish, attention and meaning. You need to feel like there's important world building, or just fun stuff to do everywhere otherwise that size becomes a weakness, and everything is just arbitrarily spaced out. It becomes inconvenient. I also feel like announcing you can drive the ships you customize was supposed to be a big popoff moment when really at this point that's just expected. If you're playing a massive budget game in space, space travel is an expectation. It's early, so I'll look past the horrible combat AI, I'm sure that gets worked on, and even though it's never been a strong point for Bethesda you gotta hold out hope and make judgements on that closer to release. But nothing in terms of combat conceptually or technically seems like a step forward for them, which is more concerning. Hopefully we see steps forward in that regard. I think given their last few releases, and what we've seen so far of Starfield, Bethesda is no longer ahead of the curve. They're no longer pushing the medium forward with creativity or innovation. They're just part of the curve and if you're going to be part of the curve, you need to execute at an absolutely elite level. We'll see if they do that but I think most people are pretty worried they wont, and the more they show of this game, seems to only add to those worries. I hope they crush it with this game, I hope it's a return to form, I think it can be but like most people something feels really off.
I disagree. Still to this point nobody has rivaled hat Bethesda does. They do DIFFERENT things. And maybe some gamers prefer what those other games do instead. But nobody rivals Bethesda AT THEIR OWN GAME. Case in point, when Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 came out, everyone unfavorably compared Fallout to The Witcher because they were hung up on how good The Witcher looked, completely ignoring that The Witcher features incredibly limited player options and world breadth when compared to Fallout 4. When CD Projekt Red tried to do a more open, Bethesda-like game with Cuberpunk, people saw how hard that is to pull off and how suddenly the “flaws” were more equal when they were comparing apples to apples. You’re right that Bethesda is not going to ah e to be compared to No Mans Sky and Mass Effect, and they are going to lose that comparison for SOME gamers particular interests. But overall this is still a concept where a lot of gamers have still had their desires unfulfilled. There is ample room for a game more open than Mass Effect and yet more “crafted” than No Man’s Sky.
@@JazGalaxy dude bethesda is terrible, they cant make good games theyre always a buggy mess always broken always about quanity over quality, skyrim is so overrated and is so bad like i literally cannot even get past the fkn first cutscene with the driving since the car just flips and goes crazy and it breaks the game, its so fkn bad, the only reason ppl play it is bcs it got lucky since modders were there, f4 is not that good at all is just mediocre af, f76 i mean cmon dude even outside the most broken disgusting game in history of gaming it also had 16x the detail and 4x map size how did that turn out huh, how about the 76 bag scam? and the nuke a cola scam? bethesda should be burned to the ground and be awarded for most cancerous company in the world
Highlights are Pentiment & Scorn for me. Ready to skip anything put out by Riot & Blizzard. Starfield, looks okay. The space combat is best part of this gameplay reveal. The gun sounds are low, surface combat audio mixing seemed off in general, maybe that's volume control. Dialogue is generic, but I wouldn't call it bad, it's possible they picked lines to show off that don't grab your attention necessarily. Maybe it's avoiding spoilers? Personally, I'm over the base building and crafting mechanics. Already feel exasperated by it. Over 1k planets? You shouldn't have. No really, you shouldn't have. Procedurally generated stuff, feels like procedurally generated stuff. If you think about it, that technically is how it would feel in real life, lots of planets would feel very similar. That's why maybe you skip that feature and focus on something that feels more interesting. Lastly, it was mentioned elsewhere that the "surface to space" transition won't be in the game. It would have been cool, but it was cut to prioritize other features, which I think is a good choice. That does reduce immersion, but if you make a better and more fun game, rather than fighting the Creation Engine for months? Solid choice. Starfield overall is a bit average for me. I'm a bit disappointed by the interesting stuff on the surface, honestly. I know mods will make it better, but it shouldn't have to be that way. Bethesda stories have never been the strongest point for the games for me either. On the plus side, the space combat looks fun, a nice surprise that I didn't think was possible in the Creation Engine. I'm really curious how they managed it.
Honestly I would take Xbox formulaic games over ps4 formulaic games nowadays. Trying to replay God of war has been such a chore.. All those stories are samey with the same parenthood undertone that they know critics will love..let it be God of war or last of us..The actual stories are not there.
