XDM Elite 3.8" Whoops M&P 10mm 4"... by a long shot! 

People might hate on Springfield, but their guns are reliable AF and very accurate, best bang for the buck gun you can buy on the market. Eats EVERYTHING. Thanks for the great video and your time and resources to benefit all of us viewers!

I have both the XDM and the M&P 10mm. I have not had any issues with the M&P with several types of ball and defensive rounds through it, other than feeding with the M&P45 mags. I will say my optic snapped at the screw heads, I should have used the Holosun screws instead of the Smith provided screws. The XDM is rock solid, and the META trigger is amazing. The mag in the configuration out of the box is 11 rounds +1 and 10+1 with the flush plate. For me both are winners.

Man I have watched a lot of gun yt channels over the years but this channel quickly became my favorite, you know what you’re doing, and you are a good shot, you deserve to be making money off of your channel, keep it going and don’t abandon it and the benefits will soon come

As a fairly new handgun shooter, I had no idea of the stigma some people have with Springfield, grip safeties, etc. I’ve always loved powerful rifles and gravitated toward the 10mm caliber when I first started shooting handguns. I fell in love with the Springfield XDM 10mm 5.25”, my second handgun purchase, so when I realized this 3.8” version came onto the market, I bought one as my EDC. Love the round, love the gun, and really appreciate the thorough approach of your review! Great stuff…you have a new subscriber!

That was the best yet on the Springfield 10mm. Ok let’s go back a bit. When I first heard about the new 10’s coming out the M&P & the Springfield, I had my heart set on the M&P, I had really high hopes for the gun. But after seeing your review and others on this , I was let down. So I opted for the Springfield instead , and now after watching this I’m so happy I did ! You did a great , awesome job on this video! I haven’t shot it yet , just got it a few days ago and can’t wait. Great video gobble,gobble sir 👍👍

I have one of the Springfield XDM elite 10 mm compacts, with the hex dragonfly optic. The flared magazine well is removable, and you can also put different back straps on it to adjust it to fit your hand better. I removed the flared magazine well and absolutely think it is 100% better. With the extended base plate on it fits my hand perfectly, not to mention it does make it an 11 round magazine. I have also put a few hundred rounds through mine, and I’m still waiting on my first malfunction, regardless of ammo or velocity. Hope this is helpful information to everyone.

Just picked mine up today. After watching this I can't wait to shoot it. My came with the DRAGON FLY but not installed but will be for sure. When I got home my 1000 rounds of 10mm had been delivered. Excited watching your video

If you remove the mag funnel it drastically improves the grip. I had the same issues on grip and when I finally popped that wide mag lip off I was extremely surprised as to how much better the grip was with the wide mag caps. Plus you can use the 15 rounders to make a full size grip if you want too. Great video!

I hear Springfield Armory has discontinued their old XDM 10mm models, hopefully to introduce a big brother to the XDM Elite 3.8 10mm. I was impressed with the performance of the little XDM-E. That grin on your face after the first mag tells me you were too. The M&P 10 just fell to my "B" list.

MAN...I'm really glad I found your channel!! I purchased my very first handgun in 2020 bc I needed protection while camping and cross country travel. Went with a 3" .357 Kimber K6s for the "stopping power" as compared to 9mm and I wanted the safety/reliability of a revolver. Fast torward 2 years and I finnaly admit that the felt recoil is just too much to get back on target quickly. 9mm just does't impress me, so I looked into 10mm. S&W M&P 10mm was at the top of my list until I started seeing videos (including your channel) that put the reliability in question. Settled on the SA 3.8 XDm elite based on reviews. The testing on this video really proves the reliabilty of the SA. XDm is on it's way!! Great job and many thanks!!

I had a Glock 20 at one point. I hated how uncomfortable it was to shoot, so I sold it. I saw this pistol, and I was hesitant to get it because I figured with it being smaller, it would be even more uncomfortable to shoot. I liked the way it looked, so I gave it a chance. Boy, was I wrong about it. This thing is so easy and manageable. It is a great compact option. Thanks for the review. In enjoyed watching you blow through all of that expensive hard to get ammo.

I just took my brand new XDM Elite 10mm out and shot it for the first time😁. It was not as snappy as I was afraid of. It ate everything I put in it from practice ammo to Hornady custom and critical duty to federal HST. This is now my new bedside gun. I love it. Have to get used to the red dot but I think it will come with practice, which I plan to do often if I can find ammo. 👍🏾

New subscriber to your channel based on this thorough review. We all want a little “reassurance “ when one buys a new firearm. I purchased my XDM Elite within a week of its release. Ranged it vs my Glock 29 at 10 yards. Fed them 180gr Freedom, Blazer 200gr, Fiocchi 180gr, Underwood Lipstick, Underwood 115gr, Buffalo Bore 200 Hardcast. Both performed well. But follow up shots the XDM killed it. For the next couple of weeks I got confirmation based on other reviews , that I chose wisely. For $599....I CHOOSE VERY WISELY. WHAT A STEAL. Your review was probably the best because of the gauntlet. Never had an interest in the S&W because they spit in the face of my beloved 10mm 35 years ago.

