Really appreciate the comment man! I've got something up my sleeve for 2021 ;) Might do a teaser video in a couple weeks, just still getting all the parts together.

I know my riding is crap but I'm still getting used to the bike and I am finding the clutch lever I picked out for trail riding is aweful for street riding! *proceeds to keep making other excuses* haha.

Did you ever figure out why it rattles on decel? Or is it normal? Mines doing the exact same thing
@kosmoto

40 year old crank bearings seems to be the answer to that one. I'm rebuilding the engine ground up right now, guess we will see if that's what it was :)

@@kosmoto Oh geez, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. I didn't want to tear it down that much again. Let me know how that goes

I love it! It feels like a completely different bike. I'll go over it in another video as well, but the silencer alone seems to have made a huge difference! Definitely a lot more responsive and feels way more unrestricted. Feels like she's breathing a lot better. I do need a top end rebuild I think, at least I think that's the cause of that rattle noise (piston slap), but it still runs muuuch better than it used to, really can't wait to ride it on the trails

Any idea why dts' always seem to rattle? I've had two dt 175's and they've both done it. Great build by the way👍

Thank you Sam! Haha I honestly have no clue...I am still trying to figure that one out myself. I've had it ever since I got it. I know mine could use a top end refresh but you're also not the first one to tell me yours do that too. I think they just...sound like that lol! I will investigate further and if I come up with any info I'll be sure to share.

You're likely right! Going to look into the bottom end as soon as I move

Are you running the complete big one system? I have a stock 82 DT175 and looking at purchasing the full system:)

Sorry for the super late reply, I don't check the comments on this channel enough. I have only ever ran the Big One silencer which was quite a big improvement. The silencer on these bikes is the most restrictive part of the exhaust system so even just swapping that out you'll notice a difference. I have not ran the big one chamber yet. I've since also bought a cone exhaust from Colombia for my DT175 motard build which will have an RT180 engine (essentially the same). TL;DR: at least get the aftermarket silencer, but pipe will help as well. Pipe will likely benefit from a 28mm carb and a light porting job as well

Is that a different triple clamp/forks?

What kind of throttle is that?
@Jammed_Toast

Sounds just like mine. Love it. What range of temps are you getting and what size jets are you running?
@kosmoto

The bike is much more responsive now, it's crazy. At 1/4 throttle it's already booking it and I can WOT it and she just GOOOOOES. I didn't really beat on it so the highest the temps got were 325 while ripping, and around 280 cruising. It wasn't the warmest day, I'd say around 65 degrees. I am running 32:1 Yamalube, #25 pilot jet (as opposed to stock #20), 145 on the main, and 1-1/4 turns out on the air/fuel mixture screw. That's with a de-restricted airbox (removed that holed cylinder that slips over airbox underneath the seat) and of course the Big One silencer.

StacheCam Definitely gotta get yourself a monoshock 175 when the time comes! I’d love to help do it up proper as well.
