Another outstanding video from the guys with real world machines, the cool thing about this video is how you prove that the parts change works with the drag races. The honesty of how you capture these moments truely shows and it is a testimony to your dedication to the sport, no matter what you drive. Keep up the good work and don't change anything except for more drone footage of the drag races. Sous, it's turbo time Bud!!!!!!

One thing I noticed that made the YXZ faster from a dig was that it was able to leave much higher up in the power band. When Nick raced back from a roll, seemed like the 1k was right there with him the whole time. The difference of leaving at idle versus being able to rev it up and dump the clutch.
There is certainly an advantage in the launch department for the YXZ but it also isn't able to live right at peak power like CVT machines are so it's a give and take. From a roll the machines are essentially equal.

Love the product reviews since I trust you guys not to BS us into buying stuff that doesn't work. I just bought one of these Alba flywheels and can't wait to put it on after watching this episode! You guys need to do a comparison of power output between aftermarket YXZ exhausts equipped with & without a quiet insert (mines a Graves slip-on) and whether you can mitigate any power loss with a different tune. I'm planning to try the air box spacer and GYTR filters on my Graves slip-on without the quiet insert - hit all three FT tunes to find my best result (unless you know of any private tuners uploading good FT compatible images somewhere) - then put the quiet insert in and try all three again - but if you guys did an episode on it I'd just know without all that R&D!

Well, Doug has to do something to his machine now. All the guys that Doug has helped upgrade their machines should chip in money and buy him some mods for his bike lol. Great video guys, shows people what 3/4 of a pound off of a fly wheel will do to a machine.
I have a yxz ss and I put the heavy weight flywheel because I ride more trails slow tree stuff and it took away a lot of the clanking but I think I read somewhere that if you turbo them if you put the heavy on it it helps keep the boost up between shifts. Maybe I'm wrong tho. But maybe I might get a light one to because damn!
It makes sense since a heavier flywheel rpm's drop slower in N than a lighter FW. The YXZ shifts so fast anyways I doubt it'd be a big difference in rpm's dropping.
I want that drive line in a grizzly, a true trans, true clutch and 3 cylinders would kill on a little grizzly! Specially mud racers, that would be perfect to get the power down
I put a lighted flywheel on my polaris 400 2 stroke quad and What a difference! Lot faster and on and off throttle difference too. It works im telling u.
Good video. I like how you guys drag race the machines after upgrades... using Doug's Yxz as the general baseline. After watching this vid I can guess how much faster the supercharged xyz is vs the light flywheel yxz by comparing how each does against Doug's Yxz. Seams the Yxz with the blower is faster (big surprise there) but is it 2,850.00 bucks faster?

Great video, and it’s amazing that something that small or simple might seem “trivial” at first glance can make such a difference. As for the loctite...nothing’s worth doing unless you’re going to over do it. Duh!

Great video, quite astonishing to see what one mod can do. Could it be lightened even more? specialist drilling etc to lighten and balance again? Flywheel and turbo ;)
It could be lightened more, and some people have done that, but there really is a sweet spot with flywheel weight and Alba put in a lot of time to try to find that. A little bit of mass to help keep things spinning between power strokes is a good thing.
Hey Doug I have the 17 ss se and the issue I have is after riding for awhile eventually the radiator gets caked in mud and I over heat so could you make a video on some way you guys could protect the radiator without moving it?

Randy Bishop we are talking about a STOCK x3 compared to two modded yxz.Have those two yxz race dougs brothers x3 and see what will happen,that will be impressive
Just gotta let everyone show their hand first... and Randy, Steve's (by brother) X3 is an absolute animal with the tuning and intake. It's pretty undisputed as the drag king of the group, for now.
idk if I've missed it in the videos or not. But what tune you guys use? Or is it a secret? Haha. I seen in the last drag that Steve's x3 was in just walked on everyone 😂😂