Perfect dark isn’t anything, as far as we know. That game is still in pre-production and the team is in flux. We probably won’t be playing it for 3 years at the earliest, in my opinion. Most likely about 5.
I counted at least a dozen games I can't wait to play with most of them being on Gamepass in the next 12 months. Of course the ponies in the comments are downplaying everything.
Great value for gamepass, but for some reason I was not getting hyped for anything. It's like a feeling of swimming in 8s, and with the time I have for gaming right now I would prefer 5 games a year in the 9.5+ range, rather than having so much AA games for "free" on gamepass.
Forza. Persona. Valheim. Silksong. Plague Tale. Scorn. Microsoft Flight Sim. Stalker 2. Diablo IV. The Callisto Protocol. Cocoon. Star field. Party animals. Dark tide. Somerville. High on life. Benedict Fox. Some 9’s in there to me. But hey depends on taste. I work with a guy who owns a PS5 and just plays GTA, Cod and Fortnite
@@Enigmalake I own a Series X this gen mostly due to supply shortage in my country, I can't get a Ps5. But man I don't know, I'm not hyped for any of that right now. I was hoping for the conference to end, I was getting bored, maybe the only hype moment was when Kojima revealed himself 🤣
I think I know what you mean. It's that one thing or two, which acts as the pillar, that is missing, isn't it. I'll take it given the circumstance and rally the team on, but I don't want next year's or the year after that to be like this.
Starfield feels like a game desperate to be something new but scared to let go of old game mechanics that have defined what it means to be an open word Bethesda game, rather than trying to create a new identity. Still optimistic but very underwhelming!!!
@@raypalmer5125 Same but you do need to be innovative to improve on what you have and with a new IP it would be nice to see something that is not just bigger with a different theme.
I hear ya there, when I saw those crawly things I was like "skyrim!". One thing I don't like is, where are all the non humanoid aliens? Having nothing but humanoids and space marines wherever you look makes the galaxy feel waaaay smaller and limited than a true space game should feel.
This is a baffling point of view. Here is the reality: Any game that sells as many copies as Skyrim means thousands of people bought/played it who are not actually its audience. The people out there saying “Bethesda games need to stop being Bethesda games”... go away. This was never your genre. Sorry you got swept up in it.
I will not willingly take a second look at Starfield. I can almost guarantee this will be the last time Bethesda will be allowed to make a game with this engine.
4/10 lots of poor musical choices xx millions of players not too interested in most of the games But: Nice Silksong gameplay and Persona 3 Portable and P5R PC are good gets Good Sea of Thieves song even though I've never played it
I’m not sure I know what IS for me, anymore. But yeah. If I see one more game with reality show reject “ normal people” armed to the teeth and making Marvel quips, I’m going to quit the hobby altogether.
Well the problem is that they were focusing only on games that are scheduled for release within next 12 months...and sadly most of their 1st party games still arent and it also meant that we didnt get any big new announcements, aside from that Kojima game that we know nothing about except its gonna use Microsoft's cloud services I mean I can see why they would focus only on games coming in next 12 months as making presentations from games that are still very far away would in most cases be waste of time/energy. some CGI teaser trailers do very little to create any excitment and if gameplay is shown from game that is way too far away, many things could change....take Everwild for example that got its development rebooted But still, its supposed to be Xbox Game Showcase and when you show up with only stuff we already knew about anyways (2 delays from 2022 to 2023 and Forza Motorsport which even with its new technology is still "just" a racing game) its not very inspiring show. I mean one can say atleast indie games got lot of spotlight in this, I know my friend mainly plays indie games these days as he feels triple A games are too generic/not innovative enough, but I know many people were hoping to see more of Avowed, Hellblade 2, maybe next Wolfenstein, State of Decay 3 and so on
I personally just can't get excited for any Bethesda games due to their track record of bugs and just having each game be the exact same thing, just bigger.
That’s a weird take. Each of their games is dramatically different than each other. Each elder scrolls game has been DRAMATICALLY different and more complex than the last. Fallout is dramatically different from Wlder Scrolls due to VATS as well as it being a low rent FPS. The idea that they just make things bigger is silly.
Antti Mört I think I know what you mean. It's that "Bethesda feel" which has been debated for decades. They earned a cult following while others can't get along with it for long.
