Yamaha XT350 YDIS Carburetor Cleaning

I pulled the XT out of the basement to get ready for a trip and another Summer of riding, but it would not run without the choke and sputtered if you twisted the throttle! I pulled the carbs apart and found a pile of crud (possibly disintegrated O-ring) under the blind plug and in the main jet of the secondary. Then cleaned out the jets on the primary since I already had it apart. I took it for a spin through Canal Park with fresh gas and it ran great!

I put new boots on there a while back, they had epoxy on there to stop the leak when i test drove it.

Got the same xt running with that same YDIS carb but mine runs like crap. What service manual are you using? Glad you solved that carb problem!

Looks like my manual. I have the Clymer Manual for Yamaha XT350 1985-2000. Clymer Manual M480-3

Hola alguien sabe que número de chiclera lleva el carburador y cuantas vueltas de aire mi moto no funciona y el CDI está mal me cuesta mucho encenderla y de paso no sé dónde va el agotador en qué pocision

When you initially tried turning it over, did the Kickstarter feel like it had less compression? I am having the same problem and am wondering even if I clean the carb it still won’t turn over.

That’s normal, xt350 has automatic decompression built into the kick start Mech. So with the exhaust valve open it won’t build a lot of compression, which makes it easier to kick over. The second the kick start returns to the normal position the valve acts normally. Clean the carb and change the plug. Also when the go to start these bikes they want full choke and no throttle. Don’t even look at the throttle.

Hey man I also have one but does yours also vibrate much ? and extremely vibrate over 4500 rpm if not what might be the problem?

I would check the wheel bearings first, then make sure the tires are mounted correctly and aligned. I'm assuming this vibration happens while riding?

@@mndurousa8264 Hi and yes I while I am riding does the tire type also have a influence? I am living on a farm and the bike stood a long time so I know and can hear one carborator is not working. And I have offroad tires riding in town also with it.
