I like how in most other encounters Kiryu's just slightly annoyed at Majima's antics and tries to talk out of fighting. But when Majima discovers his sacred Pocket Racing stadium Kiryu's just, "No, get out, fight me."
Imagine being a kid walking into a pocket circuit stadium and seeing two grown men that look like and are in fact Yakuza members having a one on one race
I love how Kiryu is just like "No. No, okay? Let's go outside, and I'll fight you." The one time Kiryu would WILLINGLY fight Majima and Majima's like "Nah, this place looks incredible! Let's race instead!"
I would remind you about that one time with Passionate Men Bathhouse. Kiryu kept telling Majima that it's not what it looks like and he took that DVD because he wanted to see Edo drama or something. But since Majima likes to be sassy, Kiryu's just y'know what I'll fight you just don't tell anybody But yeah, the rare times when Kiryu willingly puts himself in a fight with Majima are nice!
@@lilukara5953 There was also one time when Majima was threatening a civilian and Kiryu can choose to interfere in the situation. Kind of like a role reversal where it's Kiryu interrupting Majima's lifestyle (which both of them acknowledged in the end that Kiryu just pulled a Majima there). Turns out Majima was threatening to beat the civilian up because the civilian threw away a plastic bottle with the regular trash, which, in Japanese culture at least, is very disgraceful towards the planet as it only adds more toxins into the air. This made Kiryu realize that he just pulled a Majima.
I'll let you in a little something. The pocket circuit game, it's not like nascar. The man who gets 2nd place isn't the loser. The guy who can't get faster in the end, he's the one who loses. Eh? Don't ya think? In the pocket circuit life, there are no goals. I'll tell you what, Kiryu. To me, a loss or 2 don't mean shit. Having Awano or Shibusawa beat me to the fastest of kamurocho title? Couldn't give a fuck... As long as I'm alive, I'll keep getting back up for more. Which is why you... A half-ass like you's the one thing I can't stand. Now race, you little shit!
He probably spent a ton of majimagumi's money just to fake the zombie outbreak for kiryu. I wouldnt be surprised if its the same with pocket car racing too
...isn't that all the antagonists in Yakuza? They spend billions of yen paying their thugs, having elaborate head quarters, weapons, gear, etc, to defeat one person, and Kiryu just tears through them all like they're nothing.
As the other users have pointed out, Majima is still the same guy as in 0 (and before the events of 0). The "Mad Dog" persona is fake and was created to prevent others from messing with him. Remember, at the end of 0, Majima was fed up with everybody using him like a pawn. Also, if you decide to continue playing the series, you'll see Majima gradually dropping the "Mad Dog" act. In Yakuza 5 and 6, his personality is like in 0 again, even though he's barely in both of those games.
i imagine that after first race Majima back to his office and order all his subordinate to go out find all part and set up practice race and everything and all of them be like WTF is Boss getting into this time hahaha
"B- boss we could'nt find a Godspeed motor anywhere..." "YOU FUCKIN' DUMBASS HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BEAT KIRYU-CHAN HUH?!?" *Then he beats the ever living shit out of the goon*
Funny. I saw a moment where a friend beat Majima in the first race and as he turns to go get new parts, the 2nd Majima encounter for Pocket Racer happened, so I'm imagine that all happening in the span of 10 seconds
You can actually see the gears turning in Majima's head when he has to refer to Kiryu-Chan as Kazuma-Kun. It's like "I have to call Kiryu-Chan something other than Kiryu-Chan?!?! DOES NOT COMPUTE!"
I love how Fighter is totally not intimidated by the obvious Yakuza with the wild outfit and the visible tattoos and the eye patch and the crazy gleam in his remaining eye 😂
All I can think of is he knew. But also knew if anyone tried to press on him, the Mad Dog would magically show up gong " The fuck are you trying to do with my off time?"
😭 Truly the toughest Yakuza character. Their conversation was just... Fighter: What's your name? Obviously scary criminal: John Badass. Fighter: Welcome, Johnny, glad to have you!! 🙂
Even if they are, whos stupid enough to cause a scene at a hot wheels tourney? Everyone else in the family would make fun of you for the rest of your life.
