Kinda, I replaced it with a dumbo RC receiver though.

Everything about this install is plug and play, except the battery connectors (unless it comes with the connector you already need). My MAX6 ESC came with “Deans” connectors (which suck and can’t take high voltage or amps) which I changed to EC5 connectors. The female motor wire plugs connect perfectly to the male XMaxx motor wires. The receiver wire also fits perfectly. SUBSCRIBE!!!

I went with max punch, 50% reverse, and 100% brake. REMEMBER THIS: do NOT go to 7.4v if you have the stock Traxxas steering servo. It will die. I am making a video on installing a new PowerHD steering servo in my XMaxx which can take 7.4v. SUBSCRIBE so you don’t miss it!

The servo starts to become weak over time, especially the XMaxx servo. You’ll most likely need to replace it eventually.

It gets hot anyways, but not hotter than it did. You’ll definitely need a heat sink and fan though. SUBSCRIBE!!!

Is it the stock motor

It’s a noticeable improvement over the stock ESC if you use high C rating batteries. I was able to do flips on the stock ESC, but the MAX6 does flips much easier. All my gears are completely fine and still completely stock on punch 5. SUBSCRIBE!!!

I can’t confirm either through hard data or an RC dyno, but I can confirm that just through my senses I feel that it has more torque and speed. The extra punch definitely makes it have more torque and it seems like it’s faster because it sounds like the motor is spinning a higher RPM. SUBSCRIBE!!!

Max punch (5). Yes all the gears are perfect. Recently cracked a bulkhead and that caused the front diff to strip out, but it was all because of the broken front bulkhead.

How are your gears holding up now 3 months on with your max 5 punch? I’m planning to change my setting this week. Do you have standard gearing but upgraded to hardened steel?

Complete stock works well. A lot of torque and not too much heat.

Yes, self-right does work. Self-right is controlled by the receiver and not the ESC, so changing the ESC will not screw with self-right. SUBSCRIBE!!!

X-maxx before is 6S then they released 8S version.

Yes, you can use the MAX6 ESC with the V1 6s XMaxx.
