My Roborock was delivered yesterday and after the first run I can say I'm more than pleased to have seen it in action. I used my original vacuum a week ago and on its first run the Roborock was able to pick up almost a full bin on the first floor (75m2) and another full bin on the second floor. My plan is to set it to clean every other day. I'm probably getting another one after some more trial, so I don't need to move this one from floor to floor. I'm also going to focus on customizing the furniture, like leveling up the couch, so it can move around the house more smoothly. I noticed that it easily takes more time if the space is narrow. Because of the navigation I think the Roborock is the best choice for a robovac. I can get 3 Roborocks for the price of Roombas i7+
True that! And I am sure you will like it even more as soon as you get used to the app :-) Also, if you use Alexa - it could be quite automatic. Thanks a lot for the detailed post!
How does a Chinese company absolutely kill the competition, in this case iRobot which has been developing robot vacuums for almost 15 years, with their first robot ever? And even sell them at half the price? It's crazy.
This video made me really happy I made the right choice on vacuum . It should arrive this week I’m so excited. Lol I know excited about a vacuum lol my life is sad lol
Ahmad Zaki after using it now for 2months I’d have to say it’s amazingly great . Not a single bad thing I could say about it and does an amazing clean compared to my normal vacuum .
Trying to be consistent :-) And you are right - it takes so much time. At the end - well worth it, as there are wonderful people like you around :-). Enjoy the weekend!
Hello! Last night around 11pm Roborock was at 100% of battery. I disconnected the dock base from electric network. This morning it was at 86% of charge. Is it normal this decrease of battery in stand-by status?? Regards.
Hi Paco, it is normal, however the percentage used seems to be pretty high. Is the WiFi connectivity good? If the connection is poor, it may drain the battery.
I have a 3000 sq foot house half carpet half hardwood. Had to empty twice and it didn’t do the 4 bedrooms. Full house would be 4 minimum at 3000 with carpet and pets. Hope this helps
Is the extra money for the mopping worth it? I’m on the fence and can’t decide if I should go with a different model that doesn’t have the mopping feature because of the price.
I rarely use mopping and have never been a huge fan of mopping by these lightweight vacuum robots. But I do believe this device is worth the money - pretty impressive!
Mopping performance is similar to a Swiffer.... there's also no way for it to sense where carpets are so if you have floor carpets or anything that cant be mopped in the same area there is risk robot will go over it. You can draw zones on the map to try to avoid, but I always find the boxes I draw slightly overlap edges of carpeting so it gets hit, or there is carpeting between the base station and area that needs mopped and robot just drives over it ha. I would say not worth paying significant up-charge for. You can't really trust it to mop without supervision so its not really as automated as the vacuum use-case of "run while im not around". Its not going to clean up any real messes that need mopped (like a large sticky liquid spill), it just picks up those last bits of dirt/very small light smudges on floor the vacuum cant get.
If you want a dedicated mop robot I strongly recommend Everybot RS700. It's Korean made. I have one and it's better than my irobot braava 380t. You may have to get one through amazon if its not available locally. I wouldn't rely on vacuuming and mopping from one robot. Roborock 2 (or s50) is still worth it though just for the price, features and connectivity.
wow, the Everybot looks quite interesting! Is it effective with carpets? P.S. I echo your opinion about mopping. These devices are just too lightweight.
If you don't have the mi vacuum already, go for the vacuum2 (s50) , otherwise the improove is not worth of it, there's not big difference. The mopping function is just a plus, but not really necessary. But get a Xiaomi for sure! Better quality, battery, and sensors than others, with a goid price.
i have it from yesterday, and iam very satisfied, its better then irobot roobma 6xx, that ihave too, for 3 years.. i like xiaomi, i want all from xiaomi :D phone, cameras, scale i have yet
Thank you for the great review! I'm considering one of these, but I would like to know if it's able to reach under my kitchen cabinets. I can see that the machine is 9cm tall. There is only 7.5cm clearance under the cabinets, however, the foundation for the cabinet sits only 12cm in. So I was wondering if the edge of the machine would be able to reach below the cabinet?
I think it will not be able to reach that, unfortunately. Doesn't good great work on my cabinets either. The side brush is not that long. I've in fact thought of looking for a longer side brush, but that could potentially confuse some of the sensors...
Hi LegendFPV, and thank you for sharing your opinion. This is a review of the Roborock 2 vacuum, and not a comparison video to other brands. If you prefer to see the review of the product, maybe you should check the video itself and not the description section :-) Like many channels, I am placing these links in attempt to get minor commission from orders. This is a way where people can support my channel for free, as they pay nothing o top of the price, furthermore - sometimes there are quite good discounts listed. Each video takes time, research, preparation and resources to be done. Thank you for your understanding.
