This is a good solution for the user that wants to preserve the midrange presence but eliminate the lack of low end and unbalanced NS-10M nature that makes them such a fatiguing box to listen. I would have loved to have had this before I sold off my NS-10s. With desk real estate at a premium a "vocal only" box wasn't gonna work for me so I have the Genelec 1031s and NS-1000m as primaries.
For the original speaker replacement (to preserve the sonic profile of the Yamaha NS10M's that they are prized for), you need a Yamaha JA-1801 Woofer. They are not very hard to find.
@@manchesterexplorer8519 you are so right, even if flattened on an rta it would not be desirable to an enthusiast. You wouldn't want an ls1 in your all original 69 dz302 camaro even if it performed better.
Today I blew one of my NS10m Studio woofers. So I did a search and landed here. Now I like to try this LD-10, but I am in Europe. And I really do not see a reason why I should not trust this mister Dave.
Not the same design!! Its NOT the special paper cone from the NS10 Mission completely *failed* You just r*ped the original character that made the NS10 famous/notorious. Painful to watch 😢
The purpose of the NS-10 is to hear all the subtitle details in the Mids.. They are not designed for bass response. There is a reason they sound harsh and sterile. Any good Studio engineer knows this. If you want monitors for bass buy monitors that produce bass. like the Presonus Eris E5 or Jbl 308P They will be cheaper and sound better than a pair of butchered NS-10.
Yamaha NS-10s are discontinued. They were not originally designed for studio engineers- they started as bookshelf speakers for consumers in 1978. Anyone who's done research knows that. They were adapted for studio engineers over time. The Reftone LD-10 woofers were designed for engineers and they are extremely detailed in the mid-range and the bass response that you hear is actually in the mix. Nothing artificial. But how would you know that? You obviously have not heard them. They improve the NS-10 experience- periodt.
@@reftonespeakers417 NS-10 are not for "experiencing" the music. They are for correctly distinguishing the subtitle details in the music so producers can get it finely tuned and accurate. It looks like your business model is take crappy Chinese woofers and put them into good speakers because kids today like bass.
@@reftonespeakers417 I am not trolling.. I am upset and disgusted that you are encouraging people to ruin their speakers just so you can turn a profit.
