Online will still be quite bad. Because it's online. Online mmo load times are always bad. What they could do is load a mini game or something small first, and the whole world in the background. but nope, it's lazy
@@vincentthibeault7452 No, the point of consoles is to sell them at a huge loss so they can recuperate costs through online membership and their own stores. With a 500$ console you HAVE to buy games, pay the monthly fee, while on PC I can download and play cracked games, or buy keys massively discounted. All of this brings no money to the companies building and selling PCs.
Those quick GTA V load times would have saved me out of some sticky situations when i was younger. Especially when my parents were around when I was playing 😂
@@buritobomb it's still a piece of shiiiit what are you talking about no amounts of updates can fix what a giant failure that game was its not what they said it was going to be they'd have to take the game out the market and fix it from the ground up while we pretend it never released lol
Other tests I've seen put it at about 1m10s from the splash screen. The 5 second load time is only once you've loaded to the menu, that still takes awhile if it isn't preloaded.
@@asperbergers7136 fr these people buying whole new consoles when they could just upgrade one part of a pc every few years and always have no load times
When traveling regions, gotta spam X as it finishes loading faster than the story recap finishes, but won't transition to the game until the story recap is done unless you press X. So that's faster than perceived if you don't hit X.
I'm looking forward to the coming optimizations to some of my current library faves, but especially the new games tailored for Series X that are on the horizon!
True, things like gta loading screens can suck and die, but single player games and the type really gonna miss those lore loading screens or loading screens with beautiful artwork
The scary thing is that it's not. EA will artificially extend it to play full commercials while you supposely wait for the game to load. (i forgot to mention 2k)
@@osrsjeemo8151 Had anniversary for ages but never really played it as I was too young to understand. Played it recently this year and it's pretty fun actually.
I’ve heard the load times were almost instant but I’m really glad you actually showed it. I remember starting up GTA V on the Xbox 360 and I always would go to the bathroom and grab my phone charger etc while it was loading lol
@@shanelambert6985 online doesn’t depend on the speed of the SSD, cause it needs to connect to servers so it’s all down to if gta has good servers, which they don’t, so it will take much longer than story mode
The main talking point about quick resume should not be just to switch between games. That's great don't get me wrong. But the main thing is that if your console is off(in instant on mode), you can literally jump into any game using quick resume which makes loading screens obsolete. Most reviews seem to miss this for some reason.
That already existet on the Xbox one tough. Your game would Pause if you turned youre xbox off and you could instantly start playing. So it isnt a new thing for the Series X
@@lightfire3606 it was only for 1 game. The last played one. And it only works in standby mode. You can turn the power off on the series X and quick resume would still work
Since the ventilation is right on the top, if you keep it vertically, won’t dust easily get in those huge holes? I’m a bit worried about that fact on a medium to long term ..
As a ps player I’m very impressed but I’m sticking with a ps5 until I can also get a Xbox I hope those who get the Xbox truly have a great time with it
Hey Jake I really love the channel, the videos and the way you guys approach content. Probably my favorite review channel! That said and I don't want to sound ungrateful but like I've been waiting on this pizza forever man.... ;)
I do want to say that I remember how big it was going from 360 to the one for display, but I’m sad to see this new console doesn’t have a different display than the one
@@Max-im3ik Graphics already hit the point of diminishing returns years ago. They'll just keep upping the resolution of textures while not compressing them, leading to a ballooning install size.
Microsoft Flight Simulator had already been announced that it is coming to Xbox. I think it’s only coming to the Series X, but it could come to the Series S too. It is not currently out on the Series X, but rather coming out on a later date. Hope this helps!
The load times for online will be nowhere near as quick as shown in the video. This was only for single player, which already had decent loading times previously.
@@Gyro___Zeppeli not necessarily, since loading into online relies on much more than purely disk read speed. It will definitely be faster, but you'll need to see for yourself how much faster it will really be
I love both Xbox and Playstation. I haven't had much time time with the last generation consoles due to work and school. I recently stopped working to go to grad school full-time and I was lucky enough to get a series x. Playstation was my first choice but after playing the series x I converted to a xbox fan boy. I'll be buying a PS5 as well as soon as u can get my hands on one, it going to have an up hill battle to win me back though.
I’m interested in the sea of thieves load times. Those are the difference between defending or loosing your stash sometimes, especially when you are up against pc players
I have one simple question. Are you able to put music from a cd on the Xbox hard drive like you used to be able to on the Xbox and Xbox 360? I liked being able to hear my own music while playing games.
It’s been a year since it’s been out. Mark my words, the prices you buy the console now. The prices of consoles we’ll buy in the future will cost up to a grand. You guys are bending over for them literally
Schmelly G yeah when really the only ones who actually own one are either youtubers, privileged individuals, or lucky souls who actually managed to get one
@@pedrosanchez2352 the non digital ps5 is pretty easy to get the only hard one to get is the digital one my friend pre ordered the non digital one and it was pretty easy to cop one and that was on pre order day so i wouldn’t imagine launch day which i think should be easier
@@NewAgeSlaves it will, but physically for shelve stocks there will only be 10 per retailer (when they restock i don't know). So basically, you have to camp the night to get one if your lucky.
