Xtreme 2018 & Astatic 636L Microphone Test 

The Astatic 636L (not 363) sounds much better. Best for SSB also. But I already knew it would.... Thanks for the test.

I don’t know that the first one was louder, I definitely think that Astatic was a cleaner sounding Mic though. While it is playing on RU-vid, fast forward to about a quarter of the way into the video, and immediately fast forward to about 3/4 of the way. You can get an instant comparison

I looked at a few of these mic test videos featuring the 636L and I was sold on it. It was definitely the sound I was looking for, plus the quality and build of the mic can't be beat. It runs my peaked and tuned 29 LTD Classic great, especially with the echo board. Nice loud, clear sound. 73's Bulldog! 8622 Ontario Canada

I think the Astatic 636L was much cleaner sounding but the mic gain could have been turned back a little at the end because it was over modulating when he got right up on it. The Xtreme 2018 still sounds ok but it's a little muffled and not as clear.

The Xtreme sounded a little better,but me owning nearly every Astatic ever made ,I just like the Astatics.On "Ham" radio I run Heil mics made by Bob Heil in your country,these are Top notch ,but his cheaper ones are $150.............The Uk waving a hand to you Bulldog.........73's DAVE North Lincolnshire UK.

Which direction should the vr2 and the vr3 pods be turned for best sound on the extreme 2018 mic ??? Cw or ccw ??? Please anyone give me an answer 😢