If you take the mag-well off and put the +1 extension on it. It feels way better in the hand and the pinky won't fall off. Also it will fit 12 rnds in the 11 rnd mag. You just have to push a little harder. And yes it does cycle shooting the the +1 off the top of 12 rnds for a total of 13 rounds. Your welcome. Great vid 🙏

This was a pretty good video, those shooting skills are commendable as well... You had me worried on the "Limp Wrist" test though - glad you didn't get too banged up. I will have to check out that M&P vid now.

Mag Capacity is actually 11 plus 1 even though the Mag says 10 rounds . 12 rounds of 10mm in that small a package is fantastic. I love mine

You do a great job on your videos. Your channel is going to do well. Was looking at the Smith & Wesson but now I am going with the Springfield. Love my Glock model 40 but at times I want something smaller. I carry the 10mm for some of my hunting trips. Now if Gunfighters Inc would come out with the Kenai chest holster for this Springfield XDM Elite Compact 10mm with a weapon light option I would be happy. Thats the main holster I always use while hunting because you hardly notice it is there and with it on your chest you can access it very easy and quick. On your waist your pack gets in the way and can't get to it easily. I know running all that ammo had to be expensive so thanks for doing the video.

Glad to see this. I picked up this XDM and soon after the M&P came out and I started having second thoughts. Glad to stick with the XDM. Best thing I did was take the extended magwell part off and just run the magazine as it came. I also put a rubber Talon grip on mine because the grip texture of the XDM was eating up my hand shooting the hot ammo.

I just picked up my Xdm 10mm compact with a lot of defense and target ammo. This video just solidified my decision to purchase this over the Smith & Wesson. I held both and chose this one. It felt more natural to me. Not a fan of the sand paper grip. Eats up my skin when I appendix carry. I witnessed this with my Smith & Wesson 45 shield.

I have the XDM elite but I got rid of the mag well and got the extended 15 round mags. Fantastic pistol, every bit as good as the G20 but more comfortable to shoot. I have a Kimber Rapide in 10mm as well as the G40 with a KKM barrel with compensator but due to shoulder surgery I haven’t shot either yet to compare.

I'm not a big xdm fan, and I didn't want to be impressed, but im very impressive with it in this video!

I have this and Its a tank...LOVE the trigger and spot on !! Take the mag well off and even with the 11rd magazines you will like the fit a much better...........Oh 10 times better than my M&P 4" 10mm That's on its way back to S&W............." I wonder if S&W is watching" LOL....they need to step up.

I got the SA Elite a couple months ago - great firearm and handles everything I reload. I like 135 gr Nosler JHP but am having trouble finding those. MY 'plinking round is a polymer coated hard-cast lead bullet over Accurate #9, shoots a hair over 1200 fps out of my 5" 1911...and also works just fine in my SA Elite.

Love my Springfields! Never a malfunction Ever!

Smoked this review as well. Im liking this guys look at the XDM. I've even heard lifetime glock owners brag about the internals of the XDM. Especially how they polish the feed ramp. Ive never owned one but that's probably about to change!

It seems smith tailored the M&p 10 to factory ammo. Like it or not, 10mm factor ammo is just slightly hotter than 40s&w ammo. Paul Harrel did a chronograph with the two and found 10mm only had slightly better velocity than the .40, as little as 10 feet per second. Give the smith some time, they will fine tune the 10.

I'm glad to see that Springfield figured out some of the issues, I bought a 1911 RO Elite from them a couple years back that had a lot of issues.

I've never had an XD or XDm that wasn't top shelf quality. Dem croatians know how to build an implement of destruction for sure!! Great video as always, keep up the good work! Wish I could get me damn hands on some #9 or blue-dot, happy new year!!

Good vid and major props to your camera guy/girl. Best shots/views are always from the body towards the pulled trigger then focused on your grip then towards the target & back to your feedback. Might sound corny but that's video ed 201 quality with no hiccups. Keep it rolling

My M&P 10mm 4inch has been perfect…..not one malfunction with any ammo…from 40 cal to Underwood’s 135 to 180 grain full power loads to anything in between…ear protection required with any fill power loads only drawback

The SIG X-TEN blows them all away, I have all 3 and a G20 & 29

Great shooting! I'm not surprised. I own several 10mm's and my XDM OSP is the one that sits loaded on my nightstand every night. That thing is light's out accurate and eats everything!

Ive had a Glock 29 for a long time a Rock Island 1911 and Delta Elite full size 10mm and was looking for a new 10mm to carry. I was going back and forth between the S&W and XDM until i watched this video. Honestly i liked the way the S&W felt in my hand a little better but decided on the XDM. Once i got the 15 round mag with the extended sleeve the XDM felt great in my hand and is my EDC.

