Yaeba: Good Double Tooth and Bad Double Tooth in Japan 

I honestly don't care, I don't have perfect teeth, infact my upper bite is pretty noticeable, that is if people bothered to pay attention, guess what? People don't. I was offered braces a long time ago when I was really young, and I had heard so many troubling problems from other kids with it, so I said no. And I don't regret it, not a single bit. But I have noticed that of what few Japanese girls that do have snaggle teeth, and decide to travel abroad often feel embarrassed by them when they noticed all the foreigner's teeth being very straight and white. So they of course get braces, I think it's kinda sad, but maybe that's just Japanese mentality of wanting to fit in. What makes it concerning is how much Japanese girls are willing to change themselves, first it's teeth, then it's dyeing their hair blonde, then cutting the monolids. It makes it look like some Japanese girls don't want to look Japanese anymore, and would rather look like a westerner. That's why I think it's sad, it makes it look like they aren't happy being themselves.

I was thinking the same and found your video randomly I also have noticed that most of japanese girls upper front set of tooth are inclined outwards. I have a friend of mine who have almost double the set of lower teeth. He literally had 32 tooth in his lower jaw itself...then he underwent aurgeeies and now have normal conditions

Aaahck the sides of my two front teeth does better social distancing than people😢 since losing to molars last year, my front teeth has been adjusting thus brand new gaps😭 it does affect one's confidence. Now i can't smile as much as I used to so I don't scare people away! And eventually, I stopped singing on videos on singing apps altogether.

The school's domestic reputation is strong but outside of Canada and the U.S., it's practically unknown. Given that, are there opportunities to work in Japan, especially in accounting or finance? Would you recommend doing an MBA at an internationally known school like the University of Toronto? Also, as a South-Asian male born in Canada, how would I be treated by Japanese society? Is it even worth working/living in Japan if I had N2 level fluency? Sorry for the long questions, but I hope you can answer them!

I have been told in my life I have the typical Southern Japanese slightly crooked teeth. I don't have a double teeth thing, Its just that things don't look like they fit 100% together perfectly. Maybe only 85%. I'm OK with that.

🇵🇭 I find it kawaii for ladies to have good yaeba. Even my girlfriend, who has a straight "perfect" teeth said that my yaeba is one of the things she likes about me. Even a number of my schoolmates during gradeschool and highschool thought so, too! BTW, I'm already past my mid 30's. And, I have no plans of having it "fixed" through braces. On some girls and young women it looks kind of cute to me. I guess maybe because I have imperfect and long canine teeth myself. To me it’s more important to have clean white teeth.

Here in the Philippines, those who can afford to have braces can always make their teeth beautiful As for me, even my teeth is not perfect I don't want to have braces Anyway!!! We can always hide our teeth so no big deal

I am a bit confused because you were showing two different examples of teeth pictures. #1. I see in this picture it is double teeth where one set of teeth should grow, two more are growing. That is ugly here. People here would pull those out if they can afford it. Then put braces on to the remaining teeth to straighten them. The other picture #2. You showed some just really pronounced canine teeth. Pronounced caninie teeth are very attractive to some. I find them attractive, others here file them down or put caps on them.

The first Japanese girl I've ever talked to online had it but the 'cute' one, I was confused at the beginning but then I didn't care Also, in the anime there is a girl with a small triangle in her smile(Sera Masumi), I first thought they're fangs but then it turned out to be yaeba 🤓

As an American, I imagine a good chunk of the population thinks "Yaeba" or "Snaggletooth" isn't an attractive trait. But I don't have stats on that, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Now me personally, I think the "yaeba" can be very cute/sexy on a man. But have to admit, if the face isn't handsome and the teeth are too messed up, then yeah, it becomes a turn off.
