How do I start my SRX ? Turn over a couple of times and find compression. Full choke if cold, none if warm. Ignition on, and stand up on kickstart and follow through smoothly, rather than jab. Throttle closed until you get towards the bottom of the kickstart stroke, then open just a fraction. Choke down to half almost immediately, and closed fully soon afterwards. If you cook it up, then it tends to flood, and any attempt to kickstart will have you dissolving in a pile of sweat.
Stock carbs, .030 under needles. Now GPZ- 250 CARBS. BOLT ON HAVE TO ROTATE THROTTLE ASSY. drill new hole to lock in assy. Butter fly ends up on its edge against stop. Use dykes to snip off the enrichment on left card, will flood engine. Shim under needles as required Tight fit but works 3:21
WITH : good battery and Spark-plug, air-filter clean, gasoline-tap set on "Primary position" , choke set at maxi when engine cold, (never use choke when the engine is hot). 3 kicks with ignition off (to give oïl to crank-shaft : arbre à cames , in french). Only one kick-start sould run the engine. Please : give 5 mn warmup before riding the motocycle (sorry for my english)the srx-6 is one of the best machine i get : light weight, small size, good brakes, good frame, very easy to maintenance, no one will robed the moto, 'cause there no electric strarter . Cheap when i bought it brand new in 1986 : 4500€
Very nice looking srx (color and mono seat). Which brand is the mono seat? I've posted a video message with my own srx. This is a fully standard srx with a modified stock exhaust, where the back of the exhaust is opend up and the final little tube is removed, effecively eliminating the last expantion chamber.