Here's your comparison to the Neato D7 and Roomba i7( both of which I purchased and returned for the S5 because only the S5 met my needs). 1.. The S5 has at least 30 min more battery life. 2. The S5 tends not to get stuck in places that aren't all that much of a challenge (the Neato and Roombas get stuck on nearly everything. In fact found my Neato D7 stuck in a corner while climbing a wall and falling on its back like a turtle). 3. The S5 has more suction than the other two 4. Thanks to the extra suction and the S5's efficient cleaning pattern, it cleans faster than the other two. It cleans my entire apartment in one run. The D7 cleaned it in two runs with a re-charge in-between and the i7 cleaned it in 3 runs with two recharges in-between). 5. In the event that the S5 does get stuck, the user can set up virtual no-go zones like the Neato D7 (Roomba i7 maps, but does not offer virtual no-go lines - making the mapping feature a useless gimmick). 6. The S5 cleans in rows for a neat looking carpet like the Roomba i7 (the Neato butchers the carpet with a chaotic cleaning pattern that jumps from room to room). 7. The S5 offers a mopping function (the other two do not) 8. The S5 is half the price of the D7 and i7. 9. The S5 does not automatically empty the waste container (like the i7), but I find the S5 superior in every other respect.
Read the reviews on Amazon. The Roborocks have few to no negative reviews, the Ecovacs have far more negative reviews. Also, the Ecovacs cannot follow a schedule unless you are running the app in the background of your smart phone.
i have it and the mop is more of a clothlike rag installed at the bottom of the bot. Water is put into a small flat container that slowly releases the water onto the mop so that itll wipe the floor when the bot is moving. its great for the finishing touch of cleaning up the floor but its not for cleaning up any spills or anything of the sort. Works well but do not expect it to work as well as manual mopping.oh and its not recommended to be using any type of cleaner, just water.
I have had many robot vacuums over the years, from the very early Roombas. They have all failed me except for ILIFE vacuums. I have had an earlier version of the V3s Pro Robotic Vacuum for two years now and it is still going strong with no loss of battery power. It runs for two hours or more, whereas the other brands gave out in a half-hour or so and always needed new batteries. I have no connection with the company or any vacuum company or supplier, but I can tell you for about $150 US, the ILIFE vacuums are fantastic.... double front brushes, very low profile to fit under cabinets, etc. No app, but who needs that when you just have to press a button on the unit itself or the remote. Comes with extra filters, parts, etc. Never had a problem. I have given several as gifts and everyone is amazed how great they are and have had no problems. Easy to empty just like this Xiaomi. I like Xiomi products but this vacuum is way overpriced just as many other brands are.
I used to have iLife v7 for almost three years. The only thing that degraded in time was the battery. never had to change a filter or something else. So I fully agree that the older iLife vacuums were unbelievably fantastic! Although with less suction power and no smartness - the v7 was outstanding. Cleaned with it after huge repair-work and I thought that will be the last cleaning ... but no - a bit of washing the filters and cleaning the body and it was back to normal. It is fascinating that iLife vacuums are so durable. Have you tested any of their new models? They seem to now have smarter devices.
@@TechMishka It uses 360 Smart app, I have to say, registration via phone number is pain in the ass, I had to install another 360 Camera app to register via mail and then uninstalled it and used that login in 360 Smart app - that is the only issue, then you see muuuuuuch better app, it looks 10 times better than xiaomi's and it has very important feature that xiaomi is missing: creating blocked areas - if it's carpet, whole room with toys or cables on floor or you want block windows and mirrors where LIDAR is confused and wasting time. Yes, I have tried Xiaomi 1st gen and 2nd gen with mop (Roborock S5/S55) and 360 S6 has better dust bin and filter part, cleaning is about the same, but app and price beats xiaomi in vacuums more than any other company in other market..
Thank you Stan. That makes sense! I can't say Xiaomi's app is bad, but it does miss some features... You can still limit access to some areas by selecting just an area to be cleaned, but doesn't sound as good as the option of the 360 that you mention. Maybe this is another device I should test :-) Do you have any recommendations where it is a good idea to get it from?
@@TechMishka Yes, if you plan to clean whole flat except few areas, it's not possible with xiaomi, also 360 has two side brushes and muuuch better dust bin design. I got it from Gearbest for 285€ with filters and brushes as a gift.
I'm looking to buy a robovac and I checked out lots of yt videos on it after I first heard it from you. I think the 360 S6 performs worse. It may have some more app features, but despite its two brushes, it seems to miss more dirt, not to mention its mapping seems more chaotic and not as systematic, hence less efficient. I guess my choice will still be the Roborock S5. Also, I know Xiaomi; I've never heard of a company named "360", so trust on reliability is low imo.
