Brian, thank you for the excellent work! I wish you were still making these useful RSW videos. It’s getting tougher and tougher to get parts and sound advice for working on our awesome bikes. You are a great resource!

I just recently purchased my first Warrior. It's a 2002 with only 2,300 miles! It's been sitting a while so I was going to take it in to the shop to have all the fluids /plugs changed until I came across your videos. Thanks for sharing such helpful tips that keep an avid rider (mediocre mechanic) like me on the road!

I just bought a 2006 Warrior with 6,660 miles. The original owner never changed the plugs. So I wasn't sure how to remove the gas tank to get to the plugs. But after watching your video, it is to simple to remove the tank. !!! Thanks

Hey Bryan. Thanks very much for this video I needed to install my power commander v on my 2003 warrior. Your video seems to be the only one out there for this task on a warrior. I was very worried about scratching the tank or screwing up a connection. Your video was short and very clear for accomplishing the job keep it up bro. Ride safe. Al.

Hi Bryan, thanks for the wonderful video. Just have a quick question. is the hose with with the elbow your breather hose? I noticed my gas tank builds up pressure after riding on a hot day and was thinking my breather hose is kinked.
@RSWarriorBryan
@RSWarriorBryan 5 лет назад
Thanks for watching and commenting! I believe you're talking about the two lines at the front left side of the tank. Under your gas cap base is two holes that are joined to two small pipes that run down through the tank and come out the bottom left front of the main outlet underneath. One is the vent, the other is the roll over valve. Hope that helps, and thanks again! Stay safe brother!

Bryan Great vids! I have an 05 Warrior. I've been too busy to ride much the past six months but a buddy bought an FZ-07 and wanted to ride. I hooked up my battery tender, dusted off the bike, and cranked her right up. She ran great! Then, fuel light came on. I gassed up but it is still on. Looked on warrior forum and saw often the culprit is dry break under seat. I found your vid on removing tank and saw how to undo the dry break. I popped it then reseated. Didn't hear a big click--not sure if supposed to--but it did make small click. Seemed seated. Went to crank bike and it won't crank. Matter of fact it was making very strange noises, clicks, and whirrs. Tried it a few more times and it seemed like it drained my battery down or it's acting as such. Very odd. I've popped the neg battery terminal and gonna see if that'll clear things electrically speaking. Hope it'll crank once I button up. You've got more mechanical knowledge in your pinky than I do in my head! Any suggestions? Thanks!
@RSWarriorBryan
@RSWarriorBryan 5 лет назад
Hey Mike, thanks for the compliment and watching the video. My first check would be the battery. I'd test it to be sure that it still holds a charge. How long after killing the bike did you try to start it again? Any recent modifications done? Mainly, have you replaced the front turn signals or plate light with led? If so, you could have developed the click of death. The sounds that you described sound a lot like a dead battery to me. Definitely a good call to check the forum for info and that's also correct about the dry break causing the light. It should have a slight click to it when seated correctly. Definitely keep me posted on the progress of this problem. Nothing worse than coming out to ride and not being able to.

@@RSWarriorBryan Thanks for the reply, Bryan! I buttoned the bike back up and threw it on the battery tender. Let it get a full charge and tried to crank. turned and no unusual noises/whirrs this time. Just the typical sound you hear when the gauges light up and the tach rainbows across the gauge. I hit the starter and she spit and sputtered and fought a bit the first couple of times. No odd electrical noises/whirrs. Third time I held starter button longer and she came to life after a few spits and sputters. I let the engine warm then ran around the neighborhood. Seemed to run fine. All gauges working. No unusual sounds. I always use the kill switch to cut off bike. Hit kill and it cut off without anything out of the ordinary. Let the bike sit for about 30 minutes. Decided to give it another shot. Cranked right up on first push of starter. Warmed up and ran fine. Maybe I just don't have enough juice to get the engine going on the battery? I wonder what will happen when the fuel light comes on this time? Guess I'll have to put some miles on and see. Hopefully, after reseating the dry break i'll be okay. Keeping fingers crossed.

Sounds like you got it all figured out. I'd assume you'll be fine. My only advice would be to keep an eye on that battery. Would hate to end up somewhere with a dead battery in the middle of a ride. Thanks again for watching the video, and glad you were able to get it figured out. Stay safe!

@@RSWarriorBryan Hey Bryan - Guess my luck ran out. I hopped on the bike to ride this weekend. had it on battery tender so not one issue cranking. bike ran strong but the fuel light came back on after about 10 miles. I only rode about 15 miles on a new tank so no way the light should have been on yet. i pulled into station and filled up to see if that would cut the light off. It didn't. I rode straight home not wanting to chance that the bike had convinced itself I was on reserve. Reada bout guys running out because of this issue. I reseated the rear drybreak again. light still on. i got to thinking that back in the spring, the hose from the back of the tank to that read drybreak cracked. My friend down the road who is a wrenchhead came and looked at it. He cut off a length of fuel hose and put it in place of the OEM "pipe 3". This was a straight piece of hose and didn't have the two slight bends the original had. But, seemed to fit pretty well and didn't have any kinks in it. I ran the bike after we did that and didn't have any issues. But, I also didn't ride enough to have the fuel light come. I'm guessing maybe that hose might be the issue? I've ordered the OEM part and new clamps. I'll install it and see if things get back to normal. Keeping fingers crossed?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I had hoped that everything was good to go with that last post. Definitely keep me posted if that doesn't work and ill search around in the mean time and see if I can see some other reasons that may be causing the problem

Hi Did you ever make a video for the fuel tank fuel petcock or I guess on the parts fish it's called a filter assembly I recently ordered the part a fuel petcock due to the brass nipple coming loose .leaking fuel. It's backorder for a month .but it's been a while since I worked on a bike . 2007 road Star warrior
@RSWarriorBryan
@RSWarriorBryan 4 года назад
Hey brother, thanks for watching and commenting. I actually haven't made a video replacing the assembly, but definitely not a horrible job. Main thing is making sure you have everything ready for the job. You'll need to remove the hose from the assembly, so you'll need hose clamps to reattatch it when you're finished, the factory ones won't really be able to be reused. Other than that, pull the tank and I believe it's 2, 8mm bolts holding it to the tank. Remove the bolts and pull the whole assembly straight out and install the new one. Believe the new one may come with a gasket, but can't remember. Hope that helps a little bit. Thanks again, stay safe out there!

@RSWarriorBryan

Hey, thanks for watching and commenting! Tanks are getting harder and harder to come by. Unfortunately no new ones are being made that I know of. Your best bets are to watch around on eBay for one to come up, or if you are on the forum or Facebook pages, make a post that you're searching for one. Sometimes you'll find a guy sitting on one that he isn't using, and if you're lucky, they'll sell it. Most of the time, you're going to pay a decent amount for them though. Good luck on your search, stay safe brother!

Bryan can this be done with a full tank without having to empty it? Thanks for your vids.
@RSWarriorBryan
@RSWarriorBryan 4 года назад
Thanks for watching and commenting! As for the fuel, you can remove the tank even with it full. The dry breaks will keep it from leaking. May drip a tiny amount out, but not much at all. Hope that helps!
