I bought the first year (USA), and many wondered why I bought it. After adding full size pipe, better tires, sport bags, and new seat (over three years), and I never missed my Triumph Sportbike. I still have it, and I have no reason to replace it.
I'm getting one soon after taking a year off due to a track day crash on my zx6r. When I initially sat on one years prior, I was immediately impressed with the ergonomics. It felt like a sport bike, and for me since I mostly ride at the track, with occasional back roads, I felt "at home" as well. My buddies that race these bikes all have nothing but good things to say, one take away that has me excited, is having to change how I would normally negotiate the turns. With a 300, it's about carrying as much speed as possible, and to do so sounds wild when my friend was explaining it. So yeah, r3 sounds like a good time, can't wait to ride one!
This is the only sportsbike I've ever ridden and I must admit that it was a pleasant and easy bike for me. I like it. I’ve just re-watched your Triumph Trident 660 video, I think you should buy one.
Here in Canada , i have a 1985 rz350, and a 2015 r3. I love them both. The r3 i run at 8000 to 11500 rpm. Very nice handling, and very light. Great to ride. Very reliable, and cheap to run. My rz is for dys that i feel a bit " cheeky" as you would say. Great powerband and an awesome wheelie machine. Best of both i would say.
One day when I was thinking I was stuck in the cage, couldn't reasonably ride my mt03, homeboy rides up on one of these in the rain and I couldn't help but kick myself for not having a buddy that day. What a beautiful bike. I love it. But not more than my mt03 with the teal rims! 🐢🔥🐢🔥😎
Did not care for the amount of frame flex I felt on the ninja whilst flogging it just felt like it wanted to wash out underneath me. It didn’t but the R3 felt a lot more planted that way.
More important is your inseam I have this bike in this version but it’s just the fairings that are 60th edition. It’s just a regular R3. My inseam is 30in at 5’8” and I can flat foot no problem
I'm 5'7". I generally find that bikes with a saddle height of 820mm or below are OK. That said it very much depends on the width of the saddle too - for example I can't get my feet down properly on the Ducati Supersport, but I can on the Supersport S - because the saddle on the S is thinner! Thanks for watching. Will be trying more out.
