I’m a proud Yamaha Genos Owner and I love it sooo much the real reason I got it was because it was 76 keys and the most Top-of-The-line Arranger Workstation I know that the new Yamaha PSR-SX900 is almost like the Genos but is not completely a Genos with the added speakers what I get with my old PSR-S950 is that it was a lot heavier than the Genos To me this is a great upgrade to the PSR series which does lead it into the Genos but we all know Yamaha will not overshadow the top-of-the-line Genos I did talk to a lot of representatives of Yamaha to see if they can make an upgrade to the sequencing and style sequencers almost to be more like the Korg PA series Thanks for the review I can’t wait to try out the new product at Namm
Hi Jeremy.... just found this Vid on U-tube ...really good review on the SX 900 .... all I can say is.... really pleased I purchased the said 900...& finding all your foundation of this keyboard to be so...so true. Jerry you are one good Advert. Lol keep it up bud. 👀🤪
I have the following questions: - VGA output. Can I use it with standard VGA connector or USB-VGA converter? - DSP slots ... How many DSP slots are there in addition to reverb and chorus effects? 4 (PSR Series) 7 (Tyros Series) or 16 (Genos)?
It never fails. I've used Yamaha keyboards for years. Play for my own enjoyment. Am on a budget so I knew I couldn't afford the Genos. I researched and finally got the psr-s 775. Added the subwoofer with it. Bought a stand. Had it for a total of 2 damn months and now Yamaha says something about the new models. I know it's more money than the model I have, but by the time it comes out, I'd probably have the money for it. Much closer to having a Genos for much less money. I probably wouldn't have bought the subwoofer if I could have gotten the new model. It wouldn't have bothered as much if I had my keyboard for over a year, but 2 friggin months. Am I steaming right now. There's not a damn thing I can do.
Hi Jimmy, A great report from you. The SX900 does NOT have Kino Strings and both USB Ports are on the back. I believe the Revo Drums are a slimmed down version of those on the Genos but still the same techmology. I hope this helps those that are interested,
Joystick is the right way to go... In fact, I prefer Roland's implementation to Korg's. Looks like Casio has given Yamaha quite a bit of pressure. What about the price bracket for PSR-SX700? Can you do a price vs feature difference between PSR-SX900 and PSR-SX700?
Hi Jeremy, have you already got this model at your hand now? I use all your review all these times as my guidance and they're really helpful. So, before I'm going to buy it I wanna know what is the best and the worst things of this keyboard. Thank you!
Hello Mr.See...I am beginner looking for easy to use keyboard with vocal harmonizer please advice which keyboard is good for church use ...thank you for your help
Very good video Jeremy. I was in Singapore 10 days ago, my family in law lives there ;-) You have forgotten to talk of something : the multipads. Where are they ? On the right after the registration memory ? We don't see them on the photos. I do hope Yamaha has not forgotten the multipads on this keyboard.
Oops, no M.Bass either? Well, actually the attack is not at KORG which is already or still part of the brand - so that's why using a joystick becomes another try now. The after touch is still the thing we have to nag to the big brands including this one. Thank you for sharing your finding and thought, Jeremy.
I love your will to keep going despite getting looked over by Yamaha but they will come begging for you to work for them one day keep up the great work I love seeing the under dog get what he deserves
Finally a mid range from Yamaha having a right voice 3, about time Yamaha, but I’ll stick with my Genos, need the extra keys, the after touch, and of course, better key action
Jeremy See indeed! Although it’s great to hear that there will be some Genos sounds on the PSR-SX900, obviously not all of them, I can see that on the screen it has the SA concert grand from the Tyros 4 so I’m not sure if there will be any new piano sounds, maybe there will be some upright piano sounds but I don’t know yet, I doubt that there will be the CFX concert grand piano sound the Genos has
What would you recommend for a beginner willing to spend in a more intermediate price range? I liked your videos you already had on the lower end cost range, but they seem to be very lacking in features. I was originally considering the Casio Privia PX-S1000, but i saw that the 3000 came with a lot more sounds.
Too much expensive ......Korg PA 1000 give you after touch ...tc Helicon technology for vocals....more sounds + after touch and same 1 gb memory so why not buy that instead of this for less money which is 2000$ ....
Since I am a blind musician, I consider this news to be pretty bad! Of course I know, that touchscreen technology is The way to go today, besides it’s much cheaper to produce. But it excludes all us blind musicians from using such instruments. Yamaha has gone des Route with the Montage, the MoDX and the Genos, And I can tell you it’s rather frustrating for us to be excluded from using wird Juli Annie premium Keyboard Instruments nowadays.
Axel Schruhl Interesting to hear from a blind person. Some of the performers I love are blind, such Ronnie Milsap, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles. Because your needs are so unique, I suggest you write a nice long letter to: Casio, Korg, Yamaha, Roland, Medeli and tell them what you need to make music on a modern keyboard. To play piano or organ is nice, but today’s keyboards can do so much more. I know you want to be as independent as possible. See if a manufacturer will work with you. Stevie worked with Kurzweil in the past. Best wishes.
Nice video and the photos at least they don't look like they are taken from a Genos or a Psr S. I think a dealer from Yamaha in Singapore should provide you with Yamaha's instruments for reviewing them and tell your honest opinion as Jeremy, a keyboard teacher, for their pros and cons.
