Just got my General and want to be ready for Summer Field day. I think that a self contained power source such as this has, is really the way to go. WIth internal tuner, you can carry less into the field. I like it.
I have mine ordered, hoping the June 17 shipping date is going to happen. Trying to watch all the videos so I’m a little familiar with it when it arrives.
Do we know how many watts PEP... I'm assuming QRP, but hoping for at least 10 Watts PEP... Would make a great preper radio from the looks of it... Anyways, going to have to save up money for this one 😁✌️
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones thanks. I wasn’t away they would ship overseas I guess I’d be hit with VAT and an import charge from the courier it’s happened to me before
Look nice. Let hope it doesn't overheat on digi modes, like the X6100 did. I won't be buying one, I'm happy with my ICOM 705. Looks like it's speaker socket is stereo, by looking at the Xiegu branded speaker.
If I had an ICOM 705 sitting on my desk I don't think I would bother with this. But I don't. I think they have picked a smart price point. Less than 60% of a 705. If it lives up to the hype they will sell a lot of these.
It may well be a great radio and worth the price but $800 USD doesn't fall into what I consider the budget radio category. Perhaps my bias against pricey QRP radios is showing.
