It's 2 stroke brotha , not 4 , that motor is meant to rev super high. Your saying that blaster is almost as fast ? That blaster should be taking that 250ex by half a field if you were driving it correctly.
I've got a really nice rebuilt 91 250x so I'm pretty stoked to see this newer one. I love that Blaster tho. We have Honda Yamaha and Suzuki in our stable
Nova Green your type of 250x is a “300ex” not a 250ex or 250x. 87-92 is a 250x which is the same thing as a 300ex and the newer 250x is just a renamed 250ex.
Agreed a healthy running stock Blaster will beat 250ex any day drag racing when ridden properly, but how many people are gonna continue to talk about a powerband like it's a physical item. Jesus theres really even someone saying their powerband is broken lmfao. Every engine two stroke or four has a powerband. On a two stroke you need to keep the revs up to keep the engine in the peak of its powerband because two strokes are peaky and make their power mostly up top. Four stroke tends to offer a broader powerband with more low and mid range power but less top end thrust than a comparable 4 stroke. But every engine has a powerband and your always in the powerband somewhere when the engine is running, it just has high and low parts of the power band/curve depending on the tune. But the powerband isnt one specific physical item. It's not a nitrous kit engaging at 5500 RPM or something, a powerband is simply put the curve in which an engine makes power through its rev range.
My 04 blaster blaster with a fmf fatty pipe, turbine core 2 silencer, aftermarket reeds, and a CFM Airbox keeps up with a suzuki ltr 450 in 5th gear. It just gets to speed quicker than me but when i get to speed it doesnt keep pulljng away
It called quickshifting, you ahift without the clutch, i dont ever use a clutch unless of stopping oe starting, i ride a 04 yamaha blaster btw so the kid rid ik ng the blaster doesnt have to shift with the clutch
I've actually raced a 250 ex and a blaster and the blaster won by a bike length because I ran out of top speed on my 250. So yes the blaster should be a bit faster
you should let your gears wind out more since its a 2 stroke you would be shifting much stronger and the blaster is faster anyways 4 strokes just accelerate quicker
I literally only heard you hit the powerband for a split second half way through the video. You are shifting way way too soon.. That blaster will eat that 250 alive if you ride the powerband correctly.
Stick to your 4strokes brotha learn how to ride a 2stroke. You gotta hit the power band and your shifting up before you even hit high rpms you should’ve blown that 250ex away.
Randy Hobbs I've realized after riding it enough, that I'm shifting the blaster too soon and I now know that if I would have gotten it into the higher rpms I could have beaten him more
He has no idea how to ride a 2 stroke that's for sure. I had a blaster and a trx250ex and the blaster is twice as fast if you drive it right.. But my trx450r will smoke anything 😉