@@JeremySee But the other channels that review Yamaha's arranger keyboards and provide some tutorials, tips and demonstrations are major dealers in Europe and USA. I see people to watch your channel, especially those who are young people and new buyers that don't know the differences between digital pianos, arrangers, synthesizers and want to learn which instrument they should buy. You have 20 k subscribers which are all interested about an instrument with a keybed. And all of them, in how much time? One year? Why should they ignore the "power" of your channel in advertisement? Even if someone is telling his personal opinion about what a model can do and what it cannot do and if t sounds nice, Yamaha has nothing to worry about. I bought a psr s750 in a time I wasn't played too much with my DGX and wasn't interested in buying a new instrument but just happened to watch a video and was amazed about how it sounded and what it could do.
Bluetooth audio? How about the latency? will it has visual output? is it HDMI. last time I check PSR-S Series has video out and why am I excited? I cannot afford it anyway
This is great. Finally less expensive arranger with a great keyboard. But what about Playlists totally replacing Music Finder and braking compatibility by removing some old options earlier available in Tyros and PSR? Oh Yamaha, one step forward, one step back, as always...
Thanks Jeremy. 1) Is there anything that the PSR-S975 has that the new SX900 doesn’t have? Or is it a 975 on steroids? 2) I assume it’s 61 keys. WHY-WHY- WHY couldn’t Yamaha offer a 76 key version? We NEED it! Ask your contact.... 3) BTW, I’ll be in Singapore Monday and Tuesday. Love to meet a brother.
Jeremy, what do you think? Should I buy this? Or buy a second hand Tyros 5? I already own a PSR-S970, and wanting to add on another keyboard. Cheers to finally getting a new model, instead of a refresh
Interesting..... I probably wont get this anytime soon . A wopping 2700 dollars.. expensive but looks great. Hoping I can see u playing it on your channel. You Rock Jeremy
Thank u for such an informative video im your subscriber frm New Delhi India, had a query: Weather it has options to use microphone?? How much that be costing in indian currency?? U're doing a great job keep growing love from India
Hi jeremy ..i brought yamaha e363 2 days back ..i am using eveready batteries..now suddenly it is getting switched off..if switch it on it is displaying very dim display..please help me with this
Hello Jeremy, In your video you mention a USB port in the front, i been analyzing the pictures and i can't seem to find it, can you please point out where exact is it located? thanks.
I hope they added a new genre in the future like edm(futurebass,trap,futurebounce)... I mean i kind a bored with the same style..... (Coolbeat, hardrock.etc(the same shit over and over) ...keyboard needs to follow the current trend
Thanks for watching. What I meant was, if someone wanted to get a keyboard for multi track music production in a DAW environment, they wouldn't get an arranger as there isn't enough knobs, sliders and MIDI CC specific controls. For arranger style playing, no software can measure up to physical boards. That's why I am still using them.
This type of screen not only cost more but also requires much more computing power so electronics necessary to operate it will also be much more expensive.
This type of screen has been in smartphones costing $50 to $100 for years. :) The tech had matured long ago. These companies are just slacking around. I am using my friend's PSR-I455 and the time it takes for writing anything in memory makes me cringe (especially because I've worked with discrete electronics and even using a ultra-low power microprocessors with individual E²PROMS have been faster since decades now). It's sad that companies that can produce such great sounds are technologically so much backward. *sigh* Still can't convince myself to buy a PSR-I500 since they're cheap'ing out on basic features as well... :(
Hi Jeremy, nice insider job. Genos users will become jealous of some of the PSR SX900 functions. Do you think the PSR SX700 will have the same features excepted for the vocal harmoniser? I am eager to listen to the first demos and to see some photos. I am strongly hoping that the PSR S670 and the PSR E series will be revamped, too, because the PSR SX look great on paper but they remain expensive and there still is no serious contenders in the lower price range to the Casio CT-X series.
great but who wants to carry it to gigs, its for home or studio use, when you gig theres no time to play around with settings etc its just yr on do it.ha
Yamaha has THE BEST O.S!!!! And, of course, excelent souns, styles and features. I Love it!!! Thank you Jeremy( I' ve two boys: Jeremy and Neemias). :-)
You are great, I have already put this videos link on all the forums, and other channels that compete u in India, you are truly awesome Jeremy, could u pls tell me the links where I will get additional styles for Yamaha psr e 463
No this keyboard doesn't excite me particularly. I've just bought a PSR S975 recently. I smiled when you described the PLAYLIST feature. It doesn't seem to offer anything different than creating a playlist for a gig as we do already by creating a simple folder.
Now, let's hope that the lower PSR-SX700 does not decrease the sounds and features too much compared the 900, so users with limited budget will still enjoy the Genos experience In the past, I hate how the lower 7-series models has an extremely stripped down sound engine. For example, the PSR-S770 - while S970 has lots of sounds coming from Tyros 5, the S770 has absolutely NOTHING coming from Tyros 5 and just a recycled sound from S950 and a much older Tyros 3, not even Tyros 4 voices exist in S770 while most of them they are in 970. All the new Tyros 5 voices are removed altogether in S770 Another example is the vintage PSR-3000, which contain samples from the first generation Motif and Tyros 1. Its little brother, PSR-1500, has a very poor sound taken from the lower end models - similar to today's PSR-E series.
Sadly, They decreased too much voices and styles. SX700 has sounds in the Genos, but those are just old sounds with different patch names. New strings yes, but guitars, pianos, woodwinds no. So the SX700 is a new keyboard with 2007 samples.