I don’t think it’s that at all. I think people just want different things. I praise this show for new franchises, but even those games devolved into feeling like well-worn tropes. The mech game that suddenly turned into farming simulator? That’s was immediate hit to miss for me.
Well frankly you have no need to buy an Xbox because everything is on Gamepass. I’m an Xbox gamer now, apparently, and I play everything on my Mac with a PS4 controller...
@@JazGalaxy The point is: I like my games on console as physical discs. I handle it like this on my PS4, my PS3, my Xbox 360 and my Wii U. And I wish there is a reason for me to buy an Xbox Series X. This show was very mid. A couple really unique things, but everything else is the usual middling shooter/multiplayer drivel. Persona on PC is a great start, and Starfield is supremely underwhelming and looks primed to inspire disappointment.
How in the world you show that game is a huge problem. I don’t think they did a great job. Modern gamers tend to have no idea how games are made, so you no longer get credit for being a role playing game that is simulating a dozen genres that you can swap between as your adventure takes you. People want to compare every genre to games that are dedicated versions of that genre. The idea that it’s a completely unreasonable expectation doesn’t even occur to them.
@@JazGalaxy modern gamers are the smallest and loudest barking dogs. There's a reason why Skyrim is still popular, why Elden Ring is being compared to 11 year old Skyrim or even Zelda: Breath of the Wild - none of these games are technical showpieces yet they're still very relevant in a way games about exploration are being made and Starfield will be another game others will be compared for years to come. It will be another game people will play and mod for years to come. It looks way better than Skyrim, better than Fallout 4 - that's all it matters.
The only thing that i have to say is that starfield releasing in 2023 only shows that star citizen is more than a distant dream than anything else. In a world where , elite dangerous , no man sky and now star field are on the scene , star citizen needs to step up
No, that's the reason they've kept pushing it farther away. Its like Duke Nukem, except the company behind Duke Nukem had to go bankrupt for another company to make their game. I might be forgetting Duke Nukem's details though, so take my statement with a little grain of salt. Its been documented before though.
But something as poor as no bullet impact is not good enough, they just can't do FPS at Bethesda, none of those shots felt like it was impacting the target and just felt like a paint spray can. The movement as well looks so sluggish.
@@Scarran lol I think with mele it's easier to get away with though because the sluggish feel is down to weight ect but I hope I am wrong Starfield as a premise is my dream game

Flintlock and Forspoken look like they play like completely different types of games. I only see two major similarity and one of them is the shoulder camera.
The Allies being so meh on Starfield is kind of deflating. This looks like the space game we all dreamed of as kids, and now that it’s in front of us you’re all like “meh it’s Bethesda.” Video games coverage has just gotten so dismissive and cynical these days.
@@ThisAlbino I don’t want them to lie. I’m not even asking for them to like it. If they don’t I’d like to hear why. But all they really said on it, both during the reveal and in the post show, was “meh Bethesda who cares” and basically moved on. It was the biggest demo of the show. It’s one of the most anticipated games coming out of Bethesda and Microsoft. It’s incredibly ambitious. And yet it feels like they just waived it off. I’d rather hear their takes on the game than have them be so dismissive. There was so much for them to talk about, but they just didn’t.
Its weird to me that you present a racing game and all you do is concentrate on other stuff than the racing itself. Most games look good nowadays so i dont see the point here.
I can’t decide if this was a boom or a bust for me. I definitely saw a game or two that I want to play. But if you squint your eyes and subtract the very specific details of each game, this looked like it could have been any Xbox show for the past 20 years. “Gravel voiced buzz cut white guy has been replaced by ethnically ambiguous dark skinned woman. This is truly a new era of gaming.”
I think the most upsetting thing about this is all the big games shown either had no dates or were slated for next year. Silksong, Redfall, Starfield, Diablo, Forza, are the big names of the show and none of them are this year. They each look incredible though so the future is bright. Just wish there was something 'big' dropping this year. Besides that, it was a pretty good showcase. The games look fun and it was just trailer after trailer, no fluff. Plus the games that aren't 'massive releases' look super dope. High On Life, Scorn, A Plague Tale, even the Riot Games deal. Game Pass is literally the best value in gaming, such a good deal. I can't see the price staying at what it is for long, but if it does man is it going to be absolutely massive among everyone in the world. It's becoming hard to not recommend it to people.
