Any tips on the reverse not wanting to go in? I have to push up on the back of the sled to engage reverse or back to drive. I played with the chain tension and it didn't seem to do much..... Or is it just normal for the phazer?

Check out this link: ty4stroke.com/threads/phazer-reverse-issue.154999/ The 5th comment down from Mooseman has the tech bulletin. Read through that. The things I did are as follows and as long as the machine is warm the reverse shifts 99 percent of the time. 1st off it will NOT shift until the engine has warmed up and is no longer at high idle. 2nd I replaced the drive belt with the new belt with the updated part number. That takes some drag off the clutch to allow shifting. Check the secondary clutch spacing that it is correct and the new belt sits just at or above the edge of the secondary. Adjust with shims if needed. I also replaced the thick Yamalube gear oil in the chain case with Polaris SCL. It is fully synthetic and allows things to move easier when cold. This is what I did and it works great. Just go easy on it when shifting and you should be happy with it.

Good thing oil filter change will last quite some time

Do you have to adjust the clutch for belt tension when installing a new belt?

Maybe.... Check out this comment I made to another persons question regarding reverse which plays into belt tension on these machines due to the reverse issues: Check out this link: ty4stroke.com/threads/phazer-reverse-issue.154999/ The 5th comment down from Mooseman has the tech bulletin. Have you changed the coolant yet? Is there anything particular you need to do to ensure no air is trapped in the system?

I changed the coolant when I got them. I found a low point in the coolant hose on the right of the machine near the exchanger and used a wet dry vac to suck all the coolant out. Then refilled with new. It purges the air out itself on these models. just keep the reservoir at the fill line for the first few rides. I found that regular 50/50 premix antifreeze works fine. We do not have extream cold here and 50/50 exchanges the heat better than 60/40 mix.

Great, thanks for the info. I live in Washington State near the Canadian boarder, we get near zero a few times a year. I’m assuming the hose you used to drain the system is the main hose coming off of the bottom of the radiator?

@@289kyle I cant remember for sure but any one of those lower 3/4 inch hoses would work. No matter what you can never get all the coolant out of the exchanger.

Gotcha! I bought this 07 Phazer with (no joke) 110 miles on it. Not sure how much I “need” to dump the coolant since it hasn’t been ran much but figure it’s a good precaution.
