Glad to be of help dude, be sure to check out my actual clutch installation tutorial that just went live, too. It might answer more questions. It was a great success, clutch feels awesome.
@@HalfClickUp Now I’m actually running a custom clutch pack where I’ve done a full fiber mod to get rid of the shutter spring and then on the outside I’m running the OEM disk that is the different material I guess and I’m very happy with it but I’m also using my FZ6R as a dirtbike and a stunt bike and I’m just really tough on her 🤣 I can’t have nice things
Looking good, so far. Some say give it 500 miles of "regular" use before heavier use. Some say 50 starts and stops. Others say just ride it. No idea. I'd just ride it and if it slips a bit at first, back off for a while. For 90% of the riding I do I couldn't really go any easier on the clutch. I'm not doing power shifts and such.
I imagine I'll naturally need to take it easy to adjust to whatever differences there may be with engagement points and such (stiffer springs), so I'll likely "ease into it" by default. Really hoping this kit will provide some improved feeling during engagement and between shifts. Haven't experienced another high RPM slip lately, but she's gotten quite mushy. It's almost like an underpowered sensation in the seat of the pants between shifts since there isn't a positive "jolt" during gear changes anymore.
Interesting. Luckily I don’t need to replace my clutch on my 2010 FZ6R yet. Not sure what clutch kits are available in Australia, but I’m sure there are some other Aussies on here who can let me know, when it is time. Looking forward to the install.
My only advice is to soak the whole pack a day ahead of time at least. Ya usually you want all the tabs in line. Interesting that last plate is different.
@@brianhaygood183 I think it takes the brunt of the friction directly with the pressure plate, which I think is why Yamaha has a separate part number for that one plate. Different friction material I believe… for example it’s specifically noted in the service manual as being solid black in color so as to visually differentiate.
Hey man, i actually replaced my clutch and i have the clutch chatter what u were talking about. Now the thing is, i replaced it as how it came out. First i didnt do the wire but after some time i heard the chatter in high rpm’s now i did the wire but the chatter is still there and i cant see on any diagram that i missed something. If u have no time to answer that’s no problem I will wait on the install video.
So this will be a first time experience for me. I’ve researched and learned as much as I can going into this thing, and I’ll be following the service manual accordingly, but admittedly there’s a fair chance that something doesn’t go right due to my lack of solid clutch knowledge. From what I’ve read about Barnett kits, they can vary from application to application with regards to whether or not you continue to use the wire, etc. The Fizzer kit didn’t come with any instructions on that either way, and so I plan to go back with the wire as factory. As I covered in the video, the only oddity is the slightly thinner 7th steel plate. There’s no other place where it makes sense to go other than with the one funny friction plate behind the wire. I guess my questions to you are: 1. Did you install a Barnett kit. 2. If so, did you put the thinner steel plate with that one different friction plate together behind the wire. 3. Are you sure the dampener spring isn’t installed upside down.