I love Springfield. But hey their M&P’s M2.0 in 40 and 10mm are my favorite. I have those ones and I want to get the .45 M&P C.O.R.E. And .40 C.O.R.E. Because of the porting. They look nice but I gotta add them to my collection.

People forget/don't know that Springfield's handguns are actually made by a Croatian company called HS Produkt, and the baseline models are designed to be used by their military in wartime. And Croatia has been in and out of war a lot in recent decades so they've had plenty of practice making their firearms powerful, accurate, and reliable.

No issues with my edc M&P 2.0 4.6. Ran about 10 different kinds of rounds through mine. Zero feed issues... Maybe yours was made on hangover Monday, or maybe on a Friday at beer 20 ? I would contact S&W about it if I were you. That being said I do have a severe criticism about my CORE optic plate kit. Which has nothing to do with my pistol. Do not use the CORE screws that come with the optic plate kit. Use the screws that came with your optic. The CORE screws will shear off. I learned the hard way... My Holosun screws have been good to go. Over 200 rds no issues. Put my Glock 20 to shame in reliability. I will say I am not a fan of my pinky finger not having any real estate that you made us aware of in your video. Otherwise the Springfield looks like a beast. If they extend that grip and get more capacity I would absolutely add one to my edc collection. Great video, keep em coming!

Wow what a Sweet video. My brother and I ran over 500 rounds of mixed ammo through a M&P 4inch 10mm from hot defensive loads to hand loads some critical defense xtp and customs, Gold Dots, federal JHP, freedoms , and even some old school Black Talons and a few others it are everything we fed it without a hiccup. The only thing we thought the M&P could have had better was a trigger the take up was a ehhhh but other than that I love the new M&P It’s definitely a great shooter!

Well just cancled my m&p pre order and ordered the xdm elite with dragonfly. Thanks for making this video. I have been on the fence about my mp pre order since I watched your first video. I watched every other single video on it and was going to move forward with the hopes smith would come out with a recoil spring that can handle the 140 grain screwdrivers. My entire reason for a 10 is to not get mauled by a bear while bow hunting or samon fishing. Smith should not have put out a back woods tool that cant handle back woods use. Thanks again. Hoping you did some gel tests out of the xdm as now im looking for an edc load too.

Best thing you can do when you get this gun is get rid of the magwell. Allows you to swap for extended mags but also the magwell is what causes that pinky discomfort he was talking about. I took it off and shot way better after.

I love me some Smith and Wesson, have had many in the past. That being said my edc is a Hellcat Pro and just replaced my original XDM 4.5 10mm with the 3.8 Elite for my hiking/camping sidearm. Springfield just seems to understand what the market needs.

I own both S&W 10mm pistols. I purchased the 4 inch first and liked shooting it so much I purchased the 4.6. I haven't shot it yet do to working so much no time. Maybe S&W have improved their pistols since this video over a year ago because my M&P 4inch has eaten everything I've fed it. I haven't used buffalo bore and heavy grains because I'm a city boy so my firearms are for protection against bad guys not bears.

I just got the 10mm xdm elite compact for my bday a few days ago and I love it

First time loading my magazines, 11 went in fine. I just bought this pistol the other day. I much prefer the XTEN grip/ergonomics, but waiting anxiously for a XTEN with a 4 in barreled assembly. When I run my M18 and M17 from concealed AIWB, it’s amazing how much faster the roughly one-inch difference makes! I do want to maintain the full XTEN grip to facilitate a faster grip…

Nice shooting. The only thing I don’t like is the mag well pinky issue. I also bought the extended mag with backstrap and then it’s too much. Looking for happy medium but for carry it’s fine. Now if Springfield will make the Hi power in 45 ha

I love this gun I've only had mine for about a month and a half also for u u need to take to flared mag well peace of by taking out the 2 pins then u will just put the mag in and ur pinky won't be slipping off just look up a video on how to remove the mag well peace it only take a couple mins and it fits ur hand way better

I got the compact and tactical osp in 9mm last year. Unlike other vendors that practically require upgrades or replacement parts to make their guns functional or reliable, Springfield XDME are really good out of the box.

I have the XDm and XDs in .40 and they're great guns. My buddy has the XDm 4.5 inch in 10mm and it's a great gun also. Maybe someday I'll get the XDm in 10mm also but for now I'm happy with my RIA Ultra II and EAA Witness Elite Match in 10mm.

I have a XD that I bought in 2003 chambered in .357sig. It’s the service model version with the 4” barrel I believe, anyway I have had that gun for almost 20 years and it has been perfect, absolutely no problems at all. I cannot tell you how many rounds I have through it. I also have a Hellcat for my ECD and that gun has been perfect as well, it eats anything, Monarch ammo, Tullo ammo, doesn’t matter. Springfield Armory or HS Produckt is a great manufacturer. I’ve shot all kinds of Glocks and have had all kinds of problems with them, but not a single issue from SA. I don’t give a damn about politics (because that’s all the haters have on SA).
