Today we're talking about movement in XDefiant, and the fact that the devs have decided to nerf the bunny hopping, that has been a hot topic among XDefiant gamers recently. Advanced movement is important in shooters today, but there hasn't really been any sort of penalty when spamming the jump button in XDefiant until now. ★ ABOUT THE VIDEO:
Talking about the "abuse" of bunny hopping in XDefiant, and what the developers has decided to do in order to balance this style of playing in a game such as XDefiant!
XDefiant is an always-evolving first-person arena shooter with fast-paced movement similar to other arcade shooters such as Call of Duty.
The mode features 4 factions each with special abilities known as "Defiants", with a unique loadout system that allows for in-depth personalization for weapons for many playstyles.
Factions
Factions equipped with a Passive Trait, 2 Abilities (one of which can be equipped only) and 1 Ultra ability that must be charged up. There are 5 Defiants in total, each originating from a Ubisoft original and focusing on a key mechanic:
-Cleaners: Cleaners are great for dealing lots of damage, with their entire setup focused on dealing damage using fire.
-Phantoms: Phantoms specialize in rushing opponents and defending objectives with their setup focused on shielding themselves and their allies.
-Libertad: Libertad is a faction specializing in healing themselves and their team, keeping them alive for much longer.
-Echelon: Echelon is a faction specializing in stealth and recon with their setup allowing them to sneak and reveal enemy locations.
-DedSec: DedSec is a faction specializing in hijacking enemies and giving them a disadvantage in battle, with their setup hacking enemy tech and copying it.

It's to much people bouncing around like they are on fkn space hoppers, the echelon needs needing aswell their ping is just so op and the fact they have permanent suppressor is so overpowered

@@MXSASHI This isn't a skill issue. It's about "abusing " the bad desync in the game, getting much harder to hit (hit detection), by continuously spamming the jump button without any implication or punishment. There was aim sway in the playtests when b-hopping repeatedly , and it will now return now (a nerf, if you will). I think that's the way to somewhat balance the bunny hopping, since I don't believe it should be taken away completely in a fast arcade shooter like XDefiant. But this would have been a minor issue as well if they had been able to keep aim sway when bunny hopping also at launch. The other problem causing this discussion or "outrage" when it comes to b-hopping is due to the bad netcode in the game, so shots aren't always registered as they should when the fast movements/jumps and air strafe comes into play. I hope they'll be able to improve that (netcode) as well. Cheers :)

@@MXSASHI I hate gamers like you with a passion. Abusing the system to give yourself an unfair advantage because you cant win fair 1v1 fights is cowardly and a skill issue. I can outgun any one while sprinting or using normal evasive maneuvers but bunny hopping should be nerfed.

Yes, although I think that it should "kick in" a bit earlier, maybe after the second jump when it comes to aim sway.

Agree, it didn't do much...The sway or whatever should start at least after the second jump already. This is one out of many problems when it comes to XDefiant, which now has lead to the fact that people aren't playing the game anymore.

The ACR/Snipers and the MP7 all need nerfs its getting annoying with those 3 guns

Well, the snipers will get flinch in the next update (soon). I guess they'll look into other classes and guns as well as the game is now progressing further.

flame rounds don't bother me as there are only a few guns that benefit from it.

@@40splishsplash they should make it so that you run out of energy the more you hop, so slowing down in distance and speed. Multiple hops will make you run/walk slow. Imitating exhaustion. Also aiming should be worse if you hop. It seems like its more accurate when you hop

@@Bloodklot I understand how you think, and maybe these are good suggestions. I mean, aim sway kicks in after 3-4 jumps, but what I don't like is that you can actually aim down sight while jumping. At least I believe that's the case in XDefiant, and I don't think you should be able to do that.

i dont really have issues with people jump shotting what i dont like is when people jump shot and proceed to jump about 4 times after then add a few sliding canceling in it just seems excessive

Bunny hopping should be a thing but I’ve noticed I almost never die from cleaners abilities which seems pretty broken and I’d be pretty mad if the roles were reversed. I’ve even bunny hopped through flamethrower a lot longer then I should have it’s like your immune, prob works for nades as well.

Yeah, you start to wonder now that we know how little it helped out, meaning taking care of the jump spam. I wish they consider to add aim sway already after the second jump.

Yes, it will happen. I guess they'll add what was meant to be there already at launch, meaning aim sway, when "spamming" jump repeatedly.

Play titanfall or quake champions if you want movement.

@@internetmeta True, I mention Apex Legends in the video as a more "modern" movement shooter alongside with Quake titles. However, you're perfectly right; the movement in Titanfall was amazing, and as someone that are foremost playing as a sniper in fps games, it was extremely satisfying when you started to pull off nice shots and kills with the Kraber sniper while moving (grapple hook etc).

Lol I just learned how to do bunny hopping today omg what a blast had so much fun doing the players complaining about should learn how to do bunny hopping is so much fun once you learn it which is easy to do on Xbox I can say that I promise that all the complainers will get that dopamine rush once they learn how to do it it's so much fun to do I used to be one of them complainers except I didn't go on forums complaining about it lol

Thanks for your comment! Nice that you're enjoying some b-hopping. Yeah, it's a part of the style of gameplay you see in many modern shooters nowadays. But the aim sway punishment when spamming the jump button should have been there from the start (at launch) as it was in the playtests, then it wouldn't really have become such a hot potatoe kind of discussion. But now they'll balance it properly soon alongside with other "nerfs" in the game.