My favorite part of this was how all the Pocket Circuit encounters were stacked back to back. As soon as I finished one race, Majima was ready right away for the next, not allowing me to go to the shop to get some essential parts
Me too, I would always fight him whenever possible but I would forget to play the story sometimes and the "connection" with him could no longer be felt T.T Even though all I can do is bash his face in, I still get to hang out. [Spoliers below?] Though on that side mission before you go to see Shinji's gf and Majima tells you that you are being followed, I got sad when Majima got shot and was left behind, might just be me though...
Imagine if Kiryu, Majima and Fighter had met as little kids and played Pocket Circuit together. That would've been so cute 😄 Nishiki would constantly compete with Kiryu but never win once, Saejima would've been dragged by Majima to race (but would get into it as much as him) and Akiyama would just race without feeling competitive, but manages to win a fair number of races.
@@robertbernard7844 I've finished writing a fanfic. If you've got the time, please check it out and tell me what you think. Thanks! archiveofourown.org/works/20238133/chapters/47964097
If you wait a little bit during the score announcement you can hear fighter in the background squealing scaredly because (sounds like) Majima came after him and trying to beat the shit out of him lmao
I had no problem beating Majima all throughout Kiwami (save the first fight for obvious reasons). Then *this* happened, and it took me two days. And I only won the last race because Majima's car flew off the track by some freak stroke of luck.
This bring me back to my Cub Scout days building and racing Box Cars. All the Scout dads would go apeshit with the designs of the cars. Good times, man. These look even cooler tbh
I love that Majima, upon learning Kiryu is the best at something other than fighting just gets even MORE excited about the idea of challenging him to it. I guarantee you it could be fucking anything man, if Kiryu is great at it Majima wants in.
Good video, bu for the second race it's better to use "Super Soft Tires", "Ultra Balanced Frame" and "Bumper Plate". Didn't get any close calls on the road with that set.
Alright I can confirm this: I followed your [GreenRedBlue20] guide and made the alterations suggested by Chingis. It was complete domination. I never had to mash that Circle button once! Thank you both!
When I look back at Kiwami, Pocket Circuit is always the first thing that comes to mind. Especially because I used to play against my brother at home as a kid all the time, really fond memories. (I still own the cars and tracks!) Kiryu saying customization is half the fun is 100% accurate btw lol. Been hooked on Yakuza series ever since, easily one of the best franchises ever.
I love how it starts playing Majima no Majirock in the background right after Majima loses the first time, like even the environment knows Majima's not screwing around anymore.
sometimes the best parts about these games are the sidequests and substories, I'll never forget the one substory in Yakuza 0 where Majima becomes a follower of Manan or whatever name it was. the ladies daughter got in the cult.
@GreenRedBlue20 you did a great job with this whole pocket circuit series, but I present an easier build for the final race: Car: Devil Killer Tires: Ultra Slim Tires Frame: Ultra Metal Frame Motor: Ultra Godspeed Motor Gears: Ultra Boost Gears Battery: High Capacity Battery Suspension: Heavy Suspension Bumper: New Bumper Plate Works like a charm! Only mashed circle once 💯
I failed 1000 times because of having to randomly mash O right at the end of the 4th lap and then my car just deciding to fly to the moon. But then I saw this and this build absolutely worked in 1 try! Thank you so much!
well yes but no... Y7 has racing yes.. but its more like a mario cart genre kind of racing.. i havent played Y6 as im still currently at Yakuza kiwami 2.
I'd like to have more variety of cars or an extensive modification mode that gets you immersed in your customization should it come back in future games.
Imagine Pocket Circuit Fighter finds out that Majima is a yakuza. Like.. you're just vibing one day with Kamurocho's f a s t e s t pocket circut racer, and his 54 year old, one eyed yakuza friend with steel tipped boots, and a snakeskin jacket just casually walks in and starts cussing like there's no tomorrow. Would that be weird-
for the second race with Majima, i followed your setup but changed my motor to Ultra High Torque Motor. I won convincingly with no problems. Thanks for the video
I mean, fighter does say that EVERYONE was welcome in the pocket circuit stadium. And if he's "buddies" with Kiryu, he probably knows that Majima's yakuza too Lmao.
Kiryu is such a Pocket Circuit enthusiast to the point that he tries to force Majima to take their fight outside so they will not sully its sacred grounds.