When he said daily life he means it. Spending some quality time with the next gen consoles. For me that will be with the PlayStation 5. Anyway great review on the Xbox Series X, I’m excited for the people who play on Xbox.
When you load your profile does it show all content you own even if it’s not downloaded or do you have to go find your old 360 content one by one and redownload?
Hey there, i have been watching your videos for quite some time especially the xbox series S ones... I would like to inform you regarding something you have failed to mention and that is regarding the game sizes, for example sea of thieves was supposed to be about 17gb on xbox series S and 47 gb on xbox series X, but since I'm an xbox series S owner, i can confirm that the size of sea of thieves on series S is 46gb... Similar stuff was also announced for Gears 5 but nothing has happened yet, so i request you to check the sizes on both series S and series X, since you are making videos on both of them and make a comparison video.. because microsoft was beating a lot of drums regarding smaller sizes for games for series S... In case you have mentioned this and i have failed to notice please do lemme know
@@kor9 i know the ps5 is going that route but I don't think the xbox series will be online only, my gamestop told me they will have a few instock that aren't for pre orders and so does wal-mart. However it could have changed from a few days ago.
Is worth uograde from Xbox one s to new Xbox series if i only have 4K TV with 50Hz? The other issue is when i play Xbox on projector im using optical cable that is connected from Xbox into my logitech 5.1 sound system. How do i connect the sound when it does not have optical out? Any audio converter will help ? Im in hard decision should i buy the new Xbox x or stay with old Xbox one s.
I can't wait for fable 4 ! so I wait for more games and stick with my ps4 until the new halo and fable come out. Great video! I have had an Xbox since 360. How is Xbox's ultimate game pass is it worth the cash?
You guys should do a video on reviewing the best TV/Monitors to pair with the series X & PS5. This is the only thing stopping me from getting a next gen console atm
If I have a game on my xbox 1x, say Forza Horizon, but I don't have the disk, I bought it online, can I still play it on a Series X? Or do I need the disc for the backwards compatibility?
I'm definitely a bit late to the party but I wanted to watch this video after recently getting back into gaming and buying an Xbox Series X. I'm loving the console, I'll always be a fan of their eco system and I just enjoy my time using an Xbox. I'm a huge fan of the quick resume feature! Brilliant video!
I love both consoles, they look great, they're powerful and they're both beautiful pieces of engineering and both of them can ,and will, entertain us with thousands of hours of awesome gaming moments, and as a mainly pc gamer, I respect the accessibility and the comfortable gaming experience these consoles will grant us 👊🏻🔥
@@lightfire3606 it doesn't matter much now since PC & xbox are united. can't afford a top end 3k PC, just use the series X for a few years. i just grabbed a xb1-x last dec so not sure what i will be buying & when, still need a new TV for hdr,120hz & 4k.
So refreshing to hear a non bias opinion I don’t get the fan boy dissing it’s old hat there both a step up from previous gen and as you already said will both no doubt be capable consoles 👊🏻
One big thing being missed about quick resume is that it works even after the console is turned off or unplugged. For people who are busy and have large families, they can just jump right into the games without losing much time.
I wasn't even planning on getting the new Xbox. My plan was to get the ps5 first but when I went to target and they had 6 of them in stock, I bought it cause I knew I wasn't gonna get another chance for awhile and not only do I feel super lucky but I also feel like I made a great purchase. As someone who skipped the xbxox one last year I can safely say the Xbox series x is 10/10 worth it
Bought ps5 day 1....xbox series s 2 days ago but im returning it bc I just found the series x in stock (1 only) and I got it 😁 all without pre order or bots....maybe I should make a video? 🤔
What happened to the extra HDMI port in the back that the Xbox One had? You had the capability to bring in another console or cable box to the Xbox one instead of using an expensive receiver. Any thoughts why it is gone in the Series X?
Microsoft likely based its removal on customer usage data from the One, determined that it was low, and not worth keeping. Remember, the HDMI IN and Kinect sensor ports represented philosophies that weren’t always aligned with a pure gaming focus, something Phil Spencer sought to return to. So the designers likely had a mandate to remove all vestiges of the One’s “TV, TV, TV” legacy.
As per your experience, if I want to update my TV Sony 55” 2015 4K and I got my Xbox Series X. Which companion will be good in the range of 55-65”? I want to get the best quality from the new Xbox.
Something ppl dont talk about with quick resume is the main perk about it which is hopping back in your game after youve turned it off and then come back the next day and turn it back on with quick resume!! Its an amazing feature and you have to expirience it to truly appreciate it:)
This is the best Series X footage I've seen so far, thanks guys! Really impressed by the loading times! Can't wait for the PS5 especially, but I've got Series X preordered too.
you can use quick resume with just one game too, it doesn't have to be multiple games. it means you'll skip all the intros and loading screens straight to the game.
