I just found your channel. I live in London but I also have a home in the Carribean I think I will use your methods to plant yams and cassava. Thanks for the education.
Very Informative... I want to try growing Yams, it's my favourite food. But I had no idea where to start. I'm a new gardener, but very passionate about growing my own food. I am not too keen about planting them in my backyard because the digging in clay soil does a number on my back. So Yams in sacks sounds perfect. I may try them in tires or a raised bed too. This is the best food on earth. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I do not live in no where near Nigeria. Where can I get the seeds to grow the yam? I once tested it. I really really really love it. This video will teach me how to grow yam. I will follow all the steps. All I need now is yam seeds. Please do something and help. Thank you
You can apply manure as long as they're dried or decomposed properly. Apply the manure round the root zone in a ring-like method not too close to the vines
You talked about wetting the yam if they're reluctant to break their dormancy. A quick question now is, will the bags be perforated to allow them not soak in too much water in the bag or if in case it rains?
There are very thick sacks available in the market. Way thicker than the ones used for the yams. Don't know what they're called exactly but once you touch it, you'll be able to tell
If you're doing inorganic, do npk 15:15:15 When applying, apply in very small quantity, like few grains into the sacks, like 10 cm from the vine of the yam.
