Seeing this asked a lot, so wanted to clarify. The interview with Suda51 was shortened to mostly the translator bits as we have a lot to edit right now and didn't have time to do all the transcription required for closed captioning via the translator! Sorry guys! We'll look at uploading the full uncut version of the interview down the line once we get all this E3 content out the door.

It'd be nice to get a fan transcript. The translator actually seems really really good, but there's stuff that's just crazy hard to translate on the fly.

"Be a good dev and maybe SUDA51 will visit you in your dreams", said Yahtzee. Then Yahtzee went to E3 while doing his 12 games in 12 months project and actually MET Suda51. He promptly pinched himself to see if it was real.

Does that hand action have the same connotation in Japan?
@internetdumbass
@internetdumbass 5 лет назад
@@tmarrittDue to the rapid advancement of technology in the country, people in Japan very rarely use their hands to masturbate. You can see an example of the technology they use in the documentary *The Zero Theorum*. Only older generations would get the connotation, and even then on one hand they're too polite to explain it to the younger generations and on the other they all find watching them charge their swords too funny.

I love this style of interview, slight awkwardness and all, so much more than the super upbeat, preapproved, buzzword-filled nonsense you get in most interviews these days. We need more demand for Travis Touchdown in Smash Bros! I love Suda 51 and the No More Heroes series has gotten many adults back into Nintendo consoles. TSA was a great way to reignite that flame for Travis fans that have waited so long for the third game and if they add him as the last dlc character for Smash that will increase the hype for his third game, along with people that might pick up TSA and the ports of NMH1 and 2 that Suda says he is considering. The thing with Yahtzee is I know him from playing at a bar he opened in Brisbane and he's a very likeable miserable sort. He did. In consecutive translation you usually have to translate the complete sentence the speaker says, so I guess given the nature of this translation (a fast-paced interview with time limit speaking about the nature of the game) the translator has to know a little more about the topic and not wait for the speaker to tell every single minuscule detail about the game. That, or the translator is very used to answering the same thing over and over again and both speaker and translator agreed to do it this way
