Update: In now running a RFX-95 AMP with a Predator 10k Antenna snd can easily talk 20 miles on a good day. The Road Devil with the Amp scares the crap out of other drivers as to how loud and clear it is. I think the Road Devil Mic was a good plus on my ser up.
Lol yeah I probably should of turned the squelch up. A lot of white noise from the radio. That’s an old video. I probably should make some new better videos. :)
Well this is completely misleading! A mic any mic WILL NOT INCREASE POWER OUTPUT PERIOD. Modulation yes, power NO! Sorry but this is a fairy dust experiment.
Great video as I am undecided on going with a power mic. This video makes me lean towards the Road Devil. I just had my radio peaked and turned. The Mosfet was replaced in the process and I'm running no extra power amps. Tech said CB was swinging 20-30 watts maybe. What is your opinion and especially adding thr power mic. I have a Cobra 29 LTD. Thanks, Ricky
Ricky Willis I got one and they don’t seem to pair well. Sometimes the mic will whine and seems to interact with the antenna. You might have a different turn out though.
@@highrevryan2288 K40 very nice mobile antennae i have a President Colorado and a 9' whip which i can't find. I think i left it at a job where i was using it to pull cables through a wall.
for vehicle use I recommend the 636L, if you want to use a power mic the Road Devil would be my second choice. but this would be for vehicle use only. if you run a base station at home I would use a mic that really modulates, like a D104. one other thing if you run a power mic, amp and try to use talkback on the radio it will not work, you will get feedback, just remember that. keep the talkback off.
I didn't know which to get so I got both the astatic road devil and the ranger SRA198, you can't have too many mics I guess. *stock cobra 29LXBT *Stryker 955 built by HD. -L.C NM
Are you on am or ssb? On fm the level of the mic won't effect power output and might distort. Saying that i have an astatic teardrop which has tone and volume controls.
