Yadif vs. QTGMC - Video Comparison 

I use MKV Toolnix to extract the raw files from the DVD without re-encoding. Then I use VirtualDub2 to deinterlace the raw files using QTGMC and export them to a 1440p60 100Mbps MP4 file. That's it. Then I just drop them in my editing software and edit my video from there.

StaxRip is a graphical interface for avisynth. It has QTGMC built in and works well.

Selur Hybrid is even easier to use than StaxRip
