Man that was one hell of a great clean up and repair job. Your soldering looks perfect and I am really impressed with your skill as a technician. I had to take my One X to get this repair and I am waiting on them to complete it and hopefully they do as good of a job as you have. I am almost tempted to take my xbox apart once I get it back to make sure they didn't make a mess of it like the 1st person did to this one.

I love how detailed and informative your videos are. I have been doing little soldering jobs for years and have never really tried micro soldering but you make it look really easy (though now after trying it I know it's not). After watching your videos I am definitely ready to give it another try.

You can be glad that the retimer chip was not glued back with super glue... it burns your eyes out when you solder it... my experience of a similar case.

Just say it's not fixable in this case ( this glue is very good for your eyes (and your eyes are very fragile)

Advice: In cleaning pads for a Imac LCD connector replacement my solder wick stuck. I had plenty of flux and heat. After getting it off My pads are okay, but my 63/37 solder isn't sticking well. Any tips on reviving a pad like we'd do with a oxidized solder tip? You make things look easy:-)

Sir I have watch a few of your videos and I enjoy watching your knowledge on these items, you done a video on and Xbox one s that would turn on and turn off again due to a water spill, I have an Xbox one X that is having the same power issue but there was nothing spilled on my machine. I went on vacation and returned and when I returned this is when this issue occurred. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in again a different power source and both 110v and 220v but is still doing it? any suggesting's?? would help thanks in advance.

Bro I just did a retimer replacement on my console. Did it without a microscope and kidna crappy but fine station. I didn't rip any pads neither do any damage. And I thought I had the worst time ever, but looks like I could have had worse 😅😅😅

Hi, have you had a xbox one x with partial power you could upload? there is no one working on the x with this problem. I got one, blips power like a short on the output of a mosfet but can't find a short.

you need a quality tip and no damage, also needs to be clean, and good flux and right temperature that is all

The prior repair guy didn't even bother cleaning up. And these butchers have the nerve to charge the customers anyway. I've done rework on "factory repaired" equipment, for which clients paid big money, due to the soldering was worse than my soldering when i was 10 years old building model railroads with a cheap, Radio Shack soldering iron. I try to make my repairs indistinguishable from a NEW board (if possible). But when it's a big mess, I borrow tricks from NF to make a 100% functional repair that is as pretty as possible 👍.

In Vietnam, we have a lot of professional electronic repair shop. The technician who repaired this circut board will be fired if he's living in Vietnam for lacking of skillfulness and responsibility. @@bocao73 I think he uses a Fluke 170 series (or 87V 😊), but you can pick up a cheaper alternative from Amazon/eBay. A basic one will still give you the ability to test SMD caps for shorts, and for continuity.

So many red flags there... That chip was not replaced at all, looks like they attempted a reflow at best. Even so, I don't know how a "professional" can leave a PCB so messy. Even if one can't solder well, at least clean up the flux!

Investigate "surface tension" Solder wants to gather up when melted. It will travel from a place with too much, the tip, to a place where it is needed. It is like water soaking into a paper towel. Another word to investigate is Agglomerate. I hope my memory is still good and I helped. CM

@@calvinmientke3539 true, but the tip keep oxidizing and its pain like if higher temperatures like 400-440 Celsius the tips easily oxidizes, and needs cleaning every time, but when lower than 400 there is always a problem of so called "cold solder joint" i should have clarified😅

Holy crap. I cannot believe people do this crap. Also it seems like alot of these other "shop" like to just leave flux everywhere, and dont even clean up. Its crazy to me.
